love this having been in a situation where the Duty Sgt had to us a fogger on a crowed of about 20 and how even we got affected by it. but watching people going from surrounding us getting hostel to screaming and running away and splashing puddle water on each other priceless lol.
I carry SABER also! The flip top is better than the safety. I "stage" my can in my pocket, top down. The can gets turned around. The can with the safety. it's hard to feel the safety with my thumb. The safety might accidentally get turned on & ya get an AD in your pocket. When I pull the can out, I shake it up.
Pepper spray is the last thing in my edc. Once again I do a search and there you are. And once again a great video with the answers to the questions I've been thinking. I've never had or used one of them. I gave a big and little one to my late wife, long ago, but I know nothing about them. My only experience was once when we had to call the police for assistance with a crazy dude. They sprayed him good at 12 inches as he was fighting them on the ground. He got loose and they chased him a block, then they chased him back to us. At about that time ( 1 or so minutes after they sprayed ) he suddenly stopped running, fell to his knees and started screaming, "My eyes!" ... Tweaker ... those drugs retard reaction time. After that I was worried I'd only spray myself with one of those. But again, now as a senior, I'm having a rethink. Thank you, very helpful.
Thank You for making these kind of videos, really enjoy and learn from them. What are your thoughts on the gun type pepper sprays that shoot out balls of pepper spray? They look like they could get the job done lol. Again thankyou and keep up the great work.
The police magnum 2oz canister comes with a belt holster which is convenient for everyday carry. They also have one that is 4 or 5 oz that comes with a belt holster.
I like 2 main brands. Fox five point three and Sabre Red 3 in 1. I've thought about getting a big can like you had even a bear spray. Also I prefer the spray to the fogger
Do wish we could get access to that in Australia. But can't carry anything for self defence . But that's all right we have nice criminals who understand . They wait till they hear the siren then continue to rob you . Very sporting of them .
Any government true to democracy is only as strong as the people allow it. Those who voted and passed the laws to take your guns and right to self defense were voted in… Take back what was taken and vote them out.
I've only had to use pepper spray twice in real life - both times on dogs. I was extremely impressed with how well it worked, and the dogs seemed to be even more impressed than I was. 😅
It's crazy...I am worried about some people messing with me, enemies one would say. I was considering c&c, but it seems like more trouble than it is worth, wheras pepper spray seems to be a more effecrive tool. Maybe I will still work toward my c&c, but seems like for my situation, this would be preferable. I hear voices anyway, apparently that means I shouldn't have a gun (they might tell me hurt someone and I might...disobey?) Scary times guys...
It's also important for people that are carrying pepper spray for self-defense. Know what and where your pepper spray is, what pocket? Don't stick your pepper spray in a pocket of jeans or any other pair of pants that are too tight or you'll be on your back seeing stars before you've deployed it. Practice deploying your spray and hit a paper target with it at a relative distance. Buy one or two extra cans of spray to practice accuracy with the spray and have an extra one for carry. Thank you, Daniel, for the helpful video. 😎👍✌️
Do you have to hit the face for it to be effective? (I noticed you got some on your finger) What is the difference between this and bear spray? Thanks!!
Those of us who bank fish in wooded remote areas face a new threat from the homeless and migrants who roam remote areas. I did not see anything on the Police Magnum website about the heat of the spray; that information would be helpful. For Outdoor Pepper spray, something really hot, cone pattern spray, 16 ounces, and perhaps with a little tear gas would be something I would be interested in. I want something a little robust for my outdoor use because I will not be in a crowd to worry about overspray. What do you know about the heat of this product?
FYI: I contacted Police Magnum and I asked them about their pepper spray specification. The reply was "Our pepper sprays contain 10% OC and 1.33% Total capsaicinoids (which is the true test of heat)". This is good and the 1.33% Total capsaicinoids is the same as Sabre brand I have been carrying, which is now out of date and must be replaced.
You have to be careful when using OC spray inside. If you'er in a small room, with poor ventilation, OC spray will contaminate the air & effect everyone in the room!
@RavenFire99 You don't get it! The OC spray hangs in the air like a mist & will affect everyone in the small, unventilated space! Your not spraying yourself in the face!
For your channel only. The best kept secret is… But first a word. Doing security for several years now, I noticed that when the police deployed OC (pepper spray) the recipient screamed louder and for a longer period of time. Why was mine just some cursing and a desire for water? The answer my friend, was blowing in the wind😮 jk. Really tho it’s the number .on the can. What you want, and you do want it, is this. Most OC shows this on the can, 1.33 Major Capsaicinoids. And the can almost always says as a SELLING POINT, FOR POLICE USE ONLY. BULL 💩. I noticed on an officers vest one day, clearly labeled on the can, 5.0 . This was Sabre brand, meaning 5%, But more importantly instead of 1.33 major capsaicin, it read 1.67 major capsaicinoids. There’s a big difference in the screaming both in duration and decibels. One may compensate for the lack of formula intensity with quantity, but why? Always check your numbers. PS Marking dyes dilute the formula.
Thanks for the video. Am I right in understanding that only the third canister caused you to get pepper spray on your fingers? That's the only one you showed putting pepper spray on your hand. To me, that disqualifies the third one as a good option. In a bad situation, I might not always be able to wash my hands immediately, and something might happen where I have to wipe my face. That could lead to pepper spray getting in my eyes. The small ones are obviously the best choices in close quarters. As I watched each of them, the first one seemed to have the least risk of rebound into the user. By putting out a mist, this canister reduces the chances of anything bouncing off an attacker and affecting the defender. On the other hand, the short range makes this one seem to be the most limited. Ideally, I'd be able to act while the attacker was still at a distance of four to eight feet. Obviously, that depends on my situational awareness, but as you've mentioned in past videos, every self-defense tool depends to some extent on an individual's situational awareness. The two big ones put out more of a mist than I was expecting. Those would be dangerous to use if the attacker was coming from upwind. I wish that they both produced larger droplets that would form less of a mist and be less affected by wind. Even so, these are great choices for when one can anticipate the attack and take action while the attackers are still more than ten or fifteen feet away. Ideally, a defender would always like to keep attackers at some distance. We're in a tough situation these days. When I think of the self-defense scenario in Kenosha in 2020, the defender faced three attackers. The pedophile wasn't armed, and he might have stopped if he'd gotten a good spray of this stuff. He wasn't a tough guy, and maybe he could have been stopped. The wife beater was armed with a skateboard. He'd have needed to be sprayed from a distance of ten or fifteen feet to keep him from hitting his victim with a skateboard. Even then, he might have gone through the streets swinging the skateboard and harming other people. The armed robber was carrying a pistol. If he'd been sprayed, he might still have fired rounds from the pistol. One of these rounds might have hit the defender even if the armed robber hadn't seen well. He might also have hit other bystanders when he started shooting. I'm glad that he was wounded in the arm so that he was unable to shoot anyone. Many of the people who are causing problems are basically cowards. Some of them find ways to arm themselves with firearms, but many have nothing more than small blades and blunt objects. They are still dangerous, but they are not tough. If they were sprayed well with pepper spray, they would stop fighting. The problem is that some of them continue to obstruct. I've seen news footage where they lock arms and continue to block intersections after being sprayed. If someone must escape a terrible situation, one might still need to drive over the terrorists even after they've been sprayed with pepper spray. That's a horrible outcome, but if the pepper spray keeps them from disabling a vehicle, then the pepper spray has done something worthwhile. If you are doing a full series on pepper spray, you might want to review some of the cleaners that are specifically designed to remove pepper spray. If I were going to carry pepper spray, I'd be interested in having some of those products to clean my hands quickly as I escaped the situation.
In the home nope, other options are ready but outside of the home, yup. Now imagine pepper gel/spray of that make followed by hornet pellets at 400+ fps. That's like being attacked by a bunch of angry wasp and a skunk at the same time 😅
America has lots of problems being armed is their choice. That will not keep you safe in England or Australia ect . There are idiots everywhere. And some of them are violent.

