Hands down the best level in the game, I lost track of how many times I've completed it before. It is doubly nostalgic for me, as, having grown up in Hungary, I used to pass by at "Hotel Gallard" many, many times. (Sometimes I even listened to the track of this stage when I did so, just for the heck of it.)
I used to love this level back in the days. The grafics where really good for the time, plus they had ragdolls and other physics. Seeing it again after almost 20 years is a bit of a shock because in my mind it stayed beautiful. That flowers in the floristic shop... omg...
Imagine going out on a balcony and seeing the guy you just threw out of the room you're guarding giving you the death stare from the balcony next to you…
I remember this level blew my mind back then - because maps with NPC schedules and full freedom of movement were still very rare in games. And, coincidentally, this is where Hitman series started finding its firm ground resulting in Blood Money and Trilogy.
Watching all your playthroughes of hitman 1, i fucking love this game, the deep grim story, the awesome levels, the characters. I love this game series so much and especially this first game. 1:52 some of the game creators names btw. Thanks for uploading these. Wish you had used the sauna though
And so the Hitman series ultimately proves itself with this mission: Traditions of the Trade, one of the best Hitman levels of all time, if not *the* best. 4:35: The only time the balcony jump is ever useful in this game apart from the Tutorial. 6:54: If anyone is wondering about the letter given to Ochoa from the last mission, here are the deets: "Satu Mare 12/10/99 Dear Pablo, 'Things have changed. I hope for your understanding that the project must be kept running financially even though our great brotherhood is in disagreement. More than ever we need to accelerate the project. We might have to move the entire lab soon. I feel that some of my staff are getting a bit scared by the project's implications. Remember friend, 47 belongs to me, but I just might send him to you for a personal demonstration of his talents.' Blood and Muscle, Professor" 7:10: Umm... have a nice rest, Father. 9:20: Guns 'n Roses/Terminator 2 reference? To this day, I'm not sure whether or not the Contracts version of this is superior. What do you think, Zevik?
[X] DOUBT on that due to certain missions involving innocent/civilian casualties and no pacification methods until SA onwards (Wang Fou Ambush and Lee Hong's Assassination are the most notable examples).
When I was really upset or has bad day, I just run this level and kills everyone :) My favorite parts of this level is killing the dentist with steam and fat woman, who guards women's lockers
This mission had so many MLG moments, only some of which were captured in contracts because they were really not PC. Some of them are also missing here. What nostalgia I am feeling! That balcony jump animation that must have taken so much effort that they used it in the next few games as a joke terminator 2 homage that involves florist that sounds like he's badly imitating peter lorre (like most side characters in this game, come to think of it) comically obese lady running the baths fat speedo dude showering, his silly AHHH death scream movie homage drowning of guy in thermal bath "LOOKS LIKE MR WULFF IS IN ROOM 202" "...AND STAY OUT" VERY endowed secretary "LEAVE MY KITCHEN AT ONCE" Silly german accents coming from arab henchmen dentist office inside the hotel for some reason metal detectors everywhere at a dentist convention (which had a security hole anyway) T O B I A S R I E P E R
5:26 oh man he can't hear you breathing down his neck. It's especially funny when you basically stand in front of him to look around I just started laughing
may i ask why you went into the room only to get thrown out first before using the balcony in the other room? was there a point to it or was it for the laughs? lol
this hotel takes place in the city where I live :D only mission I remember doing the fastest way step-by-step don't even need to change clothes one time lol... you don't need to kill the doctor or bother with the flower shop either... why the hell you waste time killing him to dress up like him if you still kill people in the office though? and just sneak in like you don't belong there, makes zero sense :D
No there is no way as far as I remember I could be wrong but the only way to go inside with a weapon is to with only fibre wire which is default in inventory it's the only thing that never triggers alarm after once you are inside there are plenty of guns to steal
why does he tell the hotel worker that it looks like mr wolff is in room 202 i dont get it and then the hotel guy ignores that line and tells him about room key and mail stupid game
Wunderschon means beautiful or lovely so one of the two thing fritz fuchs is gay with the chef or he really likes foie gras cause he mistooken 47 for the chef cause he was behind him or then again the chef could be gay or thats the chefs name oh bloody meat! lolz xD

