    I had 2 c-sections back in 2013 & 2015 because my babies were breech. Now in 2024, I'm pregnant again. I'm due in about a month and fortunately, this baby is not breech 🙏🏼. I told my doctor that I'm going for a VBAC. He seems to be supportive, but not the hospital. I'm hopeful that my body will go into labor on its own just as it did with my previous two pregnancies and labor as long as I can at home so when I get to the hospital they don't give me such a hard time. The fewer interventions the better. As for now, I'm preparing my body and mind for the big day. I know my body can do it and the Lord is by my side 🙏🏼.

    Thank you very much. I had 2 c- sections for " stupid" reasons. Originally I and my babies in the womb were healthy, with head down, ..., but conditions were against our natural birth as in household ( heavy long travelling in late pregnancy, 35 weeks - a flights forced by life, deep tiredness as a result), as psychological aspects (a pressure in last weeks of pregnancy without real**reasons).
    Now I'm preparing myself as I can for a natural birth without medical interventions. The right Knowledges are big power plus qualitative relaxation. May God helps me and another women with similar situations to have a natural birth experience without medical interventions.

    You have no idea how much this video blessed me! You put mind at ease ! I’ve had 2 natural and 2 c section. Currently 38 weeks now and my doctors are pushing for a c section. What stood out to me most was your prayer and choice not talk about it to others. I made the decision to do vbac but so many family and friends keep saying follow the instructions of the doctor. My current ob has never had a c section so I don’t think she understands me.

    Unbelievably helpful! I’ve been researching all day for info and stories on Vbac after 2CS. I appreciate all this info. My friend had already given me info on a pro VBAC doc so I believe this is the plan. I prayed to God if he wanted me to have another baby it would happen. It was a prayer for (in my will) further down the road but I was pregnant weeks later! He’s got me and our baby. 😊

    Wow what a great video! With my last baby number 5 I was TOLAC. My first was a vaginal birth. 2nd cesarean because baby was breech. 3rd was VBAC. 4th was VBAC. I didn't do anything to prepare for baby 5 but pray and try to enjoy to the very end and I figured it would go smoothly because I already had 2 VBACs. Boy was I wrong. I went 41 weeks and no water in my sac trying to wait for this baby. I did everything except that labor drink to put myself in labor and my body would just not contract. I also didn't walk as much through pregnancy I don't know if that had something to do with it. I was devastated when my induction failed and thought maybe I should just do C-section. Even though I already had vaginal births, I still felt very very sad that she didn't come that way. At this time I had 4 toddlers and I thought how I'm I going to get through the healing process because my husband couldn't take much time off. But praise YHWH that He got me through it all. I think I didn't do enough to prepare myself. I also absolutely hate the epidurals just side note. And now I am pregnant with baby number 6, we are praying for a boy.
    I feel soo sooo soooooo nervous about labor and delivery. I don't want to do cesarean and I'm scared for some reason thinking of TOLAC.
    But I Praise Yah that He is with us.
    Thank you for the story.

    Thank you for encouraging Mommas to do VBACs. Lots of times Healthcare Providers are not encouraging that they just want you to have a C-Section and get it over with. I had an emergency c-section for my 1st boy, and my second c-section was planned. Now that you have shared your experience and tips you made me more comfortable to do a VBAC in the future for my 3rd children.
    Please continue to advocate for Women's health especially when topics like VBAC are not really discussed with Healthcare Providers. Remember C-Sections make more money than Vaginal births so Healthcare Providers always encourage Mothers to do go that route. Healthcare Providers do not encourage Mommas on a safer birthing plan like VBAC because it is a cheaper route.

    • @PregnancyBirthParenting101
      @PregnancyBirthParenting101  Рік тому

      Thank you for your kind words and I hope you get the beautiful VBAC you want. Unfortunately those bad apple providers give the rest of them a bad rep. I know many supportive providers who are very encouraging and for those that don't necessarily recommend it, they still support you're decision. Then of course sometimes you have an entire practice of doctors that won't even do a tolac after only one c-section! Which is in direct conflict of what the research says.

