The trick is...is what the first thing it says is always the input portion. Like HDMI to S Video, means HDMI is the input and the S Video is the output. If it says S Video to HDMI, that means S Video is the input and the HDMI is the output. Remember...the first signal format in the converter name is the input, the last signal format (or formats) is the output.
is this what I need to get video/audio from the output of a macbook pro mini display port (thunderbolt) to the (RCA) inputs of a VCR or older TV with RCA input jacks? I'm assuming I need to convert the 'thunderbolt' output to HDMI first.
which is good if you use a dual input camcorder (av & hdmi) and using this converter from the hdmi camcorder?
Hi! Can this be used with probox2 airplus. I have an old TV to connect with?
J-Tech Digital Inc ,
did you have something to convert PAL signal with component cables to NTSC HDMI ?
Looks like a decent device. I am using an older Encoder which uses S-Video & RCA inputs. I think it was from Plextor. However the Xbox one only has an HDMI. As where the plextor inputs do not. So I'm hoping this will work with my encoder. As it is nearly impossible to find the right type of encoder these days for older devices.
can i directly hook Chromecast to the hdmi slot?thanks
Does anyone know if this takes 4.1 HDMI input and still output s-video/composite
I heard about other products like this and stops at the older version 3.1 HDMI Output
from a source to the HDMI input on devises like this IF IT TAKES THE NEWER 4.1 standard
I CAN'T GET ONE FAST ENOUGH,,,,,but i NEED to know before i WASTE money,,,,When you do
read the FINE PRINT you can never find out what you NEED/WANT to know-----UNIVERSAL Means
ALL , but i want word of mouth(CONFIRMATION) Thanks and PLEASE HELP
Does the PAL/NTSC Switch actually work? I just bought one of these from another source and it refuses to do anything but output PAL... which obviously makes it 100% useless.
I used a similar product to record to VCR via S-Video and I get frame tearing when the source is progressive, How to remedy that?
Some devices let you change the resolution from progressive to interlaced but if they don't, you are SOL.
Change it to interlaced. Etc 1080i. . You must be a slow robot to notice a difference.
The main use I can see for this product is that one doesn't want too many tvs around.
As I'm sure many won't have a crt set anyhow and will be using a TV like in the video which most still have at least one sdi input.
A crt should have been used for this video as that's the best use case and top selling point.
Hdmi to multi output like vga would make better sense and not waste time with this.
Vga screens come in cathode ray tube and lcd forms so both especially the cathode vga screen goes as far back as cathode tube used for regular TV broadcast receiving .
I tried all settings, I gave the device away and ended up getting a Chinese HDMI to SDI converter and a AJA SDI to S-Video or Y/C professional converter it works with no tearing at all.
@@Capturing-Memories yea that should do it. Onto a square TV right and everything okay or you don't mind the stretched picture as long as no tearing.. I can only imagine the tearing you're talking about is bad with pink outlines every other second on the refresh
Now This Will Make something now I will Need a good Capture Card
how much do you lose in definition with the transition?
maybe the maxium of quality the cables support.... but by the look of the video on RCA cables the quality looks fine
Hi there,
not sure if you read comments, but does this have input lag? I'd like to use this for gaming on an xbox one on a CRT but its not worth it for me if it has input lag, any information is great, thanks
Ashley Wang
good, but will it support 60hz? I have a 60hz monitor that I'd like to use with it, does it allow you to use 60hz or higher framerates?
Can this hook up my laptop with a CRT tv ?
This video is misleading, it only worked perfectly because he was using composite input on a widescreen tv, on a cathode ray tube tv etc crt will cut out any part of the picture that goes beyond 480i etc crt dimensions for example 480x480 whereas widescreen tvs 720x480. The work around would be to use custom resolution setting in windows to match a square screen so all fits onto it.
The question the is who is ready to use a square screen if they have spent most of their life using widescreen / rectangle screens
You can still use a converter box like this for plugging in your ps1 to generate video and audio. Anything really as long as it's RCA/Composite. However, the quality is really going to suck. I know because I used this same one for my PS1, PS2, Panasonic 3DO, and SNES. I only managed to get 480p out of it, which like I said really sucks. If you have a PS3 or higher that is designed for 1080p resolution, then yes, it'll display it to the full quality, otherwise don't expect these converter boxes to give you anything better for older technology because they won't.
uff, someone talking about AV hardware not able to fix his audio, scary
I have an old Trinitron crt tv and my current HDMI2AV adapter only displays in black and white. Would your product display the composite signal in color?
it displays correct color thru RCA/ composite cable on flat screen TVs that also have component or HDMI inputs but not on my tv that only has RCA/ composite inputs, so it must be a color conversion issue.
Hello Evil Laser,
Thanks for your comment. Our HDMI to Compsite converter will output in color but for your scenario please make sure your source device's color space (RGB/YCbCr) matches the color space of your Trinitron CRT TV.
