Invisible Man Learning/knowing a few Sanskrit words makes it easy to understand, interpret and learn most of the Ancient Indian languages which includes the Dravidian Languages (Kannada, Telugu, Malayalam, Tulu, Tamil, Kodava to name a few) and other family of Indian languages.
In ancient India many words were borrowed, accepted and used in most of the languages. It didn't really matter which word was borrowed and from which language it was borrowed.
Unfortunately, most of the native Indians are ignorant about the facts mentioned above and do not care. They fail to understand that by accepting one thing many other things can be unlocked and explored.
Language chauvinism has emerged in India and is prevalent in most parts of the country. In one way Govt. of India is responsible for this. The central government considered a language derived from Sanskrit (with a blend of middle eastern languages) which has no roots in ancient times and declared it as an official and national language of India. They failed to promote Sanskrit which would have been widely accepted by people of the country. As a result, people opposed a new and unknown language being imposed upon them. Ultimately, Sanskrit (a Vedic language) beared the brunt as the new language had Sanskrit influence. The central government's attempt of popularising a new language led to the rejection of the parent language.
Now the damage that has been done. Yet very few are making attempts to revive and save the Vedic language.
      Meanwhile there are others:
      1. Who have protected their native languages and have fair knowledge about Sanskrit words (few people from this group do not have any problem with the new language. But everybody hates it when they are forced to give more priority to the new language)
      2. Making attempts to save their native language cum Mother Tongue and have fair knowledge about Sanskrit words (people from this group do not have any problem with the new language. But are helpless when they are forced to give more priority to the new language) The central government has hardly taken any steps to protect and preserve Languages belonging to this category.
      3. Do not bother to save their native languages and have accepted the new language (few people from this group are arrogant and do not respect other ancient cum native Indian languages)
      4. Have made the new language as their native language cum Mother Tongue (few people from this group are arrogant and do not respect other ancient cum native Indian languages).
If a language representing an ancient country like India would have to be chosen- Sanskrit would be the first choice by majority Indians.
      Thank you.

In Telugu we have a Saying, "Doorapu Kondalu Nunumu"
Which translates to " Far away mountains are Smooth"
The meaning is that when you see a mountain from far away you think it is smooth, but when you go near it, you'll know that it is a very rugged surface. Just like that, when you see South from North, you'll think that South people are "Real Hindus" and they follow "Real Hindu Culture". But when you come to south, you'll know the reality. You'll know what Christians and Muslims are doing to Hindu temples and Hindu people here and how the local governments support them and encourage them to do it just for votes.

Karnataka was once part of Great Vijayanagara Empire. Here, Sanskrit, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil and Tulu were spoken. No Languge was Superior or Inferior. South India is divided today based on our Languages. Congress and PFI want Karnataka to be like Kerala and Tamil Nadu. We will never allow this to happen !!!
We are Proud of both Sanskrit and Kannada !!!.