    You just gave me so much hope 🙏🏽 I’ve had two emergency C-sections and this go round I want to have a vbac I do not want another c-section. I’m going to do my part like you said go ahead and schedule the C-section but if God is going to bless me to have a vbac then I’m going to pray that God let’s me go into labor before the date and I’m going to ask those questions also. Thank you so much 😊

    Thank you for this.
    God just blessed me with my third pregnancy. (Literally, I’ve practiced FAM for 9 years and have never ovulated closer than 2 weeks from the end of my period and I ovulated the next day, right after sex.)
    I unexpectedly transferred from a birthing center to hospital, ending in c-sections with both boys. The first was HELLP syndrome with pre-eclampsia and the second was 4 days of labor, 4 hours of pushing at birthing center, and 7 hours of pushing with an epidural at the hospital (the epidural made his heart rate drop). My second son’s head was compacted in my pelvis, so the doctor had to make a secondary downward cut on my uterus to get him out, and the doctor tried to say he was too big for my pelvis (his head was 100%) and I have believed that for 3 years. Well, it turns out his head was actually at the exit point and could be seen for about 8 hours of the pushing phase, so he made it past my pelvis.
    My husband also watched as the doctor spent about 5 minutes cutting away scar tissue before stitching me up and a c-section recovery specialist found scar tissue adhesions on basically all of my organs and expanded throughout my abdomen. She managed to break several of them apart and fix the bladder prolapse the adhesion attached to it caused.
    I’m trying for a VBA2C but it’s a completely different plan. My midwife isn’t available during my birth month, so I will wait for active labor and my husband, therapist/doula, and I will go to my chosen hospital. I haven’t decided if I want to choose a doctor before the transfer or go in ER style.
    I’m also trying to prepare for a c-section, since the two different types of anesthesia didn’t work during the surgeries. My biggest fear is that my anxiety of the surgery will cause my hypnosis not to work and I will feel 100% of the surgery.
    My goal is to allow the baby to get the benefit of labor and pushing (helps with breathing and vaginal bacteria helps with gut health) and see how I’m progressing. I don’t want to experience another freak out transfer or unexpected c-section.
    I’m trying to put my trust in God For this and remember I made it through the other c-sections and have knowledge of my pitocin allergy and other interventions I can not comply with. I kinda wish God would just tell me if I will have a c-section or vaginal birth but I’ve got no answer. He has told me so many other aspects about this pregnancy and my birth team plan, but this is the part I always get the “you must have faith” answer. I did get an answer of “No, don’t fear. I will take care of you and your children.” from Exodus. So, I’m trying to hold onto that.

      Curious to know what happened ? What kind of delivery did you have in the end?

