Felt really nostalgic watching this video as it was my stressful trip through star city with a broken engine. All the hire boat companies stress NOT to stop on that stretch you did. Peaky Blinder Art was all that was positive on this trip! Lets hope you don't find the brazilian knickers I deposited at Kingswood! One of my favourite views was top of Knowle locks so far. x
Ey up me ducks. Looking forward to seeing you get back into some proper countryside, definitely not feeling it with this canal especially around the City and the City limits, lol.
Hello new too your channel iv see your boat is in a bad way that the mint. I live in Birmingham my save an was happy to see boating tho Acocks green an yes your right about them twins the Kelly twins live locally to Aycock screen and deliver the local paper. It’s such a same to see the canals in such bad way as Birmingham has more canals then Venice, but we do have some of the best graffiti in the whole of Europe, but it’s just a shame people, literary so much don’t seem to care😢 Love your content and I hope your situation is sorted out soon
Just because someone doesn't speak to you, Does not mean they are ignorant. I don't speak to everyone i pass in the street. Some people are maybe not as outgoing as you or just shy or nervous. Rant over, Quality of video is excellent and have to agree about the state of the canal. I live in Erdington, Which you passed through in your last video and i used to love walking the towpath but it just isn't safe anymore until you get away from the city. Take care and keep up the good work.
Click bait is a necessary evil on UA-cam. The real tragedy is we expect to see rubbish, graffiti and degradation in the larger cities and towns. Enjoying journeying with you. ❤
Absolutely always loving your vlogs, such a shame all those disused buildings being left to rot, while we keep building 1000's of homes on green land. Love the ambient music, not the kitchen song. Lol, thank you.
The canal might be prettier than housing but housing is a human need and Birmingham has homeless who need that space, though I suppose council housing could either be built directly above the canal or if the moorings are empty in that area, then councils could build council narrowboats that could then be moored there. Though disused buildings could also be either converted or replaced by housing, whichever is cheaper, but it's hard to ague that now recreational canals should displace a human need like housing, in the presence of homelessness.
@@alan6832 Have you looked at a map and seen how much empty land there is in the UK? councils build on green belt in fact anywhere they choose if it suits them, these canals are History and must be kept, the river trust get revenue from many sources unfortunately they don't seem to spend it on the upkeep of the rivers and canals.Lots of places have volunteer armies that keep the place tidy/in good order, Lots of the old factories laying idle rotting away could be used for housing?
Birmingham city council is bankrupt, they do not have enough money to run the basic services of the city so maintaining the canals is a low, low priority. I used to live a couple of miles from Camp Hill, I used to walk over some times to the Dunelm Mill shop there, honestly I doubt most people even know the canal is there.
I’m confused by your title to this video because I think this looks to be a beautiful and interesting canal. Perhaps a little less click bait next time ❤
Just so your aware the term "Siamese twins" is considered quite offensive and was replaced a long time ago by the more accurate term "conjoined twins" As for Birmingham glad I can watch you guys do it so I don't have too it looks shockingly bad.

I know we much prefer the countryside but it is nice to show the viewers the other side of boating ❤

Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed the video, and thank you for the info on the twins, my mind can rest 🤣
Maintenance costs, when a Buddleia takes hold they can destroy a structure.
Thankyou

I wasn’t very keen though that part of Birmingham.
The thing is with everything you have good and bad that includes the canals we cruise 😊
I DON'T KNOW WHERE YOU ARE, BUT I THINK I WOULD GET THE HELL OUTTA THERE. IT JUST FEELS WRONG. MAY-BEE IT'S JUST MEEE.
Thanks for the advice 😊
we are struggling to get our roads swept , these sort of things not happening now a days , so much cut backs .
That's life I suppose. 😮
Because council tax funds wars, not repairing our streets. Corrupt
What
A shame all that rubbish and graffiti Along the canal. 😮 nice to get out the city 😊
We do love the countryside Chris but it is nice to show the otherside of boating to the viewers 😊
I see what you mean!

Aw diddums
@lindasharp8523 I don't need your sympathy for offering/educating Josh in the correct term but thanks anyways 👍
