    Clifford another great video by you. You always seem to hit the right note in what players need the most definitely for me

    Nice video but our definitions of “in front of you” differ. At least 50% of your returns in the dinking segment were far to you right or left where you had to reach to varying degrees where you has much less control and the ball was not in front of you. Of course we must move our feet to have some chance at the return and yes I would like to move such that I return the ball when it is actually in front of me, but as your examples demonstrate that is actually not always possible. FYI I do enjoy your videos!

    Clifford, at your level of play you can do pretty much what you want. If someone were to lob YOU, when do YOU lob back vs reset? Thx!

      @guitta Dabe I would say it depends of the Lob.
      1) there's a lob with spin the ball fly over your head quickly and when it hit the ground kicks fast make it very difficult for you to control the ball. I lob back on those.
      2) the one that fly high without spin or speed, are the one I reset.

    Hi Clifford. I see you use a Joola paddle now. In your opinion, how does it compare to the Engage Pursuit MX? That’s what I still use . I value your opinion.

    I often have to say to myself, "Move, don't reach." Good tip.

    Good tip on movement vs reaching, thanks. I notice on the sharp angled dinks to your backhand, you're turning and crossing your right leg in front of the left. I've seen tips saying you should always sidestep and keep facing the net and not crossover. What's your opinion on that?

    • @CliffPickleball
      @CliffPickleball  2 роки тому +1

      @Thomas Scharton it depends on your abilities and how you feel more comfortable in my case I'm okay with either way. Also if you watch the Pros specially Ben, he always crossing his right leg in front of the left leg in that position.

      @@CliffPickleball "Depends on your abilities" is exactly right. Good point. Learning pickleball I was lucky to get to watch the best players in the world play a couple times a year at local tournaments (in UT, where I used to live). I figured out that I learned more watching the senior players and---not to be sexist but just realistic--also the women pro players than I did watching the 19+ age men's pro bracket. The men pros play a much more aggressive game than I can mimic because 1) they have amazing skill and 2) their speed, flexibility, reflexes and coordination are way beyond me. I'm not saying you can't develop better reflexes and coordination. But it's like the basketball saying, 'You can't coach height." At some point your physical limitations will make you plateau. Thus, of course it's necessary to be ready and willing to get in position but I may have to figure out tweaks where I can't mimic your athletic abilities.

    cliff how do you compare the joola ben johns vs your ex pursuit 6.0? i have the latter right now but wondering if you like the joola better and why? thanks!

    • @CliffPickleball
      @CliffPickleball  2 роки тому

      @Micheal Wu In tournament your 3rd shot drop, resetting, your ability to dink are mostly the skills you'll need to succeed. Joola make it extremely easy to perform those skills. Also got more power and spin than the Pursuit 6.0 but a bit less friendly and difficult to control, I'm still on trial with it balancing things before I make a decision (pretty sure I'm going with it, I haven't pick up my Pursuit for almost 2 months now). The Pursuit has better touch, enough power, spin, one of the complaint I have with my Pursuit 6.0 is resetting, so...

      @@CliffPickleball yeah that makes sense, that's my same issue with my pursuit, i feel like its harder to reset because the face is so poppy. if the crbn 16mm was approved again would that change your mind on using that over the joola?
      my issue with the joola is that i don't get any feedback from it, it feels like im hitting air at times which a very weird feeling / non-feeling ha. also it's pretty head heavy as well. im sure you're much stronger but the fast hands was more difficult for me

    I wish I could move as gracefully and as quickly as Cliff covering and returning lobs-haha, but the tip of trying to return ball to kitchen is a good one.

    When do you pivot your right leg to hit the backhand shot and when not to?