    • @kristadavis2825
      @kristadavis2825 8 місяців тому +2

      @ nosaibasfood It was amazing! So, God led me to a doctor that worked at a specific hospital when I was almost 30 weeks pregnant because my week of blood sugar tests showed I had gestational diabetes. This was the only provider willing to take me and 100% understanding of me wanting a VBA2C due to my excessive scaring and anesthesia not working. She was located 2 hours away.
      Due to my history we expected me to go into labor around 35-37 weeks. I did go into prodromal labor then and stayed in that stage and at 5 cm dilated for 4 weeks. The doctor and I both agreed not to risk forcing anything. I was basically in my second birth’s active labor of contractions every 2-3 minutes that entire time but my entire birth team agreed my body needed proper alignment for anything to work. I saw a chiropractor that specialized in pregnancy every week, a scar tissue and womb specialist that removed all adhesions and allowed my left side to actually expand and broke the scar blockage on my right side that even my husband could feel by touching my stomach, a pelvic floor therapist that did a ton of work vaginally and rectally due to a rotated tailbone and messed up muscles, and my birth doula did my PTSD therapy to release triggers.
      I had so many people praying for me.
      Well, my doctor and entire team, except doula, went on Christmas vacation (non of them were expecting me to last 4 weeks in labor). I woke up on December 22, 2022 at 12:30 in a transition, an intensity I have never felt. I was stuck on the toilet for about an hour with contractions every minute emptying myself with only about 30 seconds of rest. I screamed for help with everyone sleeping through it. I finally managed to get my husband and told him to call everyone. He tried to get me back in bed thinking labor would slow or stop like it had done every day that month. Nope, I was literally punching walls. He called the closest family to watch our boys since my aunt wouldn’t be there for 30 minutes. We managed to get me up in the truck when my water broke so hard I was launched into the back seat (I was facing it to keep my belly hanging since 2nd baby flipped face up during the ride to the hospital last time). I got whiplash from the intensity but didn’t realize it until after the adrenaline wore off (my chiropractor easily fixed my neck). As soon as the water broke (which was one big gush and not the repeated trickle I was warned about) the pain went away. The contractions were still one on top of another but not painful. Hubby ran in for towels then hit the gas. He was going so fast because it was a freeze and no cars on the highway he topped out the speedometer trying to keep in front of the ice storm.
      Well, 5 minutes down the road I yelled for him to stop. He managed to pull off on a tank farm road where the state occasionally parks equipment close to the highway. In the process he some how called 911 at the same time I managed to flip over with my right leg on the seat and left leg on the floor and pull my diaper off (FYI, it cannot hold that much liquid). The baby’s head popped out and then his body slid out onto the seat and into hubby’s arms. He had his left arm up like Superman. He was born at 2:39AM without any pain or help from me. Literally felt like a bubble going through my body.
      I had prayed for no stitches and I didn’t get any. My swelling was so bad that 4 people missed my small tear from his knuckles but it healed on its own beautiful.
      It took 20 more minutes for the ambulance to get there due to the ice. Baby was doing great but my FIL had to get on the phone to tell the staff to take me to the hospital of my choice (he trained them). Thankfully, God led us to that hospital because 12 hours later baby needed NICU for breathing issues . Doctors couldn’t figure out what was going on and he still had difficulty when we brought him home on Christmas Day but a friend recommended a homeopathic specialist who had him better in days of treatment. The hospital was also a blessing because they gave me free care since they basically did nothing for me and being cash pay only had to pay a portion of the baby’s hospital fee, except the specialists who we had a discounted payment plan with. The doctor actually made sure we knew to prepare for all this when we first met her so that we could have the benefits cash pay comes with in the 10 day window you get and since she was on vacation, but technically made all choices for my care she didn’t charge me a doctor’s fee.
      So, everything I prayed for was answered, even the sign of my water breaking at home meaning I would have a vaginal birth, we just weren’t expecting the truck.

Someone in a group told me that was from all the cervical checks but I’m not sure. My first the infection was coming out of my wound and second the infection was coming out vaginally. God promised more children for me but I am terrified I do not want another caesarean 😭. I still cry til this day because what I went through but so blessed to be here and with my babies.

    I am crying while watching. I felt like I was listening to my own birth experience for both of my children. There was a lot of intervention with both children. I was induced with my first born & my body just didn't dilate enough quickly. Labor was far too long & his head got stuck in the birth canal, it was cone shaped at birth. My second I feel like I was scared into an early induction at 37 weeks which eventually led to the c section that the hospital doctors was pushing me... I was sooo broken hearted and depressed at having double c sections. I felt cheated out of birthing my babies and the entire experience. I'm praying and hoping that if start doing things right this time around I will be able to have a vbac & get the true experience of bringing my child into this world.

    Wow this was so helpful! Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I had similar experience although mine was that I had a natural birth with my 1st child then followed by two c-section. First C-S 2nd child I wanted natural birth but my child became to stressed during labour and heart rate was dropping so I ended up in emergency c-section. 3rd child went to the hospital due to some pain I was having, big mistake. I should have tried to manage at home before running to the hospital. Ended being admitted, I was given medication, which sent me into labour, I was 36weeks at that time. This time I was adamant about wanting a natural birth. My dr was away on vacation so I had another dr who to care of things. He advised against natural birth due to my previous c-section. I was forced to make a decision quickly as my child heart rate kept dropping. Ended with 2nd c-section. 8yrs later now preparing for baby #4 this video gave me hope of natural birth. I know I will have a natural birth again. I can feel it and see it happening. Preparing myself both physically and mentally.

