The suprising thing about this was that he was actually given bail, he could be deemed as a possible flight risk because of the amount of money he now has after his signing bonus of around $5 million this year. One thing that is clear is how he should not receive any breaks from the system for many aggravating circumstances like driving 150+ mph, blew at least twice the legal limit on a BAC and now apparently also having a loaded handgun in the car. Even if he wasn’t speeding and wasn’t drunk she still dead. That’s unforgivable
NFL has had many murderers employed. Ray Lewis and Leonard Little are just 2 examples
He will likely be in prison for 5 to 10 years. It could be 22 years. He won't be playing football.
Dude is gonna be spend his prime in prison smh. What a waste of potential

Sure, but ya ever hit 156?
@@edelmantoamendola not even close. Never was a speed freak. Unless I was chasing tail. Then I would just pedal faster.
@@thehallsofvalhalla7212 I like you. Prayers to all involved, this makes me sick to my stomach.
@@thehallsofvalhalla7212 Lol, I am saying. I could relate to this in my 20's and now early 30's partying staying out late and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that if you can handle it, but the second you get behind that wheel after and hit 156 you've lost any ounce of respect in my book.
Ben, I completely agree. People don’t realize that even speeding to work gains nothing. I know this may have been a different case since the speed was excessive but unless you are road racing from the east coast to the west coast, you gain little. My guess is he may have opened it up for thrills or to see what it could do with lowered inhibitions due to what was in his system. Either way, you are spot on.
I've been to 138mph on an interstate with no one else around. I stopped because a slow turn was coming up, and it was already feeling crazy. The faster you go it's gets exponentially scarier. I can't imagine 156mph outside of a race track.
Hey guys, looks like we got a little Debbie Downer over here 😏
I'll never understand why people who have money and now the technology at your fingertips still choose to drive drunk and not Uber or taxi or call a friend. God bless the young women and her pup.
Adrenaline junkies
He was literally driving a missile at that speed
He murdered someone.
He chose, decided to drink & drive.
How is it any different than stabbing any random person on the street?
His car was a deadly weapon.
Intent. I don't think he decided to deliberately run someone over with the outcome of them dying. He should get manslaughter realistically. Stupid, tragic, senseless and never should have happened, but it isn't murder.

My sister was killed in almost the same way. Someone slammed into the back of her while she was sitting at a red light on her way home from work.
My step sister got killed by a guy who ran a red light as well.
Everyone is talking about how sad it is for him cus he’s so young and had a whole career ahead of him, I don’t feel sorry for him one bit!!! He made the decision to constantly drive wreckless and fast and he made the decision to drink and drive and he KILLED someone. Took a life. So yeah poor him I guess. Not if you run the red lights he was pretty drunk.
The key is to make your decision BEFORE you go out--Am I driving? Or am I drinking? A or B. PERIOD.
If you are going to be DRIVING, then your decision is to NOT DRINK. PERIOD.
If you are going to be DRINKING, then your decision is to NOT DRIVE. PERIOD.
Once you go out, DO NOT CHANGE YOUR PLAN. Your decision was already made.
Keep it that simple and you will avoid altering your life or the life of an innocent person who was just trying to go about their way.
The EDR on the Corvette stores all the information, whereby the speed is logged. A warrant is needed to obtain the data. Scan tool is about 80k.
@Tucker Stafford
The Providence Police purchased for 80K.
Most cars since mid-2000s have EDR. Police just ask the manufacturer for free scan software. What, is GM or Honda going to say no?
@@eddietat95
EDR data can only be accessed by an investigator if he/she: Has been ordered or authorized by the judiciary to do so. Has a written or recorded consent from you.

These situations are always tough. One hand you want the worst punishment for an awful crime and the other hand you feel bad one terrible decision ruins so many lives 😔 Truly just a terrible situation
On both hands he should get life imprisonment. He knew the consequences of drunk driving while doubling the speed limit and murdered someone.
Im a raider fan but I hope they make a example out of this to stop future team incidents
That particular “vehicle “ can easily make it to 160 in the blink of an eye.
He obviously shouldn’t drive one .
Prayers for the family that this idiot affected.
Well, he ain't gonna drive one for quite some time, when it's all said and done.
Ruggs shouldn't be allowed to play a down of football ever again in the NFL. Recklessly stupid and condolences to the family of the victim
The money, the fame, it gets to peoples head, especially if they don’t have much money when they were growing up. It makes them feel like they can do anything they want. I think Rugs went out to impress people he aquatinted when he became a star player. He ended up with destroying life of a woman and her family. Raider will have no choice but to release him. Because he was driving so fast and was at twice the legal limit, there will be Jail time. No judge will let that slide. The victim’s family will sue and come away with a hefty settlement. It’s not just Rugg’s career is over, but his life too.
And you know because your a famous millionaire? It’s like when broke people say “money doesn’t buy happiness” lol bafoon

I went into a mental clinic and my blood draw had me at .31. I felt completely sober. Blows my mind. I didn’t drive or anything but it blows my mind.
From Vegas and I can assure you, no human in their right mind goes half that speed on that road. It is a completely residential roadway with schools and houses everywhere. Have also met the woman who tragically died, it is just heartbreaking all around.
No excuse can be made for this at all. He shouldn't get bail, he shouldn't get off easy. He deserves to go to prison. He could have easily gotten an Uber or Lyft. He is a MILLIONAIRE! Ain't like he's gonna miss 50 bucks for an Uber. Seen he could get 26 years in prison. He deserves every single day of it.
Probably end up like Aaron Hernandez as well.
If that was my daughter prison would be the least of his worries. I would never let it go.
He needs to be behind bars for life
Technically in court he won’t get a life sentence because the death was not on purpose. But his sentence won’t be very short, since his actions lead to the death.
He’s facing a possible of 20 years and I’d have to assume he’ll be serving most of that.
I don’t think so
Dude made a mistake, and it was an accident. You've never made a poor decision while drunk, or drove drunk, ever?? You think this kids entire life should be taken for an accident? I agree that he needs to be held accountable, but fact is, it was an accident. He's not a murderer, which even ppl that get caught for deliberate murder don't always get life in prison.
