Really enjoyed that and learned a lot. I have been by that Tower of David so many times and now I know who built it!

Maccabees are related to zadok and aaron. This is important for knowing what they support and what they were trying to protect. Thank you!

Maybe it's because all IISHJvids are blurry and low resolution uploads, very poor...even the guy behind Meyers looks bored 9:56 😆

06:55 he is wrong, Constantine made Christianity and other religions legal, 380 AD the Edict of Thessanolica by Emperor Theodosius I made Nicean Christian official. This man ought to know this by now...

It's also incorrect to speak of "Judaism" in the ancient world; the "-ism" that denotes a religious system apart from the rest of life is a relatively modern innovation of the 18th or 19th century. What existed in the ancient world was Jewish/Judaean tradition, a cultus, a legal system, etc., that encompassed all of life. In the ancient world, everyday life in virtually every culture was imbued with what we call the spiritual. "Judaism" is an anachronistic term when speaking of the Roman era.

I like how God's chosen people can't even agree with one another. It's almost as if religion is man made nonsense.