    Hi Haley! I’m currently on my third pregnancy. First one was a c section traumatic (sedated and we were not able to see baby until 3 hours later) and then I was pregnant with twins a surprise c section and I was alone (husband was out of town)! This time I really really want to have a vaginal birth with my husband and mom there. Thank you for your video! It has given me hope!

    I needed to see this because I wasn’t sure that it was possible!! Now that I know I WILL do my research as you suggested. I’m in my second trimester and my son is due on July 17!! Very excited and nervous but hopeful now! I had my first traumatic experience of a birth with my daughter around the same age as you. I can’t remember the whole birth and then with my son 10 years later. Beautiful birth but he breached at the final moments before he came out. I hope to have the experience of vaginal with my 3rd little one☺️🥹

    🤩 This was awesome and EXTREMELY encouraging! My family and I just moved to the Raleigh area in North Carolina. We just found out we're expecting our 3rd baby. Our 1st two were c-sections--and I honestly believe that that was the doctor's choice as I went into labor with both my babies. Do you have any suggestions on how to find supportive doctors online? My husband and I both want to try for a trial of labor. That would be such a blessing!

    • @PregnancyBirthParenting101

      I would call the hospital where you are delivering, ask to speak to the charge nurse then ask her what doctors does she know that are supportive of VBACs. They're the best resource because they work with all the doctors and see the way they practice and provide care for their patients. If they're busy then try calling at another time. Shift change is around 7, so don't call between 6-8. Pm or am.

      I ended up having to have another c section unfortunately. Baby was low on amniotic fluid and the placenta wasn’t doing very good and during every contraction his heart rate would drop so we decided doing the c section would be safer for everyone

      You're experience is the one you're supposed to have, but I had complications during my first labor and delivery where my body was in a hypermetabolic state and metabolizing the medication rapidly, so I frequently had break through pain. Definitely not an experience I would wish in anyone and it's incredibly rare. Also, most anesthesiologists will put you under general anesthesia (put you to sleep) if you're experiencing any problems.

    Ik it's wrong but I still hold a grudge on the hospital where I got my C-Section at. My epidural failed and being a young mom no one listened to me when I said it came out. I ended up having to opt for a C-Section because of the instant excruciating pain and wasn't able to see my baby for 5+ hours including the time I had to recover. It was depressing at the moment and even worse to think about later on. I was blessed to have someone to be able to go with my baby so he wouldn't be alone but I wish It was different. I wanted my skin-to-skin contact, to be able to breastfeed normally. I'm pregnant with my second now at 22 years old and having another one is one of my fears (I won't say worst fear, but it's defintiely up there).

      You are so welcome! I used nitrous oxide and got in the tub for a while, but then got the epidural around 7cm. It was the right choice for me. I wanted to enjoy and be present for my birth experience and I found at that point I really wasn’t able to do that and I was really struggling coping with the contractions. I was also utterly exhausted and it allowed me to get a good nap in before time to push. I had them do a low rate, so it took my contraction pain away for the most part, but still allowed me to feel that I was contracting and allllllll the pressure sensations lol.

    • @PregnancyBirthParenting101
      @PregnancyBirthParenting101  2 роки тому +2

      Two years and seven months between my second and third birth. Two years and beyond is optimal because it gives the scar on your uterus time to heal and be stronger therefore reducing your chances of having a uterine rupture (your scar opening up during labor). That being said, discussing your individual case with a pro VBAC provider will help you decide if it's the right choice for you or not by going over all scenarios, risks, and benefits.

I'm 39 weeks 3 days and I'm preparing for VBAC-2 how I'm able in my conditions and as you told another part is in a Lord hands 🙏 I denied a vaginal examination and SWEEP on 38th week. I was not ready for it. Did you made a SWEEP?

    Going for a vba2c after 5 years. Due 8-7-21. One did research etc if she doesn’t come at 40 weeks we will be induced with pitocin which was the reason for my first csection soo terrified I’m set up for failure.