Finley Zero glad you liked my games
mariusss95 greetings from the Hitman himself.
Mr 47 💜
Thats awesome bro
The first 4 Hitman games truly are works of art, you know a games good when you can play it years later and its still enjoyable and impressive
Everyone always gives credit to the first trilogy but hitman absolution is also a great game

Shotgun in a rose box...Terminator 2 reference?
redneck33914 You're right.
delfunker no shit
Nah, Terminator 2 was released in 1999 whereas Hitman: Codename 47 was released in 1885
@@hackerman7835 wtf?
Also from Terminator 2, this is a small reference to Guns 'n' Roses
This is the only level in this game that truly captured the potential, the contracts version is even better
Do you have an appointment? (Remember that line?)
4:37 creepily staring at you while waiting for you to move away nonchalantly
Imagine going out on a balcony and seeing the guy you just threw out of the room you're guarding giving you the death stare from the balcony next to you…
I love that the security guards instantly shoot anyone who triggers the metal detector alarm. I wonder how many guests they murdered ?
I used to have the master key and bellboy uniform and run around screaming "ROOMSERVICE" while opening doors and killing everyone inside
+McAkkeezz so.....am not the only one in the world who did this
yeah you were playing along with your brother

didn't Contracts version have a chunk of hotel closed down and also a ghost - which was just so out of place and cringe?
One of my favorite levels in any games. So many possibilities of what you can do.
The most professional Hitman game !

I like how you leave the murder weapon near the body - you should wash it first though ;)
Yeah! Dude
He was no finger prints lol
That's why he wear gloves
I wanna say the front desk clerk is voiced by one of the founders of IO? Watched a documentary on Hitman and they sound almost exactly the same

I love this level in Contracts too ....I play it many times....different ways ...
7:15 My favorite part LMAO
4:22 Just seen same custodian a minute ago, now see him staring right at him outside...nothing suspicious bout that 😁
I liked being able to move the camera around like that
best , no 1 , level in hitman 's history!!!
3:48 poor 47 he let that german bastard to fuck with him like that, he could hit them both if there were no witnesses ^^

Half of the men in this level sound like a Hammer Horror Film henchman. 🤣
I wonder if they got the name Frantz Fuchs from Fred Fuchs.
No they got the name from franz fuchs , there was a real terrorist which name is franz fuchs from austria!
there is a situation here
...
back up, i need back up
So far all targets have been former French Foreign Legion members.
Wasn't there a secret room in this hotel where they had closed off with blood and stuff? Room 109 the Haunted Room.
In Contracts yes. In codename 47 there's no murder room.
cosMIN. PLAYS Hmm okay
The graphics weren’t bad for the first hitman
Why this is way better than the new one ? Iam i the only one who feels that? Details here are more and makes u feel the game
Your Partner the new one is too much less obscure than this game.
@ 13:26 "Oh someone is probably just taking a nap on the bathroom, no problem!"
Wow! 14:25. Death by a suitcase. That must of been a horrible death. Lmao!
Okay, since when did hotels have _dentists?_

why does this mission appear twice in Hitman series? It's in contracts too
Contracts was a remake of the codename 47 the only missions they didn’t remake were the jungle missions..
I like hitman codename 47

Sure is this game was only for PC so they took the next missions of this an re made them for the console versions.
is there a way to shut down the metal detectors, or otherwise bypass them with a weapon from the outside?
No there is no way as far as I remember I could be wrong but the only way to go inside with a weapon is to with only fibre wire which is default in inventory it's the only thing that never triggers alarm after once you are inside there are plenty of guns to steal
7:18 I'd drag Woolfe & his bodyguards bodies out into the corridor, leave them there and wait for the mayhem to ensue.. :)
Why did you drop the shotgun in the hall?
He’s just showing other viewers what all can be done in this level..
why does he tell the hotel worker that it looks like mr wolff is in room 202
