Anyways, I was inspired by Ravetheguitarist's awesome FFX guitar medley ( • Final Fantasy X Medley ) to commemorate the release of FFX/X-2 in HD, so I wanted to try my hand at something similar! There were lots of interesting and unorthodox FFX-2 arrangements in the Piano Collections I had, so I decided to try to record an FFX-2 medley. It was pretty hard!!! I've never written a medley before, I worked on it for about 2-3 days trying to plan everything out, and tossed out the idea of writing fancy transitions because nothing I worked out actually sounded good. Anyways, it was pretty fun to play in the end, though it killed me to have had to abbreviate Eternal Memory of the Lightwaves and Besaid because I LOOOOVE them, but it just would have made everything too long. I lost track of a lot of cuts and had page turning issues haha, so Vegnagun ended up being kind of a hot mess, but anyways, here it is, and I hope you guys enjoy! =)

Matin F ah I figured it out. I recorded 1000 Words for my friend's songstress Yuna cosplay tutorial. It's in its entirety on her video, looped several times, if you don't mind watching how to make a songstress costume the entire time lol. Another great job. I honestly have to admit I am impress with your piano skills. This one hits home because X2 was my first final fantasy game, and while is looked highly down by most, I for one appreciated the game, as well as the music. Once again thank you and nice work!
awww thank you so much for your kind words Wing, that really made my night!! =) Yeah, although I can understand why people hate on X-2...but like you, I really, really love it! And it wasn't even my first Final Fantasy game! Sure, it was different, but for the vastly different direction it took it was brilliantly done! I'm happy to see many here feel the same way too, especially about the score--other than Eternal Memory of the Lightwaves and 1000 Words, the rest of it is sadly overlooked!

That doesn't seem very easy to play! I can't believe you did it in one take, it sounds so right ! I'll make sure to watch more of your work, you certainly have talent, keep it up, it's wonderful !
oh thank you!! =) =) haha, medleys are actually easier to do in one take because you don't have to hold your focus for so long, at least for me =) It was fun to put this together and I'm happy you liked it!!
I never realised just how much Real Emotion makes a great battle theme.
Woooah! Amazing stuff! I only know FFX-2's music through the piano collections (which is probably my favorite of the series), so this was a complete rediscovery for me! I really liked the few themes that are not in the PC (esp. real emotion), and your variations on those who are (Yuna's Theme was particularly wild!)
I should have uploaded my FFX-2 piece yesterday because you project a long shadow! haha
Trillian!! that is so not true! You were killing it on Akagi Party, I soooooo wish all of my syncopated/backbeat stuff, especially on Yuna's Theme, were as perfectly laid back as yours!! Upload your FFX-2! I love your playing!
purpleschala Haha, thanks :). In my defence, I takes me weeks/months to get pieces to that state so I am always impressed to see you coming up with stuff so fast. My FFX-2 piece should be imminent but I'm 3 weeks from graduation so it's not the first priority!

Wow, can you see how much of a better musician you are now? Not ability because you have that down pat. But I'm talking about how 8 years ago playing that looked like work, causing you not to be able to slip into that lane I'm always talking about. You're amazing then and even better now. I do however have 1 question . Do they make some type of screen that you can download sheet music to and let it scroll past your eyes so you don't have to be flipping pages of sheet music? Like a karaoke screen sort of if not why ?
Did you arrange Yuna's theme yourself? Because I don't believe that was a part of the piano collections.

purpleschala ah I see it's been a while since I played anything from x-2 collections. I remember having a go at some piece which was pretty difficult. Think it was called creature creation or something iirc. It was in 7/4 I think

aw thanks manccurt!! =) Yeah, it REALLY killed me to have to cut so many of those themes off!!! But it would just been TOO long otherwise! But since so many people seem to like these arrangements, I will probably record them separately in their entirety! Rikku's theme was soooo fun omg. I could play that one forever hahaha.
