Never have I witnessed such epic combinations of genres, energy, brutality, adorableness, cheesiness, and fun, so expertly blended in a single song/performance. To think this was their 2nd song ever just boggles the mind! 🤯🔥🤘🦊
⚡ 💀 💕 / 👍 This was filmed at SHIBUYA-AX for the '2nd Idol Yokocho Festival!! Live Band Special' on April 8th, 2012. There were several other groups featured as well. Early days indeed. The girls are still dressed in their original costumes. They got new ones designed for them a couple of months later for the 'Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!' music video and 'LEGEND〜 Corset Festival' at ROCK-MAY KAN. The skeleton suited fake band were called "Hone" (bones) by the BABYMETAL team. Su, Yui and Moa politely called them "Honi-san" (Mr. Bones). Western fans started calling them Babybones. There were a few late "Hone" appearances near the end of 2013 and in 2014, such as 'LIVE IN SINGAPORE' (their first solo show overseas), some TV appearances, and their "Two Man Show" with ChthoniC in Taiwan. The live Kami Band musicians were first introduced in October 6th, 2012 for 'Legend I' with a two song encore of 'Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!' and 'Ijime Dame Zettai'. Folks are often surprised how long the "Hone" and the live Kami Band overlapped.
Great reaction, but you fell into the 'Line' trap.😁 It is iine (pronounced ee-neh). 'Iine' means 'so good' like a thumbs up emoji👍 it was only the second song they released, that was in 2011 I think (it was their third song but IDZ was released later) and they were clearly establishing very early on that all the usual rules of what you can do, what genres you can mix into one song and so on were not going to apply to BABYMETAL. So EDM, a bit of hip hop/rap and then that drop into death metal - quite possibly the best drop into death metal from hip hop ever (they did warn you - "Yo yo yo yo. Microphone check, one two one two. Are you ready to mosh? Kitsune da o!") - and then back to the EDM to finish. As the song title suggests - it is so good.👍 In most live versions they dropped the rap and it became a call and response (so well done finding a very early performance from 2012). In this instance the growling vocals in the death metal part are explaining the hand sign is not the traditional metal devil horns🤘or maloik, it is the kitsune (fox🦊).
Nice reaction, thanks! Very interesting early version of "Iine" not "Line". They actually say it 24 times hahaha... 🤣 It's cool that this version still has the rap section lyrics. 🤘🦊
