Hi Melinda, it's lovely to see you again. My number one priority in your music room would be to place you Rega P8 turntable on a wall mounted isolation platform, to remove any vibrations produced from the flooring being picked up by your cartridge. I hope that you find this helpful. Take care.

RE: acoustic treatment. Get your speakers and listening position in place, then do treatment step by step. That way you’ll hear what each step does and won’t inadvertently over damp your room. Some thoughts (depending upon your room characteristics): A rug on the floor…if you buy a “stock” rug (vs $$$), get a thick one with an open weave backing. Most have a tight or rubber or plastic which are not acoustically transparent and will reflect sound back up. Put a thick (I use ⅝ “) acoustic felt underneath rug. Inexpensive. ** Diffusers don’t work in a smallish room: not enough space. ** Absorption panels: start with L/R wall reflection points and behind your LP ( especially if you sit close to a wall) ** bass traps may help but I can’t make general recommendations. Now spend time listening before anymore treatment. Note: several smaller absorption panels with space between them work better acoustically than the same area covered completely with one large panel. Good luck and go slow. Room treatment is science and art and each room and listener preferences are different.

I cannot recall where you said you were from. I grew up in Western Kentucky, live in Louisville now. I enjoy your content. Fun stuff. You need bass traps in the upper corners of the room and/or in the corners of the room. The back of the room particularly needs to have sound absorption material, so sounds don't reflect back too much. Some of that echo is good, but not a lot. In a room that size, know that the size of the speakers will be a consideration. If you want to fill it with bass, it'll need some power.

Be true to yourself Melinda. Forget acoustic panels. Soft furnishings and curtains will suffice. No experts. You still need some liveness to the room. Set up the furniture first, position the hifi and listen. The room acoustics will be new. Take time to notice the sweet spots. Different room, different sound.

Glad to see you're back doing videos. I always enjoy them. You already have a lot of excellent suggestions for room treatment. Plants and bookcases with random sized books make good inexpensive diffusers. For speaker setup, PS Audio has a great book called "The Stereo" for instructions on setting up your speakers. It comes with an accompanying CD or LP that has numerous tracks for finding the best listening position and speaker placement for great soundstage and imaging. I found it very helpful and easy to use. Good luck on your endeavor. I know It will be a lot of fun.

Awesome room to fill with music, you're so lucky. It will be fun!
Plants in it will be a nice touch. I have that too. I have also a 'rule' of no plants near equipment because sooner or later a little accident of giving water to not just the plants is going to happen. So, to bend my own rule, the loudspeakers have artificial plants on them, making the big towers look less imposing. Artificial plants can be so good nowadays that visitors have to look twice to realize that the ones on top of the speaker towers are not real 😊

    • @MelindaMurphy
      @MelindaMurphy  3 місяці тому +1

My plants will not be too close to my equipment. You make an excellent point about the water. I won't have near as many as that picture shows. Lol. Thank you very much. 🤗♥️

Melinda, I have built 2 music rooms basically from scratch. I was able to get nice acoustic panels at a reasonable price from GIK Acoustic in Georgia. The panels look great and perform as expected. I have been extremely happy with all the panels I purchased from them. They also have several styles and colors.

I wonder though, at what point do you start to spend that much time worrying about sound quality, and using this and using that. Not doing this and not doing that, putting curtains 6 inch from the wall, et cetera, et cetera, that the fun of vinyl gets
Overlooked?. Good look to you Melinda, but if I had to worry about all of that just to listen to my music, I’d honestly stop,
I have a really modest but decent set up when it comes to turntable,
speakers and amplifier, and I think it sounds great,
I’m using Mission speakers from the 1980’s, a vintage pioneer amplifier and then my turntable,
I have none of anything you’ve mentioned!.,and seriously, records can sound really excellent!, so I don’t believe all this top of the range equipment is necessary at all, but I do think it makes audiophiles feel better about the money they have spent!

rectangular room is good. When you come into the room, speakers should be along the left wall. Couch in 2/3 deep in the room leaving ample room behind couch. then, wall acoustic foam pieces deco on side walls, deco bass traps in corners... I know expensive, but you can find some used. I used memory foam 24"x48" painted with latex paint and worked great! Just don't touch them after. Heavy theatre drapes I bought some as they are also called blackout drapes will be your friend. Keep equipment rack not too high off the ground and interfer with imaging. May need to build a new low equipment rack, like 60"x12"x16" deep. Mounting wall mounted isolation turntable platform is a good idea..... good luck!😀

