Simple and effective. You might want to think about putting in a few extra wall studs to give it more rigidity and strength, especially in times when there are high winds. Enjoy your new observatory! Clear skies.
Very Nice & simple & it works 👍🏽 I’m looking around at ideas because 2 years ago I built my tiny plastic roll off roof shed observatory & I want to move up to something a little bit bigger but only by like 1 or 2 feet wider on each side & I most definitely will have to build it. Clear skies 😊
This was my thought. We don't need to build big enough to sit with the telescope unless you want to observe also. Great job, I want to do something similar.
Thanks!!! I mean I am sure its fun to sit in there for the first few minutes to make sure its all working well but after 5-10 min I wanna go inside and hang with my kids and wife. Or watch TV...something other than get eaten by mosquitos lol. And lastly I am not trying to rent the place out so it does not need to be so pimped out. Let me know if you have any questions when you come to build it.
Hi!! Thank you! I posted a video after this one showing my build and the materials I used. you can find it in my channel videos. Let me know if you cant find it
@@outhouseastro Yes I found it after I posted my question! It is very clear and informative. You have given me a number of practical ideas. Thanks again and keep the videos coming!
Nice. I'm currently looking through as many Obsy videos as I can find with a view to starting my own project. Re: holding the doors open, I'm thinking an old fashioned window latch. You know the lever with holes that slot onto a pin?
That sounds like a great idea!! I have been scratching my head on this part for a few weeks now. Can you send a photo of the kind your talking about? I might just try it
That's the way I like it. Compact and simple to protect from the wind, light and people. 👍
Thanks!! That’s the plan. Glad you enjoyed it

Hey!! Yes I plan on doing that in a few weeks. Also want to paint the inside black and install fans to vent air for summer time

Thanks I appreciate it. It was fun and I was able to do it on my own. Good luck with your expansion project!! Share a picture of it sometime

@@outhouseastro I can't post a link here but I've just discovered that the latch type I refer to is called a "Casement Stay". Hope this helps.
@@Cheapass-troI’ll subscribe too. Under what post did you put it? I was looking for it just now
@@outhouseastro I've now posted a copule of pics.
