    Patton's quotes in this video:
“Do not try to make circumstances fit your plans. Make plans that fit the circumstances.”
“A good plan violently executed now is better than a perfect plan executed next week.”
“Better to fight for something than live for nothing.”
“The object of war is not to die for your country but to make the other bastard die for his.”
“Give me an Army of West Point graduates and I'll win a battle... Give me a handful of Texas Aggies and I'll win a war.”
“If everyone is thinking alike, then somebody isn't thinking.”
“Make the mind run the body. Never let the body tell the mind what to do. The body will always give up.”
“Never tell people how to do things. Tell them what to do and they will surprise you with their ingenuity.”
“You cannot be disciplined in great things and undisciplined in small things.”
“Always do more than is required of you.”
“I don't measure a man's success by how high he climbs but how high he bounces when he hits bottom.”
“It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived.”
“When there is fear of failure, there will be failure.”
“Fear kills more people than death.”
“No good decision was ever made in a swivel chair.”

We can no more understand a Russian than a Chinaman or a Japanese, and from what I have seen of them, I have no particular desire to understand them, except to ascertain how much lead or iron it takes to kill them. In addition to his other Asiatic characteristics, the Russian have no regard for human life and is an all out son of bitch, barbarian, and chronic drunk.”

      Seven Up
      Once there was an Army
      Then one day it died
So toll the bell and waken Hell
      To give it room inside.
      The story of this Army
      Is very very drear
      Its beginning and its ending
      Were especially queer.
They made its chief a perminent
      So he perchance could wave
      At others hurrying past him
      Their country for to save.
But now just like a skeleton
      Upon the desert floor
Orders like vultures come each day
      To pick away some more.
The thing has got so very bad
      That now his friends suspect
That he no longer can command
      Even his self respect.
      Yet like the fabled Phoenix
      The Seventh shall arise
      Again to soar in triumph
      Through flaming smoke veiled skys!
      by George Patton

My dad served in Pattons 3rd Army. He was a Republican at that time. Once he got back from Europe and left the farm, he began working for the state DOT. He flipped to the Democratic Party once he was off the farm and realized who was behind the blue-collar working man. Dad was a smart man who did not go to college. He could clearly see which party was screwing the working man.