Welcome back young lady! I noticed just one window for natural lighting in your new music room? Anyway to bust out the wall and place a matching window equidistant to the other one? Just to get some extra natural lighting? My brother and I just spent 60 grand or so updating my elderly mothers 2700 Sq ft. two story home in Fountain Valley, Orange County, CA. So much work, hope you and Phillip have a good contractor to do your renovations. Your smart to lighten the floors, replace the baseboards, put lots of area rugs, etc. Sounds like you're doing everything right. Thanks for getting back to us, we all miss you greatly!❤❤ P.S., picked up Seal's 30th Anniversary LP and Diana Krall's 'Live in Paris' lp!

At some point we will probably replace the windows. I would love to add some for more light in that room. There are two windows but one of them doesn't really bring in additional light. The flooring is going to be light and bright with a coastal feel. I'm excited to see it when it's done. California real estate is extremely valuable so what you're doing is a great investment. 🥰 Thank you and take care. 🤗♥️

I bought two pair of diffusion/absorption panels from GIK Acoustics to use behind my electrostatic speakers--they were recommended as absorbing all the rear output would make them sound worse than having no treatment at all. Similarly, a room with too much absorption is just as bad as a room with too little, but many of us have shelving with books, records, etc. that act perfectly to diffuse the sound. I agree with others--add what you think you need, little by little, adding something only when needed.
One thing you may also notice in an enclosed space is that the bass will be very uneven--absent for some notes, and too boomy for others. That would call for bass traps in the corners--the bass tends to collect in corners of a room, and having that energy absorbed in the vertical corners can be helpful. That is the one thing I need for my family room at the moment, yet I have shelving in the way that prevents it. I wish I had kept the corners clear, about two feet in each direction, as that's the space larger traps need.
Also, here's a tip that is often forgotten. If you decide on using a coffee table, either use a blanket or cloth on top of it, or make sure it is covered in a lot of "stuff" (diffraction, again). A flat, empty coffee table between the listening area and the speakers is a large reflecting surface that can throw off the imaging.
My last recommendation? Heed the words of acousticians, and use speaker and seating placement, and room treatments, to get your sound dialed in. Avoid room correction. What happens with room correction is that you "fix" the sound in only one single listening position, and throw off your response everywhere else in the room. And if bass is being corrected, you risk overdriving your amplifiers as it tries to correct missing bass.
At AXPONA several years ago, acoustician Bob Hodas (you can find him and his tips via Google) put on a one-hour presentation about just the sort of things you are going through now with your new room, and those were basically his recommendations. We can never have a "perfect" room but if we minimize a room's problems with placement and room treatments, we're way ahead of the game. 👍
BTW, GIK Acoustics does offer some DIY materials, including the cloth. Still a little expensive though, but not as bad as buying the completed panels. (I'm glad I bought my panels pre-COVID as they are much higher now.)

    • @MelindaMurphy
      @MelindaMurphy  3 місяці тому

Great tips. Several people have recommended GIK Acoustics so I will have to look into that company.
I agree that doing too much can hurt more than help. A friend of mine warned me about someone that spent several thousands on room treatments and the sound improved once some were removed. 😳
I appreciate the advice on the coffee table as well. I will be very careful as I make my selections. Thank you and take care. ♥️🤗

He sang in the 70's songs like Junk food Junkie and The Bumper Sticker Song and The Wheat Lies Low (My favorite). He also sang traditional Children's song on the Disneyland Records label. Exciting times for you and your system! Personally, I would get your system set up in the position you want and then get everything isolated to the best level. Recently, I've been upgrading to Stack Audio AUVA isolation pucks and speaker feet. They are based in the UK but deliver Worldwide. You'll find a few UA-cam videos about them. I've never experienced such a single improvement in overall sound quality and pure listening joy than when I started using their products. They are a little expensive but you'll have them for a long time. I don't recommend wall-mounted turntable platforms - It's better to keep your system isolated from the fabric of your house. Once your system is set up, then play around with rugs, furnishings, plants, wall hangings, the height of your seating, the humidity of your room, the positioning of cats and dogs......hahaha!

