Not saying that idols aren’t singers, but companies usually focus more on the idols’ personality as a selling point, while singers are given a heavier emphasis on their songs.

I think it’s so difficult to be recognized when you are the sololist, but the more difficult thing that I’ve seen is being recognized and being famous consistently for more than 10years. I think IU is the only sololist whom still famous until now. In the past, there are so many famous sololist but now they all have gone but IU still on chart, first in every charts whenever she had a comeback. I’m not a fan of IU in the term of songs at first (I watched her drama) but after see her in many variety show in 2009, 2010, I realized that she had been in a long way and of course still famous nowadays because of her TRUELY TALENTS! She don’t have to be in gg, don’t have to be in big company, don’t even have to dance to impress fans, it’s just all about just her potential and talents!

Yeah, Last Fantasy is her only album that isn't on Spotify. I had to buy the album on Play Music, download it, add the local files to a Spotify playlist on PC, and then download the playlist on mobile so that I can listen it with all her other albums on Spotify.
