I'm so sorry that this happened to you, especially as a birthday present to yourself. Yikes. I had a similar issue recently, I bought a "good condition" lot of Barbies from someone, everything looked fine in the photos (couldn't see anything wrong at all), so I was so excited. Only to be absolutely appalled and disgusted when I opened it up. Doll hands/arms were snapped/cut off on about 6 of the dolls (with only 1 hand to be found in the box....), they stunk of cigarettes, had chew marks, and were absolutely filthy to the point where I had to physically shower after unboxing them all. Ever since this I have always used gloves when opening 2nd hand lots that I buy online, it just made me feel so gross. I reached out to the seller, they responded with "I didn't notice".... Clearly they did, because every defect was not visible in the photos, hands that were missing were placed behind the dolls backs, or placed strategically on the outfits. It honestly made me so sad. I saved what I could, and I'll do reroots to some to save them, but so many are beyond repair. Just sad
You can fix the head pretty easily, I watched a video by Dollightful on how to fix necks and they work really well! I hope it can be fixed. Love your videos!

I had the Taylor Swift doll with the closet. Funny story on how I got her. It was my cousins birthday and my grandma got her the Taylor swift doll and then right afterwards gifted me the same exact doll even though my birthday wasn’t for 6 months. We always joked about it because my cousin never got a doll on my birthday and it was really random. I can’t believe someone sold you dolls like that though! That’s insane.

Oh my goodness yessss!!! I sell frequently on eBay and you are definitely supposed to mention if items come with smells, stains, or from an animal friendly home. Like come on people, I’m so sorry you had to deal with this 😢.
Opening stuff live is fun but when stuff like this happens it’s so stressful… I don’t think I’m a very good actor when I’m mad so watching this back while editing was painful 😭😭😭 I didn’t want to return them and eBay doesn’t allow disputes for partial refunds anymore unless the seller offers it specifically so I just had to accept it and move on.
As a seller I definitely have the option to give partial refunds, I’d definitely try and get something back for these dolls as the condition was misleading and should have been mentioned in the description!❤

For extra stubborn stains you can try applying the oxyclean powder on the stain and soak for a while in warm water. I just had something I did this too and it came out Also totally interested in the sundress medley doll
I remember it was a few years back now I bought 4 bags of dolls at Goodwill all in really good condition. Seven were Taylor Swift dolls, then there were Britney Spears, Hillary Duff and Miley Cyrus dolls, got them all for under 30 dollars for like 20 dolls. Didn't realize Taylor dolls were so pricey, good find that day, even came with some guitars.
It changes decently often but I REALLY like: I Hate it Here, Clean, Ivy, Exile, Long Live, Back to December, The Very First Night, Message in a Bottle, Fearless, Paper Rings… probably forgetting something but that’s what’s on the top of my head! :)

There’s a toy expo in my city and some guy who sells marvel figures had a random Taylor swift doll NIB, for only 10 dollars!! Im not a swifty but I bought it and resold it for 80. I know… we hate resellers. But it was a quick flip and sold right away LOL

You might be able to put her head back on if you have enough strength in your arms and hands, you just push down really hard and twist. Then you slowly pull back up into normal position and the joint that connects the two pieces should go back into place, if that little plastic piece out of the neck isn’t broken itself. Try it and let me know how it works.
And when you pull the head back up a little afterwards, twist it. And when you push it down. Twist it the whole time until you get it into normal position like it’s supposed to be.
hi brooke!! not a question related to the video, but have you ever come across a doll with a hair related factory error? yesterday i picked up a doll that’s supposed to have really gelled curls, but was sitting on the shelf completely straight with not a trace of gel (the only doll that wasn’t curled)
I hope you’re able to get at least a partial refund. you deserve to have been told what the condition the dolls were in. What that seller did was so dirty

I love how considerate you are of the future owner when you sell dolls, you really go above and beyond! also just out of curiosity, how did ebay handle the dispute? because all of that grime is so vile, and the blatant lying is crazy.. in my experience ebay usually sides with the buyer, so i'm hoping it all worked out for you 🩷
eBay changed the way disputes work so the only way to get a partial refund is if the seller volunteers to do so. So my only options were to accept defeat or to return them and I didn’t want to return them. It was a good deal regardless considering what these go for but it was absolutely unacceptable for the seller to intentionally hide these issues and then sass me and lie further when I sent a neutral message with no anger about it?? I just left incredibly bad feedback with pictures (I have NEVER left bad feedback on eBay. Not once have I felt that it would be right to do so even when I’ve been pretty obviously screwed over). Frustrating to reward the bad behavior because ultimately the seller won by getting the money at the end of the day and I didn’t dispute so she can continue to sell just fine (although I think my horrible feedback might cause problems).

You threaten them with bad feedback and they usually will give you a partial refund.

Plastic thing in her neck that sticks out. If that isn’t broken, it should go back into the rubber head base if you shove it really hard.