Just subbed.... I'll be expecting a series of music room videos. 😁 Maybe you can get a manufacturer to help with sound treatment in return for a few videos of design and install. Don't walk into the room and decide .... move things around and listen. You may have block walls.... which can be a good thing for bass. I spent years listening with speakers on the short wall.... until one day I tried the long wall.... it was much better. So try new things in your new room.... and rugs work great too. You didn't mention ceiling height.... 8' , 10' ??

G’day Melinda, congrats on the upcoming music room. I was wondering what you’re going to do for music in the rest of the house? Will you have a 2nd system or stream? The reason I ask is that I’ve never had a designated room, but I do love to have music on no matter what I’m doing around the house when I’m not having a concentrated listen. My lounge is where the stereo is & part of an open plan which also includes the kitchen. Would be nice to have a separate space for better sound, but I need a soundtrack to my life as well if that makes sense. Good luck with everything…Ben 👍

My secret is to make the whole house the Rush bat cave. I basically have 4 ft hall speakers in the living room and since it's open to the kitchen I rock while I get cooking. My audiophile friend says it's not perfect but he said the heavy plant containers help keep the Permanent Waves from bouncing around. I have the hall speakers because I kept ruining the fine speakers, and overloading amps. I still have vintage British IMF speakers but I'm careful not destroy them. I bet Philip can't wait to drive up here to take in all that is Rush😂 Happy 4th upcoming to my American brothers and sisters. The Indigo Girls are great. Please tell the person who sent you the album that the "Year" in the "30 Year Anniversary" title is redundant. The "anni" portion of the word anniversary means "year." It should say "40th Anniversary." It would be nice if the album title was grammatically correct. It is just like saying "PIN number" when the "N" in "PIN" means number. Just a helpful hint.😃

Hmmm, seems complicated. Take it from a fellow coastal dweller (with palm tree, with dedicated music room), the easiest and most effective route for window coverings are those honeycomb shades that are even marketed for sound absorption (I use Duette by Hunter Douglas, recommended by a studio dude). I then work with GIK Acoustics for (relatively) reasonable and good looking panels. Easy and done!

Fun project and looking forward to your room. I am a novice as well. Currently in a town house that I have been in longer than planned. I want to redo the floors before selling but don't want to spend the money I would for best sound quality or do the floors twice. Decisions, decision... I am watching for anything I can pick up.
The YTer the joy of vinyl of records has posted a couple of videos, one not long ago where they went to carpet and another where he put the turn table on a shelf mounted to the wall as the floor was floating and vibrating so, be sure the flooring is solid. The older video is "An Unexpected 50% Sound Improvement in Vinyl Record Playback"

Thank you for sharing. I will have to go back and watch the videos. Carpet is best for sound quality but I will have to get by with area rugs instead.
It would have been nice if the former owner had replaced the flooring before she put the house up for sale but our tastes aren't the same so I'm kinda glad she didn't. Lol. Best wishes to you. Thank you and take care.

I was happy with the size of my room but it was limited on what you could do as it was a rectangle and one side was all window. Pretty much limited where I could put the stereo. After I set up my cabinets I had almost no room for art work. On the plus, the curtains were a,ready layered and about 4 inches from the window! I still have a few things left to do that I need to get around to, I’m just too tired lol

Jumper is topical, just watched the 1st debate: old man v con man. In Florida you need a quiet AC system, so many pump out significant noise making music listening problematic. My music room has lots of vintage ashtrays, smoke in style.

I think those panels are too industrial ,if you put in hardwood floor consider that Dogs will scratch them up and you will need to finish periodically. High quality vinyl can look really nice. You might try drapes wall hangings tapestry’s. Soffits with fabric. Can you pick out some nice fabric and hang like wall paper. Area rugs are a great idea. If the house is older consider plug in circuits with a power cleanup circuit to help eliminate hum. Older houses do not have clean power. Make sure your Subwoofers are isolated from the floor I use stick on feet of rubber otherwise they resonate like crazy. I have my my speakers on pedestals made of glass bases and metal.

probably too late, but when moving high quality speakers, always short the terminals, to prevent cone movement which could damage the precision interface between magnet and coil.
my other tip is to get a hi fi book on acoustic room treatments, most studios use the live end, dead end, approach after well regarded " shoe box" concert hall acoustics, but I think your friend must surely know the basic principals.
of course there is always the classic garage band set up, where you just staple paper mache' egg crate dividers on every possible surface. I'm sure your husband, and the Florida bugs, would just love that. .
I was going to make a joke about saluting the American flag, but I was raised better than that.

