In my view, having orientation sessions is particularly important for both companies and newcomers. On the one hand, companies mostly aim to provide new workers with
detailed information about its culture, specific rules, instructions. But on the other hand, that also helps newcomers figure out how everything works and allows them to adapt to
a new environment much easier and faster. What I mean is that by conducting orientation sessions, companies kill two birds with one stone. According to the dialogue, asking
questions is the best way to learn. It shows you are eager to engage and learn. I'd also like to point out that asking too many questions and taking initiative, especially in the very
beginning can also cause a negative attitude towards newcomers. As the saying goes, "Curiosity killed the cat".😂 Thank you for the podcast and transcript, dear teachers!

Question 1: My opinion is that orientation is essential. It helps newcomers understand the culture and procedures of the company. Question 2: When we ask more questions that relate with daily work or procedures, we can work better and efficiently, and then contribute to the success of the organization.
1. I don’t think that orientation sessions is essential for newcomers. In my opinion, it’s more important when colleagues help the new kid in the block to get in. That way, you can build a bond with colleagues and adapt to a new environment.
2. It’s really important for newcomers to engage and ask questions in a new environment of work. How can you adjust and manage your own tasks at a new work if you don’t ask questions about them. You should be attentive and try to catch all details about your responsibilities, tasks and so on.
You make a great point about the value of colleague support and the importance of being proactive with questions to effectively adjust to a new workplace. Both are indeed crucial for a smooth transition. Thank you for your input!😊

What does it mean by groove?
In my context, "groove" is general Slang: To enjoy or be absorbed in what you're doing. Example: "I'm really grooving on this new book I'm reading."