    • @missthomas8754
      @missthomas8754 3 роки тому +1

      There is no medical reasoning to have to go into labor by 40 weeks. It’s another convenience measure for your doctor to check you off the list. You can and should refuse the induction if not absolutely medically necessary. Your vbac DEPENDS on your refusal to do things that are not medically absolutely necessary.

    I’ve had two C-sections. First one being an emergency. I had a bad infection of my uterus afterwards.
    I’m pregnant with my third and would love to do a vbac2. A little nervous about it. The first birthing experience was trauma. My baby was sunny side up, I was 10cm dilated and she wouldn’t come out. She was also over 8lbs. This baby I’m pregnant with is expected to be 9 lbs. I really pray this vbac is a possibility for me. Plus im 35. They make me out to be high risk.

    I’m really wanting a vbac with my twins… my doctors are also positive about vaginal delivery with my twins until they hear that I’ve had a past cesarean then it changes to well if you come in and labor I’ll definitely see what happens but don’t get your hopes up.. I’m 32 weeks today and “twin a” is head down ready to go (hes been head down since like 23 weeks) and “twin b” is transverse but looks like he’ll go head down.. I’ve even had a previous vaginal delivery with my daughter (my first) they were also a little concerned because “twin A” has a cystic kidney so he’s kinda swollen and they don’t want him “to get stuck” but I’m not worried about that at all because my daughter was 8.6 lbs and I got her out In less than 30 mins. How do I get them to see I can do this and it’s what I want even mental health wise The doctor I had with my son (the cesarean) has a reputation of telling women they “need a csection” when they don’t.. and the next day One of my other doctors asked me if I “got in a hurry” and the dr that did the surgery apologized to me for doing one….it really messed me up and I don’t remember most of the first bit of my sons life.. obviously if a C-section is needed i’m not gonna sit there and say no lol but i’m just worried if I don’t at least try I’ll go through the depression and shut down again and even though it’s twins I feel like I’m a really good candidate Plus we plan on having more kids even though we already have four.. and so I don’t want next time it to be “we’ll you’ve had 2, let’s just do another” or “you can’t have any more kids this makes 3 csections”…

      Girl you can absolutely do this! Tell them what your plan is, sign whatever papers they need you to sign and don't schedule a C-section date unless it's medically necessary. You are a GREAT candidate for a VBAC!

