Youre awesome !
Excellent video, thank you. I hadn’t yet explored ring modulators and so your brilliant explanations has brought me right up to speed.
sounds like a XOR gate ! btw love ya videos... thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge.
Using a sine wave for the carrier will result in fewer harmonics.
Extremely neat! I wanna hear it on a human voice now. Would be fun to try doing a Dalek voice with it :3
I'll have to read the blog post on diode drop effects. I was thinking of going the other way with the diodes, using four of your precision rectifiers like you used to fix the decay tail on the Kassutronics envelope generator.
Breadboard it! I'd be interested to hear how it goes. (And it wasn't me using them to fix the Kassu EG, it was Kassu using them to fix the YuSynth EG...)
How difficult would it be to add CV over offset? That knob is crying out for "magic hands".
Trivial, presumably! The knob's just a voltage divider going into a summing node. Connect CV jack to a series 100k resistor to U1 pin 2, that should do it.
Is there some alternative, similar but i don't care if it's not exactly a ring mod circuit?
You could just run a voice through a vca & use a vco to modulate the vca. It won’t be same but nearly.
xor
ARP but also Krog did this. I don’t like this just as discrete means not digital nowadays, a real pet peeve of me. Discrete means no Integrated Circuits.
