The pub in East Howdon was called the Duke of Wellington. There was a social club in the council estate until recently. Bit of an isolated place now it's been by passed and nowhere to have a drink.
Yay, another drive around Newcastle are. Yes life can happen and makes for not having time to do things like these driving all over the place videos. Totally expected and understandable. It's nice to get a video whenever you have the time to post one. Ok looking up some fun facts on Google for this since you mentioned it. . .In 794 Jarrow became the second target in England of the Vikings, who had plundered Lindisfarne in 793. Vikings raided Jarrow Monastery in 794 AD, and set fire to it, but the Viking leader was captured and killed by the locals! That could be the Viking connection thing you were wondering about. That's quite a long tunnel, is that one that goes under the river? Oh boy the sewage place must really smell to make the area sink on hot days. I will admit I'm fascinated by the roundabouts. We've only had them here in my town in Canada for a couple of years, we had many accidents went hey first went in (funny enough they got put in to cut down on accidents at stop light intersections). Not as many accidents these days but anyone who's from an area that doesn't have the roundabouts has no idea how to drive through them properly.. . .and usually causes some sort of accident. Ok I'll give it a go at the guessing of the old house address . . . 17 Brunton Street? Doing the google map street view (plus rewatch of the first video) and it seems to be that one with the tree out front and just around that corner from Percy Ct . . .Ya I know I'm the Canadian who watches these videos and opens up Google Maps to try to see where in Newcastle the streets are so I can discover other things about the areas you drive around.
Hey, how are you doing? Great ti hear from you again. Thanks for the info about the Vikings, you've saved me a job. It all makes sense now. Yes, the tunnel goes under the River Tyne which is the only road crossing East of Newcastle, it can get busy during rush hour. You're almost there with the address, not quite though :)
