It’s reassuring to know that Shutaro isn’t the only one that wasn’t a fan of how the DS games deviated from Ayami Kojima’s art style. At least she ended up drawing those characters later on for Harmony of Despair.
#STRFORSHUTARO I love that Shutaro wants to make HOD2 and battle of1999. Those are literally the last two bits of castlevania I wish we had. Bloodstained is great, but wish we had that final CV game.
It was so fun to be apart of this, and getting to see perspective from the talented creatives who made these works we adore so much ☺️ Best wishes to Shutaro!
9:45 that's interesting, I thank him for that. Whip characters are the entire reason I like the series, it made it different. Sir is on point imo. #STRFORSHUTARO
Also wow, it seems like my suspicions about OoE’s placement in the timeline were correct. I always assumed there was some behind-the-scenes reason as to why they made the date ambiguous. Interesting that IGA initially thought OoE sounded like a side story lol. Good to know.
Same! I was most curious to see that Shutaro basically wrote Order of Ecclesia by himself with a bit of input from IGA. Always going in with the intention is would be a gaiden 😮 Kind of wild that having the focus off the Belmonts & Morris Clan allowed for probably THE more personal story in this series. It absolutely worked out imo
First to be here and what an honor it is to have the chance to talk to Shutaro and IGA. May Shutaro's fight against cancer be strong and his recovery be well and speedy. Don't give up Shutaro! We're rooting for you!! #STRFORSHUTARO
Yeah the choice to move away from the gothic artstyle was a really bad move but at least they moved back to it with order of Ecclesia, Shanoa is still to this day one of the best and my personal favorite female character design in any game. I cant wait for some news on Bloodstained 2
Great to have some insight behind the scenes- best insight on my behalf is seeing how they divided up the task of writing the game, who was responsible for what parts and so on. Feels like we seldom get a glimpse like that into Japanese games, so I appreciate having it here. Finally, I wish him the beat in his battle against cancer.
To be fair, most people aren't fans of how the DS trilogy looked like (character wise), so it's understandable. Also nice to see a proper answer about OoE spot on the time-line! I can only wish you the fastest recovery Shutaro-san!

Aw dang, I was totally a fan of that deviation in art style. Maybe I'll steal it and make my own anime Metroidvanias :D

Hopefully his recovery goes smoothly. I can't begin to express how much the games he worked on mean to me.