You speak of wanting to buy stereo acoustic material, it will make little difference to do that, you said you want something cheaper than panels, I recommend not spending anything, because stereo people will recommend stuff to make money, that can sometimes harm sound. You want a loud stereo sound, except in a teeny tiny room. Most things added to a room will make little difference. Just add your plants, books, just normal stuff that you usually add. A hardwood floor with nothing on it is best for reverberation. Any material that is directly at the tweeter height such as curtains will kill 3d imaging. As long as your speakers are 4 feet from any wall, that is all you need for a room. Materials will barely quieten a room. Material on the side walls & the walls behind you will kill imaging. A hardwood floor reverberations helps sound & makes it louder like it should be. A mirror behind the speakers & between the speakers, on the back wall will help 3d imaging, but have nothing else between the speakers.. A deadened room you dont want. Curtain shades & other things wont make a difference. Speakers close to a wall creates unwanted echoes, but 3d imaging is caused by echoes, that materials usually kills the 3d imaging. Speakers to close to walls causes unwanted , but hardwood floors causes loudness that you want, but carpet material is ok, but materials anywhere else is detrimental. Even in an empty room a stereo can sound wonderful. Wood diffusor panels dont work that well & are expensive. Heavy stuccho on block walls are great diffusors, or brick walls inside my house lets me put the speakers close to the walls. Diffusors allow the echoes to stay much closer to the walls. With sheetrock walls, one cant put speakers close to the wall to get more bass. Block walls give more bass where ever speakers are placed. Blocks dont let sound pass through walls like wood does.

The best to you on the new music room. I'm hoping there will be more than one option for speaker placement, as that can make a real difference. I don't get everything my speakers have to offer because I have only one placement option, which negates the holographic imaging I heard at the audition. The image, though wide, has little front-to-back depth; unfortunate, but If I'm truly listening to the music and not the sound it's less of a bother. Be sure your speakers can breathe!

Nice to see u back and enjoying your move lol. The new music room is good to have dark or at least just a few windows for less sunlight. I know that sounds odd but u now have a chance to install track / spot lighting which u can focus onto your Turntable and audio equipment. Windows also are not good for sound bouncing and changing pitch. Acoustic panels would be great but cheaper is using cork. Cork wall sheets looks good and dampens sound. Throw rugs are a must on any hardwood floors.

Try using a solid oak flooring will help with acoustics. Also if you can you’re plug socket you’re using for your system trying to get it on a single loop. For curtains try using crush velvet as this has the best for sounding also you could put tapestries on the wall will help another idea is you can put curtains up where is not the window and you can adjust the curtains to change acoustics in the room

