By music industry standards only the original writer, singer and hit maker of a song can be "covered," not anyone else who performed the song years later, so recognizing Carmen is important as regards this particular song. A number of others have failed to do so. You are a valued Dimash reactor and I hope you never stop reacting to him!
I saw Eric Carmen live in Providence Rhode Island waaayyy back in the day. Great show, we loved when he did this song. My wife was a really big fan of vocal artists so I saw a LOT of shows

Before Celine, this song, which had some elements of Rachmaninoff's 2nd piano Concerto, was a hit for Eric Carmen in the 1970's. (Carmen had to share the songwriting royalties.) I like the surprise element of the Singer 2017 performance. Except for checking them out for yourself, don't bother reacting to his shortened performances of this song and others from the show The World's Best, which he ended up quitting after he found that they had lied to him in order to get him to participate.

The 'Singer 2017' version of 'All By Myself' is more focused, tighter. In the concert version you reviewed, Dimash was playful, teasing. He was in full serious performer mode on the Singer TV show.
