If you watching it all by the end your vision does actually get distorted, or mine did. Everything you look at will grow slightly smaller, and it lasts about 5 minutes :D
My friend where arguing about if infinite objects exist then I showed him this and he replied it's probably photoshopped I looked at him and wanted to facepalm so badly...
Assuming e228 means this is a zoom from 1x to 10^228x, then this video (if I have my maths right) is like zooming in from an image of the entire observable universe (about 46 billion light years) down to a particle of fog or a human hair... about eight times over.
@rosslahive yes. the concept of infinity is beautiful - especially when you get to see it played out in numbers through fractals. Also the fact that there is more than one type of infinity is also a great pleasure to ponder. The universe contains all this and more.
I thought of the Mandelbrot set when I saw this picture of a microscopic insect the other day. It was already a picture of a tiny insect, but when you zoomed in even further, you could see an even smaller insect on its eye. I just felt like there was probably an insect on that ones eye as well we just don't have a microscope powerful enough to see it yet. If there are microscopic things the human eye can't see, what if there are macroscopic things we can't see? What if our planets are just nucleotides in the DNA of an alien?
Ethan Tang Do think think electrons or quarks are the smallest things the universe makes? I'm sure there's something smaller that would give us a better understanding of reality, we just haven't discovered it yet. If you went back in time before microscopes were invented and told someone "There's little tiny bugs crawling all over your body, but you can't see them with your eyes because they're so small." (talking about germs/bacteria) people would call you insane and probably burn you at the stake. Modern day physics/science always makes me think of that story, because what we think is crazy or impossible today could be common knowledge tomorrow. "True wisdom is knowing you know nothing."
I just finished watching the 1.8 GB version, and it is honesty one of the greatest and most profound things I have ever watched. I highly recommend that everyone buys it!!!!!
9:45 Actually watching the whole video and seeing if there actually even is an end be like... "no.. no no no.... dont do it.... NOO..... FFFUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCC-"
Bought the lossless full version video last night, and watched it on 5 grams dried mushroom after 3 weeks studying the concept behind Fractals and how Mandelbrot set is generated, and had the most amazing experience in my life. Thank you guys for making this video. I will buy more of your videos soon for my next trips.
Dear one are you sure it costs $35.00 earthen paper dollers to activate your god given abilities? Soon enough that will not have to be the drive to a spiritual quest or any quest at all, dogdeeps dear man
@boobiechaps18 it starts with that particular shape because the function that creates that shape is the one which delivers the most "organic" and interesting patterns and structures. of course you could use a different function but the results most likely wont be as impressive. although nobody can be sure whether there isn't another function that creates even more impressive results. it's also a fact that you can use certain functions to create objects that look (for example) like trees, etc.
Is it strange that I find it oddly comforting to know there is no end to fractals, just like there is no end to many things in our universe, including the universe itself?
@Orenotter There are actually different types of infinity. We relate the size of infinite sets using a concept called cardinality. The way you can prove that the set of numbers between 0 and 1 is larger than the set of integers is to show that there is no bijection between them. That is you cannot assign integers for each member of the set of numbers between 0 and 1. So we say that the set of numbers between 0 and 1 has a higher cardinality than the set of integers.
the only thing I added was the light at the end - the shape at the end is actually there - also the co-ords for the location of it are in the video description - if you have fractal software you can enter them in to it and see it for yourself!
This really makes me wish I was a computer nerd. Or a maths nerd, or both. Or that I was lying on my back in a domed dance tent with this projected on it.....I could watch it forever! Great music too!
@ragerpez: Thanks 4 ur reply. I shall try 2 answer, last time it did not work :-( When composing with algorythms related to Mandelbrot, there are 2 possible variants. First, you set out with a motive in the classical sense, and apply the maths to it. So you would have different speeds, relating to increasingly small parts of the graphic result. Second variant: Apply sound processing to a single tone, e.g. a sine wave, and feedback those in a VST application...
Its pretty challenging to watch this whole thing. The amount of change somehow overloads the brain. I will train my child on this, to prepare him for the coming future.
this is what I see when I close my eyes real hard
Math teachers be like: find the area of this shape
Bwads216 bad meme.
Bwads216 ASK VSAUCE XD
If I had a computer that could zoom like this in real time, just forever and forever, I would just sit there all day long zooming in amazement.
Ait never ends :O

yes i agree i mean like jeez shut up people!
Chris Mations how about you stop doing what i am and leave these people alone you idiot
Imagine this with LSD and mushrooms together...
Then you just get a stroke
Does that mean if you put this in a file, the amount of bytes it would take up would be infinite?
InfernoFlower64 I don't think it's an image, maybe a shape generator
Lord Slug fractals are not infinite, because when you reach the very very very very end of the fractal, you'll see small pixels.
i am extreemly uncomfortable
Why exactly?
Oddonesout
Blobfish Forlife
kyle627_ I am extremely comfortable
My friend where arguing about if infinite objects exist then I showed him this and he replied it's probably photoshopped I looked at him and wanted to facepalm so badly...
YOU FEELING IT NOW MR.KRABS
ok, we got it, everyone came here from theodd1sout.
Smart man
Eyyy
Ya
Good job
yep lol
From 4:26 - 5:00 it's like you're falling to a platform but you never land...
Eeyup.
This reminds me of a soul searching its infinite self only to find it's own original self in the now.
Wow... So filosofical...
can you believe this is one shape?
amazing so this shape has an infinite perimeter then?
Yeah pretty much, it will just continue to repeat itself in different order FOREVER
Xoid the Dragon does it have an infinite area though? :°

INFINITE?!?!? BUT I CAN SEE IT, I CAN MEASURE IT
instantly recognized where that joke came from XD
You Greedy Memebag XD XD XD
YEAH IM INTO IT HOW DEEP INTO THIS RABBIT HOLE CAN WE GO

Exactlyyyyyyyy !
its not if. our planet is ruled by aliens.

