    Today we are connecting with the author of The Shack, William Paul Young. Although this show is mostly about creativity and making a living doing what you love, one of the deeper issues underlying all the internal work we have to do as ambitious creatives is addressing spiritual pain and how we view God. Paul’s work has really impacted my life and it’s an honor to get to share his message with you.
    FROM TODAY’s EPISODE:
    Moving past being hurt by religion & lies we believe about God
    Dealing with shame and the need to belong
    Overcoming the addiction of certainty

    My favorite guy, changed my life. Met him a couple of years ago. He came to a tiny town in the hills of Tennessee to meet with 30 people...unbelievable. And he is exactly the same in person.

    And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love (1 Cor. 13:13)

    • @williamoarlock8634
      @williamoarlock8634 4 місяці тому

      Why do other versions say 'hope' is the 'greatest'? The KJV Corinthians says 'Charity is not puffed up' though Christian charity is always puffed-up.

    • @tamaraoconnor5483
      @tamaraoconnor5483 2 місяці тому

      It seems that way because the "puffed up" charity is what's in the spotlight, like anything else related to pride. Unfortunately, the true ways of God don't draw attention to themselves, ultimately letting God take credit.

    You’ll find out that when you venture out from the pack and think you’re all alone there is another community out there that will welcome you in; where you can be free and be true to yourself and still be loved and accepted. Is it easy? No. Is it worth it? 100%.

    Christ is truly the end of religion, but He established a Church - His Body. This Church - in tbe Spirit, unanimously regarded "apokatastasis" as too at odds with the inspired text of Scripture and only belonging to the private speculative opinion (theolugomen) of (for example) Origen and Gregory of Nyssa.
    In Christ, our entire human nature is reconciled, healed, restored, but we - as persons (unique hypostasis) are not all already "in"... no, we are "potentially" all in but have to "actualise" our relational union with the Triune Life through new birth - by grace - through faith.

    Because this is a fallen world; God is by His holy nature, is effectively locked out; seeming not present. That said, he "snuck in" via Jesus, demonstrated a perfect sinless life; sacrificed himself for all of Creation; then snuck out again via the ascension; but left the Holy Spirit in His believers (the church). Religion (God attempted bribery) has always been a great power tool and business for the world. He allows the world to carry on for awhile; the church dispensation; to sanctify His believers by trial. His sanctified believers will be the leaders in the new world, but where the government will be upon His shoulders. All will be redeemed eventually after the refining fire. Every knee shall bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. Even enemy #1 will be humbled and redeemed, eventually. All will be overjoyed to serve and love the Lord from the lowest station as Christ served and Loved the Father from the lowest station, amen. Free will will ultimately choose salvation through Christ. All of creation. No more religion (attempted God bribery); only worship in the new heaven and the new earth where all of creation is redeemed. ALL of Creation, Amen. This is my feasible hope.

    If Jesus represents God who wants to heal us, Jesus done so many miracles in the bible for people. Why doesn't God do miracles for us today? Why doesn't God want us today to be happy and healthy like he did in the bible? Why doesn't God move us out of situations that we have no control over?

    • @brotherjoeradosti

      I think the answer(s) come (and this is reflected in 'Breakfast of Champions', Chapter 8 in The Shack) from our human freedom and the voluntary limits on Divine Power over our choices.That doesn't resolve all the problems you're raising, but I hope it's some kind of start. I personally would like a miracle wand waved over every grief or pain I currently experience, but it does seem that the road to wholeness is never as direct or simple as I prefer it to be.

    • @cbaird9028
      @cbaird9028 2 роки тому +1

      First of all, Jesus came to heal. Not physical healing, although he did do that, but he came so that you would be healed from the sinner that you are, and I am.
      Jesus came fully God, fully man, came to save the lost...the LOST. Without Jesus you are lost.
      Jesus said. I am the way the truth and the life
      No one... That means NO ONE comes to the father except through Me.
      So, anything other than CHRIST does not work.
      That's why God said about the narrow gate in Matthew 7:13-14., Read for yourself!

      Did you know that Paul the apostle who wrote much of the new testament had an eye problem, so gross that he was told that others if the church would give him their eye, if they could?
      The healing is a spiritual healing. We live in a fallen and broken world. We have the hope of heaven- those that belong to Christ.
