From watching this video you made me want to give it another shot at growing out my natural nails long like your length at home. It has been 4 days and I haven't been bitting my natural nails. For someone like me who was a nail biter that's a huge improvement. Thanks again ☺
So you don't soak off the gel completely? I may starting doing this.. Gel base and then gel top coat, file off every couple of weeks the best you can and then reapply.. I use a top coat on top of my regular nail polish and that has helped a lot with strength.. but this seems good too! Thanks!
Your video was very informative! By the way, do you take any supplements? My nails have been really bad for a while. They split and peel before they even grow short, so I suspect I might be missing some vitamins.
Alles Liebe Barbara 😀🥰🥰
I tried doing this technique and it looks great. Just a quick question, so when I do this technique do I apply the gel base coat and then the gel top coat. Cure it , remove the tacky layer and use reqular nail polish. For you, once you notice the growth of the gel base coat do you remove all the gel base coat or do you do like a Refill By lightly buffing it ? And if so how many fills would you do before completing removing it
Each gel layer should be cured for the right amount of seconds/minutes indeed :) When using a topcoat with a tacky layer you should definitely remove that after curing, before going in with the regular nail polish to prevent any contamination. Usually when doing a new fill or layer when there's new growth, I file off all the topcoat and most of the base, but keeping a bit of the base so I won't file down onto the natural nails. This way they keep their natural strength and the nails won't get thin and brittle :)
I have a quick question do you get asked if your nails are real? I can relate if you do cause people assume mine are fake. I love your nails thank you for sharing
I love the idea of trying this. I've watched a couple of other videos of people doing it on nails with no previous gel on and they rough the surface of the natural nail first and use a dehydrating primer. Is that what you recommend too?
I personally don't like roughing up the natural nail that much, it only weakens the nail and that's not what you want to happen 😅 a dehydrator after a very slight buff is more than enough for my nails 😊
Your nails turned out beautiful 💕 Question: Do we need to use the gel top coat before applying the regular nail polish? Or is that just your preference?
Thank you :) I only use the gel base to give the topcoat something to grab onto and stay put. Also the base makes it easier to soak off when I want to remove it again. The gel base will always be sticky with a little bit of uncured gel, even after curing, so the topcoat is needed to seal it all in and to give me that little extra strenght I want :) Uncured gel is a bit of a hazard when it gets onto the skin etc. It can cause terrible eczema/rashes and so on when it's touching the skin, so I would always recommend going in with a topcoat first before using regular nail polishes on top like I do.
Do you have any tips for growing a thumb nail that keeps splitting? My right thumb on right side of the nail keeps doing this and breaks in that corner! Aggravating me!! Please help? I need some tips I've been trying everything. I just purchased nailtiques 2 plus formula. What would you do to help this nail grow strong? Linda
Hi I’m new to your channel I really want to try this but I have a question for you people do this with the gelish foundation have you ever tried it or even heard of it ? If so do think people will get the same results?
Happy Friday beautiful people! 💕

That's awesome :) I used to be a severe nail biter too, so I am sure you'll get to your desired length too :D

Yes, exactly! I only file back the gel until it is a thin layer, then clean and reapply gel base and topcoat 😊
These beautiful nails!!
Thank you! 😊
Thank you for this video. I will definitely begin using a gel top and base coat to save my nails. 🙏🏾 tfs 🥰
Glad it was helpful! :D

I never take any additional supplements, but I do try to eat loads of fruits and vegetables next to drinking at least 2 liters of water a day 😊

There's rarely a day I'm not asked that question 😅
Your nails are so perfect!
Oh thank you! :D That's so kind of you!
Nice video that nude is so beautiful and I Love the makeup look tf sharing sis
Thank you :)
Super Helpful and very informative thank you so much!!🥰 I will start growing out my nails! I want/love your nail length!!! 😍😭🤍 🇺🇸
💕✨
How long did it take for your nails to grow to that length?
About 3 to 4 months, my nails don't grow fast 😅

That's great! Thank you for clearing that up for me.
Do you buff your natural nail before applying base coat first time?
Not more than I do in the video 😊

@@femketjeNL okay thank you…This makes sense!
Do you apply the gel base coat and gel top coat as your daily nail care routine? Also how many time do you change your nail polish manicure?
Daily would be overkill for the nails, I refresh the gel every 2 to 3 weeks 😊
Beautiful nails!
Thank you! 😊

That's a tough one! I'd suggest to strengthen the entire nail surface with a thin layer of gel base and topcoat. That always helps me out :)
@@femketjeNL do you mean the kind that you cure under a light? linda
😍😍😍😍haaaa!!!beautiful nails!!!!🤗🤗🤗😚😚😚😚😚👌👌👌👌💕💕💕
Thank you so much!
I want to do this with hard gel but the consistency of hard gel doesn't polish like gel base coats 😫
It doesn't work as easy as polish indeed 😅 but I'm sure you can do it!
Thank you!!🤗😘