E have microscopes powerfull enough to see individual atoms. They are called electron microscopes.
This video makes drugs obsolete.
Amazing should be shown in schools
It will some day, just not right now.
it does
my teacher showed me these videos a few years back, now i realise he was a tripper
How are things able to zoom in so much?
Fractals are shapes that have an infinite perimeter. Never ending.
Nazi engineering
Yes, it is better with higher resolution.
its auto generated on a fractal generator program
DUDE WTF HALFWAY THROUGH IT STARTED TOO LOOK 3D AND NOW EVERYTHING IN MY ROOM I LOOK AT IS MELTING!!!! AWESOME!!!

Actually, it's a storm drain.
This sort of thing is surely one the most mind-melting experiences available to the human eye?
Watched the whole thing and now my screen is escaping, cool. :D
Out of this world simply amazing a must see. Natures a real trip were surrounded
wow this is something...! i watched with psychedelic music it was so trippy..!
I just finished watching the 1.8 GB version, and it is honesty one of the greatest and most profound things I have ever watched. I highly recommend that everyone buys it!!!!!
Well this will keep me awake at night HOW DOSE IT NOT END HHHHHOOOOOOOWWWWWW!!!!!!
Who even discovered this who would waste there time
its just made up for fun
and its not an image but a shape generator
NaughtyDog 24 No one wasted any time here
WHEN WILL IT END?!?! I am tired of looking at this never ending piece of mind melting colors. Actually, that was an understatement.
Very good. I Have seen other Fractal videos, but this one has absolutely amazing structures...
I could watch these for hours videos like this make me question my existence
9:45
Actually watching the whole video and seeing if there actually even is an end be like...
"no.. no no no.... dont do it.... NOO..... FFFUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCC-"

Yep you
Know it
I came from theodd1sout
@ChefWRX The mathematical symmetry is so awesome to see thank-you.
I came here because I'm learning about fractals in school...I don't even k is who that other guy is 😂😂
Wow, everything around me is moving now, nice optical effect! :P
Epic awesomeness....
Dear one are you sure it costs $35.00 earthen paper dollers to activate your god given abilities? Soon enough that will not have to be the drive to a spiritual quest or any quest at all, dogdeeps dear man
when you look deep enough you see that everything is connected to everything - and mathematics describes the construct.
Mind blowing..... Great music too :)

My eyes keep changing the size and form of things when I look outside the screen now :D
what if the multiverse is set up like this?
Is it strange that I find it oddly comforting to know there is no end to fractals, just like there is no end to many things in our universe, including the universe itself?
well that's 10 minutes I'll never get back

Either this vid lasts for 10 minutes, or I have not blinked in an eternity. My eyeballs are burnin, but my mind's chill! Good job.
Hello odd1sout viewers!
hi
Hi
Shark497 hi
Shark497 Hello!
Verioth the what?
Only Mandelbrot could bring the brains and the party people together. Good job man.
ABSOLUTELY PSYCHODELIC
This really makes me wish I was a computer nerd. Or a maths nerd, or both. Or that I was lying on my back in a domed dance tent with this projected on it.....I could watch it forever! Great music too!
Brenton Milne The size of the universe is not known. It may even be infinite.
my brain is hurting from trying to grasp the concept of infinity
whadda way to start your day...lol
Fractals are interesting bc you don't have to necessarily be intoxicated to enjoy them. This shhhits a trip in itself!
This is trippy
this video is a trip. it makes wonder, what if the universe is just like this?
ah, i got a headache.
i didnt
Thank you for this very detailed description. The whole time I watched this I could only think about how large infinity is...
Odd1sout anyone?
Oh wow... I'm adding this video to my favorites. This is the best one of these that I've ever seen.
i need to smoke a blunt while watching this
Probably my all-time-favorite-video-ever on youtube! Intense, and with that music... Just fantastic! Thank you.
This is on a 2D level.
Can someone do it on a 3D level ?
Search " fractal 3d"
+poe those allready exist :3
I had mild hallucinations from 10 to 30 seconds afterwards. CREEPY. *hits the replay button*
I don't even know anymore...
what is life...

i dare Mr beast to count how many sides a fractal has😈😈😈
I feel like I've just been on a journey to the edge of the universe.
Odd 1s out anyone?

All right.
nice last two minutes there. best fractal vid i've seen so far
am I the only one who came here from Theodd1sout?
Nope.
i did too
Are you dumb
Of course you special snowflake you! It was all you and you are the main character of life!
+David Rojas i couldn't believe no one else thought the same as me, luckily you do. These people are fucking dumb
this is mindblowing. best Mandelbrot I've seen so far. thank you so much for uploading!
