      It's funny isn't it, that you should say that,because in a lot of ways that is true,it's just a shame that a movie based on the devil is more popular than the word of God,remember the orgininal version of Bedazzled acutally uses real quotes from the bible, becase the new version decied to omit it for some strange reason, maybe it is because at that time, it would have been more unpopluar to use bible quotes like they did in the original film,which is acutally English/British film starring Peter Cook and Dudley moore,but this is the american version.
      and as this is just a remake,but it's not a bad remake but it's not amazing en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bedazzled_(1967_film) .

      @TheVoicz 7 років тому +56

      Most likely, from the director, it was "God" speaking to him. You can't tell me that both aren't able to talk? You have to remember, if God or the Devil does exist, it all comes down to Lucifer asking for forgiveness, good and evil would completely be wiped out solely on 3 words, "Please forgive me."
      Also, the chess playing as the original topic, was more so meant to be talking to each other.
      Nothing wrong with talking, even through the Holy War, there are some sacred grounds they only just do that.
      Talk.
      This is coming from a person who doesn't directly believe in "Him" or "Her". I do believe there is an existence of it all, just my observation.

    • @TheVoicz
      @TheVoicz 7 років тому +20

      So "God" is supposed to chastize him then and there? Who said "He" couldn't be a friend? Who said "He" had to be the smiter of smiters?
      How couldn't you tell he just allowed him/her to do so? It can be the other way around as well.
      Also, on the DVD commentary, the director already specifically said it was who you thought it would be lol, so the DVD wins.

    I’m an alienated dad, who’s been fighting to see my twin daughters for almost 3 years. I always come back to this scene, this song.. this is one of the few scenes in any movie, that speaks to your soul and let’s you know everything will be ok

    • @aqua6613
      @aqua6613 Рік тому +3

      It will be OK. Whoever is keeping them from you will probably be alienated from them for the rest of their lives once they become old enough to realize the truth.
      Just keep the faith and keep reaching out and making attempts and maybe write them letters or store up some things for them during the time that you are separated because when they come back and they will, you will have things to show that you cared for them even being apart.
      Take it from a daughter who was manipulatively and selfishly alienated from her Dad.
      Unfortunately I was too late to get back to him in the physical...he had passed already.
      But God is so good...I prayed one time and asked God if my Dad had been saved the way I was...the very next day I was able to visit my cousin who is a staunch atheist.
      I love my cousin a lot so I was just happy to spend time with him and his family.
      Out of nowhere he told me that my dad had come to him and told him about Jesus Christ being his Lord and savior....and he said that he didn't know why he told him because he didn't believe in that shit.
      My chin dropped because it was what I wanted to know. It was literally like God making the rock cry out.
      Since then I have had peace about the time I missed with my Dad and I know we will spend eternity together and I don't have any more questions about what happened with him because his mom filled me in on all the tea before she also went to be with the Lord.
      It's because of these things I put my faith and trust in Him.
      The worst thing that can happen to a person is somehow perceive that their father doesn't love them...but God the Father is the perfect Father.
      All I have from my dad is a necklace he left with my grandma that she gave to me.
      This is why I am suggesting you make a stock pile of things and letters and expressing your love and feelings for your daughter so that they know you love them also in the physical.
      Nothing can separate us from the Father's love in Jesus Christ.
      I pray that you're united with your daughters soon and that all blockages and obstacles are removed from your path and that hearts are softened to forgiveness in this matter.
      Much love and blessings to you. There is just too much evil in this world...I'm really hoping for the next where the devil is put in his place.

    I'm an atheist and I really enjoy this movie. This scene in particular. It just hits so well. It's on the nose if he really is God (at least up until the final scene in the film where it's basically all but told to you) or just a good person who knows what to say about the ups and downs of life and sees when someone like Elliot is really struggling through life.
    Great film and I love some Brendan Fraser.

      Yeah. Hollywood does make God black sometimes. Hes also black in the Jim Carrey movie where Jim's character gains God's power. It all goes back to evolution, While we truely come from Europe, People have thought for a long time that we come from Africa. Which led people to believe that Adam and Eve were black and since they were made in God's image, Hollywood made God black a few times.
      There's more scientific proof coming everyday that first smart humans were actually white and that humanity does Not originate in Africa. But this is besides the point. They make God black because of their own theory of evolution.

Especially christianity. I mean, The word Lucifer literally means "Venus." And if you know who Venus is, The symbol and Goddess of feminity, The one who's symbol became the sign of a female, Then you know what Im talking about. ♀ Lucifer is a girl. I always found this scene so powerful between Elliot and his “Really good friend”. I admire that they never had the man say “I’m god” or “I’m an Angel” it’s up to the viewer to decide which makes it even more powerful. It’s even possible he’s just a normal guy who went through the same thing Elliot did with the devil and he learned so much from it.

      Geoffrey Oryema was a Ugandan artist. His father was assassinated under Idi Amin and Geoffrey was smuggled out of the country in a suitcase, eventually settling down in France despite being a world renowned musician. He sometimes collaborated with Brian Eno and Peter Gabriel. Most of his music carries themes of wanting to return home and searching for belonging. This song conveys an aching and desire for his people to stop fighting.
