Valid points about the steering wheels, interior posts and opening parts quality. I also noticed the windscreen plastic is looking a bit cloudy on some models rather than nice and crystal clear. I hope MBX are not trying to cut costs again, as these quality reductions and the increasing repetition of the same models over and over it is really beginning to make me reconsider the brand. Thanks for the review of these models. My favourite model would be the Mercedes wagon due to the vintage service livery. The Datsun 510 Rally is a little disappointing for me as despite the full decals (front, top, sides, rear) the wheels just don't look like rally style and there is far too much width on the tyres in my opinion. Maybe I'm getting too picky LOL!
On SOME of the models I've seen, there were literal MAISTO models back in THE NINETIES that were better made! In fact, Maisto of the nineties was roughly about as hit or miss as Matchbox is NOW.
Was thinking about buying this case from Toms, but I'm not so sure now. Was after the Land Rover Discovery (LR4). Still looks a good casting if you ignore the interior. Kepp up the good work Dude.....👍
The freightliner is the overall best for me, I like the OG livery on the Benz the land rover is nice in the stock look and the Nissan looks like the quintessential matchbox casting if the vw was out of the lineup it would of been a perfect mix lol
Thanks for showing this! Was waiting for the Discovery/LR4 and thought it might be only available in a 5 car box. Now it is in the Collectors range which is great. Whatever the interior, just want it 😂
I'm probably gonna grab at least one of these Freightliners to replace the generic cab my Matchbox rig trailer came with. Saw another review where the guy pairs em up. They don't QUITE match each other, but it's close and this is a cooler than hell casting anyway.
@@DiecastDudeofficial I'll try to find it again, but it was in some sort of Asian. I THINK Chinese, but I don't wanna just say that without knowing. Hang on a sec, I'll see.
Thank you sir for reviewing this set among the 5 vehicles i think the datsun is the best followed by mercedes wagon the others not the best quality wise all looks pretty much the same ...
Because the steering wheel, don't forget my friend, that these cars are still toy cars for kids . For more detailing models I guess that majorette is a better brand in this scale. Otherwise you must start to collect bigger scales model cars 😄😄😄
@@DiecastDudeofficial they are really more expensive than majorette? OK, for this money they are not good enough ☹️. But comparing hw and matchbox, I would say that hw is better, or not ? Matchbox had a high quality in the past, when the cars were manufactured in the UK. The same with siku. Only majorette is in my opinion better now ,like in the past.
So your saying the Steering wheels are UGLY ......LMAO.. you are right, the same UGLY wheels on all the cars also, but i will be buying this set when i see it......
Nice set. I've seen worse steering wheels. Most of my M2 Machines have nicer steering wheels, but are almost always broken. The MBX vehicles still have great display value!
On Datsun there are no side mirrors, those are some additional lights.. But I still like the Datsun the most.. Mercedes is not bad bud side mirrors are ugly and sun roof is also not well processed...
I suppose at the end of the day they are toys and can't expect too much, but the Land-rovers steering wheel is poor but overall ,the cars are really nice. 🇮🇪👍
Well I like the Mercedes S123 T-Modell. But I am missing the 3-pointed star on the grill. And yes, they should do better steering wheels. Oh by the way.. I think, I saw a steering wheel at the Freightliner. But in comperisson to its size, the steering wheel was too small.. What also is not so good, is the metal thing in the back of the cars. For example in the VW, or the Mercedes. Because they can do better
kids cant swallow those steering wheels unless they swallow the whole car...thats why...but what about kids in the seventies. did they swallow those nice steering wheels? they could break off but being 3plus you dont stick it in your mouth
Yep, super ugly steering wheels! Haha those doors will be closed forever 😄 agreed on the price issue. The cost warrants better quality models as the manufacturing technology is better. Still looking forward to the freightliner.
What looks horrible to me is that stupid piece of metal that connects the chassis to the body. The POST. There's no reason for this stupid post. The rivet is behind the rear axle. But yet the post is in front of the rear axle. I just don't understand the reason for the Post. You could take a matchbox from 40 years ago and throw it to the ground and it's not going to come apart. The new stuff is pretty much junk. Toy companies are basically covering their asses on the count of the safety concerns. Whenever I get a car and it has the Post I drill out the rivet and I cut the post off and put it back together. I very much enjoy your Channel .Happy New Year.
You want to see a messed up interior. Look at the PONTIAC Grand Prix. The '64. It looks like the steering wheel is coming from the floor and not the dash. Horrible.
Who cares about the freaking steering wheel or interior?!?! They’re $4 models in the US. I love all Matchbox. Don’t buy anymore and save more for me Diecast Dud.
You are right, it's not the end of the world. But with the technique from nowadays they can do better. Steering wheels from Hot Wheels are a lot better. And let's be honest, if you can choose between a good Steering wheel or a ugly stomp the choice is easy.
I'm really happy when they reveled the land rover discovery in this collectors line. But matchbox collectors has proved disappointing. I don't know why keep coming up with this ugly colours like the Freightliner, the Mercedes, the inaccurate scale and the ugly steering wheel. It just ruins out moment when we are looking at this cars.
