Highly suggest listening to Morrissette's "Could you be my Messiah" in terms of emotional presentation. Much like a broadway show style.
There are two versions. One is the official video and the other is "one take". I suggest the one take version. This song was originally design to be part of a broadway like show in asia but I don't think it ever made it to that stage. You can see her background in stage presentation here more so than in any other video. The original composer re-arranged the song just for her in this version.
Don't forget to react to Morisette's performance in the Asia Song Festival both in 2017 and 2018. While I'm a fan of Morisette&Marcelito, there's also Gigi de Lana that's also does a great rendition of various covers. It seems like both Gigi&Morisette's competing which has the better performance. Gigi does her songs live usually without any practices.