Hey, it seems we are more or less at the same stage in our stereo journey. I have been playing with DIY acoustic treatment in two rooms lately and one the first room is working well, and the other one, not so much yet. But I have figured out a lot and debunked or confirmed many acoustic statements online by doing so. I would be happy to share pictures and opinions if you want, but I can start with adding some personal tips here of what I would do if I could start all over.
I could not see exactly how your room is from the pictures, but a rectangle or square has different properties, so here is what to consider. Get your stereo in there before anything else, or something that will make music to test. what you want to focus on is Bass!
Higher frequencies are easier to treat, but Bass is a pain overall.
You want to position your speakers on the wall that give the best bass response. In a rectangle room, the longer wall is usually the correct choice, however. Make sure you can distinguish from too much bass, cause there exists a sone where it can be overwhelming and make it sound boomy.
Don't use sub's for this testing. Your speaker should put out enough bass for music, and since I see u already use a sub in your room means that that room is lacking in treatment.
    Subs are a last resort.
Now, Acoustic panels are not that hard to build, and here is a short list of what to consider:
1 focus on the FIRST reflections. Usually on the sides and corners surrounding the speakers. Optimally add standers to the entire backwall, put insulation in it and staple some fabric over the entire thing. (The corner and first reflection on the side should be good enough though.)
Try to cover as much from top to bottom as possible.
2 Because first reflections also mean floor and sealing, you should focus on sealing. There are many videos on how to make this look nice. Having a few smaller panels with space between can cover more surfaces without overdoing it. If possible make the hang a bit down from the sealing. The air behind them does work like with the curtains.
3 Corner panels do not have to be a triangel. it can be a rectangle with air behind it. thickness for bass treatment matters.
when you are treating bass, you are also treating treble as long as the thickness is there. thinner panels for only treble.
To clarify: Treating the first reflections will in a way take away all the other reflections chained to the first, so it makes sense.
I have recently been able to test my bookshelf speakers in a proper room, and man! They have 6,5-inch woofer and they put out so much bass if the room is good.
I have been able to simulate this in my home by accident. I put bookshelf speakers in my bedroom for the tv, and the bed acts as a massive dampener. I definitely have the best room there, and it rumbles like a cinema without a sub. (Sure some lower frequencies are for movies, but it sounds amazing nonetheless. )
4 Speakers like symmetry. sound will be harder to treat if they are not bouncing equally through the room. having speakers pointed straight forward in the room increases the size and centre image. angle then inward for sweet spots does not do any good. That is if there is more than one person, but you will also decrease the openness. (This is also dependent on the speakers though)
Ok, here are some of the tips I can remember now that I have tested and worked.
It is usually good to test the panels before mounting them. moving them around and finding the best position is best. I had a friend hold my ceiling panels over his head while I was sitting in the listening to hear where aproxemetly they should be.
Oh, one last thing try not to use things like glass fiber for panels. not good for health. I found something called wood fibres that are made for the same purpose, and it works amazingly well. It is exactly what it sounds like, wood fibres.
Anyway, let me know if you want to see pictures.

Expert advice (regarding sound panels) should probably come from someone who is in your room. Every room is different. You could be "solving problems that don't exist". PS Audio did a video showing the in-home delivery and setup of the first or second pair of speakers they ever sold. The FIX that was needed was to REMOVE many of the panels that the homeowner was using.

It looks like you have your work cut out for you. I have been fortunate to have rooms with good acoustics that did not require all kinds of dampening. My current home has the best acoustics of all, because we have 10 feet and 13 feet ceilings in our home. I noticed a big improvement in the sound when I set-up my system in these rooms with high ceilings. I'd recommend looking for a book on the subject of setting up a listening space to get some good input on how to set-up your room for the best sound. With the exception of the compilation album, I didn't recognize the new artists you mentioned. I really enjoy discovering new artists. If you like classical guitar, I recently discovered a young British guitarist named Alexandra Whittingham. She's excellent. I really like her version of Asturias by Albeniz. This is where the guitar meets art, just beautiful. Best of luck with the move and your new music adventures. 👍💖🎸😎

Hi! 😀 I'm so glad your new home has great acoustics. It will be interesting to set up my equipment and play a record for the first time. My ceiling will only be 8 feet. I hope that won't hurt the sound too much. Reading more about room treatments will be a big help and I also have a friend that is very knowledgeable.
I do love classical guitar so thank you for the recommendation. 🤗♥️ Thank you and take care.