      @@emmiparsa9786 Absolutely! I was induced at 37 weeks already dilated to a 2. As soon as I got to the hospital the first thing they did was broke my water even though I was crying and told them that’s not what I wanted I wanted to have it break naturally.. guess I should specify my doctor said it up to where another doctor was at the hospital pretty much doing my induction so I can have two doctors there instead of just one but that dr said they pretty much had to with an induction. Otherwise Pitocin alone wouldn’t have done anything which I know is a lie but anyway they broke my water. And shortly after They started Pitocin. Another thing that I didn’t want but they told me had to happen was an internal monitor on baby A’s head let’s just say I was very emotional but I felt better when I talked to my doctor. When we start pitocin they checked me and said that baby A’s hand was on top of his head 🙆🏼‍♂️ and that if he didn’t move it it’s an automatic csection if his hand comes out. So I kept laboring until I got to a point where all I wanted was to know if I was making any progress no one was really checking on me no one cared how high the monitors got. My doctor wasn’t the one working the hospital he was actually at the ob office so every once in a while he would come to the hospital check on me and go back to take care of his other patients. All I wanted was to know how much I was dilated and they refused to check me until I got my epidural I tried to tell them if I’m close I don’t want an epidural but if I still have a long ways to go then yeah. Eventually my doctor came in and told me if you’re in pain I would go ahead and get the epidural because there’s a very high possibility that this is going to turn into a C-section last minute and if you don’t have an epidural we have to put you to sleep and your husband hast to leave the room. And I didn’t want that at all so I got the epidural they FINALLY checked me and I was at a 7! (Which probably would’ve gave me the energy to push through but it’s whatever) since they gave my an epidural which is kind of what they’ve been waiting on they cranked my Pitocin again it probably wasn’t even an hour and they came in to check me and said you’re ready to push well since I’m having twins they made me go to the OR room just in case they had to do an emergency C-section. Keep in mind my doctor was nowhere inside he was still at the OB office they told me to do a “practice push” (as if I’ve never gave birth before😂) so I gave them a freaking practice push😂 they said yup keep going before you know it there was a baby. One of the nurses said she literally went to get scrubbed in turned around and there was already a baby. The anesthesiologist was literally still pinching my stomach trying to prove to the doctor that I was perfectly numb for a C-section and I prove to her I didn’t need one😂🤷🏼‍♀️ so anyway at this point I have a baby on my stomach and my doctor is walking in. I’m trying to hold Baby A the best of my ability (he’s still attached) when my doctor comes over everybody freaks out just a tad and he just starts pushing down on my stomach as hard as he can trying to keep baby B from Breaking his neck or going into shock apparently as soon as the first baby was born baby Bs feet came out. Like feet to feet (which I probably should’ve mentioned at the start baby A was the only baby head down baby B was in a position where he was head and feet up they didn’t know which way he would flip but having two doctors they were willing to do a footling breach delivery) well as soon as the other doctor grabbed baby B’s feet his water broke and it kind of became a time pressured type of thing. My doctor pushing on my stomach the other doctor trying to Guide the baby out and everybody screaming for me to push😂 I pushed till they told me to stop because they had to get it his shoulders through then they told me to push for more and bam there was a beautiful little blue boy. He wasn’t breathing.. he wasn’t moving. I don’t know if you know what an Apgar score is but it goes up to nine he got a two. Baby A got nine out of nine. The doctor said i’m sorry but I’m cutting his cord (so that the nurses could work on him because usually they leave the cord on for cord care to let them get the last bit of nutrients in the cord) I said yeah! yeah! That was the first time in my life I was so happy to hand my baby over. Because I didn’t know what to do I was trying to rub on him and get him breathing but every time I would try anything the doctors would yell at me and say stop moving him he’s still attached. It’s was the scariest moment ever. They get the afterbirth take care of and bring me baby A Who I start to nurse. They start to take me out of the room my husband and I had already agreed considering we’re having twins there’s a high probability that one of them or both of them would have to go to the nicu I told him to stay with baby B which they weren’t really happy with but one of the nurses there was amazing and she said give us just a minute we have him doing good. So they wheeled me back to my room holding baby A which my mom was very eagerly waiting (this was in like a 20 minute time span by the way like from leaving my room to coming back 20 mins the babies official time of birth was 2 MINUTES APART!!! Yeah I did all that in 2 MINUTES!) everyone at the nurses station looked at me like what the heck weren’t you just wheeled back😂😂🤷🏼‍♀️ including my mom who was just worried about why I only had one baby but we are very blessed because right behind me was my husband and all of the nurses that were in the room with me pushing a cart with my other baby boy in it. They told me that I needed to feed him immediately because he just went through a big shock and he needed that one on one time. So my husband and mom got to see baby A for a bit while I fed baby B no nicu time the entire stay! I got to keep my babies in my room the entire time! They weighed A-6.7lbs B-5.2lbs. I had to give baby B a little formula to keep his sugar in check but other than that. Overall everything went amazing.. because my dr was helping me he didn’t “technically deliver” either boy. And I had a lot of postpartum depression in the hospital over that. But he told me “I’m your doctor I was making sure you were safe. I did my job don’t worry about me.” I love that dr he was actually the one that delivered me. The twins will be a year old the 29th of this month both healthy and happy! Baby As kidney is taking care of it’s self he has to see a kidney specialist every 6 months to make sure it’s doing what it’s supposed to. Baby B is fine now still a bit smaller but you can’t tell much. They are both sitting up really well now they can’t stand or walk yet but that’s just because of them being twins. Now I have a daughter (about to turn 4, 5 days after the twins turn 1) a son (2, 3 in October) and twin boys (about to be 1)💖💙💙💙 I really hope my story helps you.❤️

      Absolutely! You just have to make sure that your provider and where you will give birth is supportive of you doing a VBAC.