They probably got infections bathing in street runoff water
Great video brother thanks ordering several big spray cans
I'd go with pepper gel. I prefer gel because it sticks to the target and is much less affected by wind blowback. Also more accurate.
I’ve been using Police Magnum for years now..Thank you for the video!
My pleasure!
Good partnership brother! My state [ca] limits our possession to 2oz but we can have all the ''bear spray'' we want.
Thanks my friend!
I carry SABRE brand pepper gel, pocket size with a flip top. The gel includes UV marking dye.
I carry SABER also! The flip top is better than the safety. I "stage" my can in my pocket, top down. The can gets turned around. The can with the safety. it's hard to feel the safety with my thumb. me too. even after the expiration date they've always worked at retirement.

Good choice!

Good quality pepper spray is very effective and a great additional tool in the bag, get some inert cans to do some practice with.
Good information. Thanks

good video--thx! what is the shelf life of these sprays?
Thank God they got that pistol grip on that, that recoil looks intense 🤣. I would definitely prefer a fog spray like the 16oz and 24oz.
Great video! Very informative!
Thank You my Friend! 💪🇺🇸
Thank you!
I'm gonna get some, thanks

Pepper spray is so underrated.
Agreed!
I'm gonna go on there site and buy all 4 of them for differant senarious great video my friend.
Awesome thank you!
love Police Magnum!! Nice vid
Thank you!
Do you have to hit the face for it to be effective? (I noticed you got some on your finger) What is the difference between this and bear spray? Thanks!!
the 16 oz would fit in my army surplus field jacket pocket.
Cool
Good video. Thanks, man. I bought two cans, 1 for me and 1 for my boss lady 9oz bottle's

I’m not 100% sure. I have only heard not to leave them in the car during the summer.

Just a little tip to help anyone out don't leave a can of pepper spray in your vehicle on a very hot day.
You have to be careful when using OC spray inside. If you'er in a small room, with poor ventilation, OC spray will contaminate the air & effect everyone in the room!
Very true 👍💯
It'll get you a tiny bit but it'll hit the attacker with a huge stream. So yeah you get hit by a particle or so. Just don't walk into your mist.
Yeah and also don’t spray yourself in your own face. Like duh
@RavenFire99 You don't get it! The OC spray hangs in the air like a mist & will affect everyone in the small, unventilated space! Your not spraying yourself in the face!

Pepper spray vs Bear spray?
I want to get some bear spray. Probably worse and more painful than pepper spray.
Should I get this or Fox labs?
I’ve never tested FOX labs but I think these work well
Go big or go home 😉
Another great video.
Thanks!
Thanks for the video.

You can always use bear spray
Is it legal in N.Y. City?
You may have to check I’m not sure
They can explode on their own?
I would think so, if kept in high temperatures
Pepper spray is illegal in Canada. I do like to grow habs, though. :D
I wonder if bear spray is as effective?
LOL I would hope so, a human is far weaker than a Grizzly
This vs fox labs?
I haven’t tried fox labs, but I’ll have to look at them
Good stuff👍.🇺🇲🔪🔥🌲
Does dis work on bears 🐻?
I believe it would, but typical bear spray spray’s farther
You need to encounter a Bigfoot
Haha that would be a real test
Wyoming has its share of Bigfoot. Dubois Wyoming has one that screams in the afternoons. It will make every hair on your body stand on end
and don't water the plants either, IYKWIM.
I’m nearly insecure enough to watch this but as I don’t live in overarmed America -I don’t need it.