i bought my last home some 6 years ago and had to restore some parts and redecorate and paint all and also change the electric system ,water pipes (were still made of lead) but last year all ended and well also my sons and daughters also grandsons and grandaughters have their homes but still some spend a lot of time here with me mostly the girls and enjoy listening music with me , because i have 6 rooms to spare i have now two huge listening rooms but also have systems in the tv room , living room, main dining room and garage, a 40 cars garage as my other hobby either than hi-fi are old cars ,the house was built originally in 1904 the one before was built in the 40´s so i only buy old houses they are well built and no need for AC in everyroom they are fresh inside and was so well built that was all original , it as the original electric switches and wires that were protected not by rubber but with a type of cloth and the swithes look like those old and huge ones in factorys with a wooden handle and two metal rules type and in tiny size to light up at night the ceiling lights, in the garage i left a part with old copnections only because it looks cool , but spens a fortune buying the house and doble restoring it and make it at my own taste in total cost me 2.000.000€ and with work paid at reduced prices, and the house belonged to a friend of mine ,his family house that had still a painting of a 1700´s family guy, the reason why the all house didn´t fall was because the structure was all in wood taken from Africa the huge wooden beams they don´t get destroyd by rain ,humidity if one knocks the wood it will feel like rock and some engeniers get their knucles hurt by hiting it with too much strenght, no one knows what type iof wood is that there are no records about where in Africa it came from or other similar to compare with, but all his great and my last wife is also happy ,it as been with me since i was 50 and have a daughter with her that is younger than my grandsons, before i had 5 the first was in 72 when my oldest son was born, his 52 now and also enjoys cars ,bikes and hi-fi , my older wifes are all friends of eachother and have me as a friend and only two didn´t had a son or daughter from me but they took care of my older sons and daughters, only 5 not that many one for each decade, now i can seat and listen to my favorite records and have been recording to minidisc or cassette that were stoped since mid 90´s and now i´m adicted again in making compilations ,since i re-started in 2017 (late setember of that year) i´ve recorded 180 cassettes from my records cds or reels most of them are TDK sa-x and sony UX-pro also maxell UR from 84 and tdk AR from 92 ,got all for free when they were going to incenerate all in a big warehouse, smme thousands of cassettes and also minidiscs all TDK, reels i´ve been recording them also since 2021, hope you and your family will enjoy and be happy in your new home ,it´s hard but when it´s done it´s like a breathe of fresh air, and some strange feeling of having a lot of time to spare against years of working everyday, i can also say that i bought last december my last hifi system started to buy components for it in 2019 ,it´s a Magnat receiver with all modern features and some power with tubes pre-amplification also bought for chance when in a store in the south of Spain found a magnat cd player the same colour and with the tubes seen from outside from 2016(tube pre-amplified) as the receiver also magnat speakers the transpull 1500, the receiver is a MA900 also a akai open reel deck a GX-4000D, a Rega P10 with a cartridge from Hana, the Umami red (can buy them cheap) and a nakamichi 700ZXL i had restored for cassettes, have a extra cassette deck a CT-91a from Pioneer, had to conect a tape monitor multiplyer from akai as the receiver only as one output for recording, have also spotify and tidal for lazy days(when i want to seat and listen to whatever i like without having to search for it) the receiver already as a multimedia player but i had already bought a prestige node II or similar, sorryb for the long coment but i think it cames with age ,about cassette compilations , when i played them at night after having diner, i hear those songs and make me remenber and see like if it was yesterday when i was hearing those songs new this camping in the summer also remenber girls i knew that if it wasn´t for the music they wouldn´t come to my mind, i had the luck of living in a time when there was more youth in all europe. The best beaches in atlantic coast were untoutched by human hand only hundreds of young people from several countries and portuguese maybe me and some friends girls or boys ,there were litle vilages were there were fisherman so at night only fish grilled caught that afternoon or that day earlier with salad and wine Rosé (it as sparkles) and a bit sweet also bread made all afternoons at 5 o´clock ,like they don´t make it anymore and the tables were made from old wood and beanches also forget when you wanted there were sweet water falls to the beach if you wanted to take the salt from your skin, i refer to this because if it weren´t for the cassettes i wouldn´t remenber those days so specific and clear, sometimes we used to camp on the beach or under the trees near the beach, i used to drive when i was 18 a Mercedes 280S from 1968 i used to fill it with people and friends i´ve just had met that year ,and when needing to go to a near but 60 kms place (1 mile=1.6 km´s) i would drive with 12 to 15 people in the car this without tar roads, the trunk would be full of people and always opened, that´s why i listen to music everyday to remenber what i will never live again what is surprising is that most of the beaches are still in the same place(dah!)untouched by human hands and empty , but some friends i´ve met when 16 or 18 years old after retired some came to live near me mainly from deutschland and netherlands it´s always sunny all year around ,they said and were tired of living in a grey world, today i know young men and women and all are so prud or pudic ,at the time everybody was naked most of the day at night it was cold and we dressed ourselves, but no feeling of shame or complexes it was natural and i think you know there are more women than men, at the time also, i feel like we had paradise and lived it till we were old, again sorry and good luck to you and yours in your new place, hope everything runs good and confortable with the changes

Good luck with your new home and listening room. If you can do so, look into acoustic treatments for your next space, they don’t have to look as bad as they use to. Also Melinda if you have a laptop, you can pick up a cheap microphone from Amazon and a free program, I can’t remember the name at the moment maybe room eq and do some quick measurements.
Your husband along with you will probably enjoy this, that is after you get settled, then you can really dial the room in as it will be your listening room. Melinda what is that third component from the top with the analogue meters below the white step up transformer? Did you buy a new power amp and preamp?
