Sir I really appreciate this video and it really helped me so much. I had a blast at the range and I remembered what u said in this video u just don't know how much of a help u was thank u
only problem I have is that is still aiming. when you say don't aim with a red dot is kinda odd. You just aim differently by using a projected visual que instead of a metric on the gun itself. look at the target to aim not the gun.
Great presentation.. I enjoyed the video very much and the repeated emphasis on key points. Can’t wait to shoot my new edc x9 with SRO for the first time tomorrow morning.. Thank you.. Randy
I love aimpoint but you went all way around the world just to pay attention to the red dot. The gun still ain’t zeroed in but I am concentrating on that dog gone red dot 🔴
Seems to me like a lot of fancy words to say "stay threat focused while placing the dot where you need the bullet impact". Firearms instructor and combat vet of 22 years.
Granted, the language could have been a little less esoteric and stilted, but after viewing this video for the third time, as a newbie to Red Dots, I came away with an epiphany when it came to shooting with my Red Dot Sight. Buck's presentation is less of a "how to manual" and more of (and I hate to use these words) a philosophical "school of taught" approach to shooting with a Red Dot Sight. I would suggest everyone viewing Buck's video at least twice.
The first we're going to talk about today is threat focus. So typically speaking with iron sights, you establish a naming solution. In other words, you point the gun in the direction of the target. You find your front sight, you drive it into the context of the rear sight and you negotiate with it. With the red dot sight you don't do that you maintain threat focus. I stopped watching at this point
Somehow this answered exactly what I was looking for. I'm a black sheep here, even though I wasn't expecting this, I enjoyed it even though it could be cut in half. The title should be different though. "The Survival Benefits Of Red Dot VS. Iron Sights - Fight Or Flight Preparation For Newbies Episode 1" lol
I really don’t care how well that you present your weapon, a red dot is about as useful as pointing your weapon in the general direction, closing your eyes and pulling the trigger, if you haven’t even bothered to turn it on. I think you missed an important step!
Not trying to be a jerk, but this is very repetitive. You keep saying that same things over and over. When you do that people stop listening and if there is any new pertinent information mixed in they are likely to miss it. Just my opinion as a viewer. Take it as you will.
aren't there two red dots because we have two eyes? my dominant eye gives blurrier image than my other eye... * I'm right handed and my right eye focuses on objects, but my left eye sees better.
@@malikjohnson33 I DO have astigmatism, but, how is this relevant? AFAIK, all people (with two eyes) that focus on a far target will see nearer objects twice - we cannot focus on all distances at the same time!
@@OrenLikes not to sure honestly I would say look into it and do your research I just know it’s very common with people who have astigmatism’s But that’s just my guess due to the fact one eye is blurrier then the other
You don’t see two dots because you’re only looking thru the sight with your dominant eye, the other eye is on the target where your focus should be. You don’t even need to see the target thru the sight, you only need to see the dot. Your brain will superimpose the image of dot seen from your dominant eye, and the image of the target seen from your other eye, into one single image.
The title of your post is “how to use a red dot” however you actually never even bothered to demonstrate how you turn the damn thing on. That’s hilarious
Trying to impress us with the quick rack of the slide does not work,,,, From what YOU say,,, evident a laser is 10 times better at close range,, red dot for distance,, Thanks for your time,, but I go with laser for short, close threat,,
Trying to impress us with your laser does not work. No reputable trainer alive uses a laser on a handgun. Thanks for your time, but I go with a red dot for short, close threat.
Buck, you keep saying the same thing over and over. And the way you are wording things can throw off an inexperience shooter. To sum up what you were trying to say is this. Practice with your red dot and get it down to muscle memory, so that you don’t have to go looking for the red dot all the time. It’s that simple! All that talk about your biology made me think I was in a science class . 😢
In all fairness, this man _is_ a salesman, after all. If you want a message to stick, you repeat it over and over - and over. As it drags on, the pseudo-scientific sounding jargon starts to give off a condescending vibe. Almost as though he's tailoring his message to an audience he views as gun totin' hicks who see themselves as special forces _operators_ - or not.
So I need to negotiate with my sights, understand thresholds and develop aiming solutions, got it.
Very well said and presented. Learned more in 7 minutes than others that just ramble on with their jibber-jabber.

Very clear 👍🏻 Repetition is the mother of learning. 7 minutes is a fairly short video.
this video was way too long tbh
ChatGPT, can you expand "aim at the target" into 5000 words and be as verbose and grandeloquent as inhumanly possible.
So that's exactly not what he's saying.

Why wouldn’t you just coalesce with your front iron sight and put the red dot right above your iron side? Is that wrong?
Good information Buck! Thank you!

“Insinuated on the target” I usually aim.
Lol that bit when he draws the weapon then goes silent is just fucking weird.
A thesaurus is dangerous in untrained hands.

Twice... or not at all.
I liked the video! Well done

Good stuff💪
What?
I'm noticing a running gag on Red dot how to videos on youtube. No one ever turns their sight on. Probably an important step.
They all babble and don't explain what you f--king see.
Exactly

Mine turns on automatically, of course.
You don’t turn it on so learn what you’re talking about before complaining about it it turns on with movement

It’s a trend.
It drives me nuts.
Considering how stupid people are now a days . I do not blame him . Always remember there are people who willingly vote for Biden . .
Yeah I pretty much zoned out
I zoned out
I have to agree
I didn’t understand ANYTHING 😂 MAKE THE SIMPLEST CONFUSING lol
Stop analyzing…..practice , practice ,practice.
Yes, you need to practice more
That taught me nothing about how to use a red dot sight.
I'm usually tolerant of this overwrought pseudomilitary word salad bs, but this had to be the most chatgpt gatekeepy explanation of aiming ever.
Same words over and over. 1 minute video but thx

Thank you.
Our brain is amazing!
is this guy trying to hit a word count like a college essay? literally 7 minutes for 15 seconds of information

Most would assume it’s common sense. You should read the owners manual of your dot before you use it.
You must have bought a really cheap one bc any decent red dot is going to be on as soon as you unholster the weapon
Geezus, this guy said nothing

Word salad. Aimpoint should be embarrassed. Feeling much better about my EPS Carry now.
Redundant presentation . You could affect ideas in half the time.
Buck is inebriated by the exuberance of his own verbosity. Not only that, he also tortured the English language in the process.
You're overly wordy, keep it simple and show the mechanics of it's use and talk later.
Plenty of words are being used, but is anything being said?🤔
I tried again Is he paid by the word ?
What does that mean?
