Congratulations Erik! That is exciting news. I have sailed a lot of different kinds of boats and the Hobie is in my top 2. If there is anything you want to lean about your new boat, I recommend checking out Joe Rider TV on UA-cam. I learned a ton from him. Happy sailing.
It was great seeing you as well. I was worried I would be late getting home and only have audio. I am looking forward to learning from you and collaborating as well.
Watch a lot of Joe Rider TV's videos on UA-cam. He has some amazing videos on what to look for if buying used and how to maintain your boat once you have it. He is an X world Champ racer and I trust the advice he gives out. My advice would be, Only get a Hobie 16! Never get a 14 and the longer models are not great either in regards to the older fiberglass Hobie. The newer plastic boats are very nice, but it is a bit harder to fly a hull. They have nice options though, like a furling jibe. Good luck and I hope this helps. You will have a blast.
Watching your series. Just bought my first Hobie 16 this week
