Luke, get some fibered roof coating. It's usually in an aluminum color, and you can probably find it at a mobile home supply store, or a farm and ranch supply store, like Tractor Supply, etc. Get a paint roller with a long handle, a paint roller tray, and coat the roof. The fibers should plug any leaks, unless they are huge. Even then, 2 coats should do it. Painted our equipment shed on the farm with it, maybe twice in 15 years, and no more leaks. Even painted the side walls with it, too
A little trick to elevate your cooking platform. Measure the diameter size of your table legs. Cur some PVC pipes that have a diameter suitably large enough to insert those table legs into the pipes high enough so that the table can rest on the tops of the pipes once cut to make your desired table top height, taking into account the resting point of the table on the top edge of the pipe. This trick can also be used to level off sleeping cots at a desired height to allow for under the cot storage for beds in a van build out. The PVC pipes just end up as lift supports. You could even add threaded sections for fine leveling adjustments on uneven surfaces. Let's see how that works out for you on your next video. Keep up your good work. Thanks!
You are lucky Luke. I go into shock and start swelling. My throat swells shut. Two pens and a box of benadryl will get me to the hospital. I got stung by yellow jackets when I was 16. I got sick and had to go to hospital. Never had trouble till then. Last sting was in the car with my dad about 15 years ago. Grabbed the pens and dad started driving like a man possessed. Got me to a hospital and saved my life. Just my hero saving me again. We lost daddy in 2020. I really want him back all the time but alas he is walking streets of gold with momma now. I am so glad you are not affected in this manner. Looked like super fun time and tasty meal.
Thank you so much for the cowboy coffee tip. You have no idea how many times I tried to figure out a way to prevent grinds from getting in my coffee cup. The gut information also super helpful. Cheers
Loved this video Luke! Glad you're OK from the sting! I appreciate all of the hard work you go through to make these videos with all of the different shots and angles. I ALWAYS look forward to your videos and I appreciate the info you give and the different gear you test out for us. Thanks again, Luke!
I absolutely love your cabin, your little IGT table, your little fire too! I’m glad that sting wasn’t too bad. Thank you for sharing this adventure! Say hi to Susie, stay safe!!!
Can do it with solar too - an efficient split draws about 1200w max, 400w continuous (average), easily taken care of with a couple of household panels.
In england the most you pay is about $12.00. (£9.90) per item We are so lucky to have free health care and those of us who pay for medication have choice to pay a yearly price of only £114 ($150) to cover all the medication you require. Another great video and great tip for coffee grinds
Omgee....When I seen the 3 bags and the shape of it I knew it was IGT. I was so excited because when you purchased it I was impressed . Couldn't wait till you used it and when you did I loved it more. I'm going to get this for sure. The burgers look's soooo delicious . Your campfire I like that too the mesh wire is awesome. Thankyou for using the IGT and the fire mesh. Another awesome video. Stay Safe and Healthy ALOHA From Hawaii ❤❤❤❤
Learn from my mistake, move your trailer every once in a while, and don't let it sit. Youll wind up with flat spots and dry rot on the tires. Was a costly mistake for me.
true. during the lockdown, plane flights were stopped and parked. one of the maintenance done on those planes were to move them a few inches because the tires can’t stay in place for long…
Tire maintenance was a cause of so many truck failures in the Russian army during the invasion of Ukraine. They failed to move the trucks while stored.
Love your 80° Luke! I live in California and today we’re looking at 99°, and the next seven or eight days between 104° and 114°. I’m just hoping my power stays on so I can run my cooler. If I lose power, I’m in trouble, those high temps are going to be rough.
I was allergic my whole life until I got stung in 2020. I immediately hit the stings with After Bite, and took a Benedryl. No effects from the sting! No swelling! Last summer I got stung 6 times: 2 from one wasp, 4 from another that went down my bra in back. I did the same treatment, and no swelling. My dad got stung twice and dropped dead. My mom revived him, thankfully.
Yea there’s not been a lot of rain at my off grid cabin either Luke my rain catchment tanks are getting low the cabin is in the Appalachian mountains and the grass isn’t getting too high but I like that part I ain’t gotta cut it lol otherwise it’s all good buddy !
I took a wildland course for medical certifications and one class was about epi pen administration, one thing they told us is that most epi pens have two doses in it technically, as in once you use it as instructed it doesn’t inject it ALL into you. Why that is they didn’t say, but they said you can open up the epi pen in emergencies and take out the cartridge and then stick the patient again and get almost a second dose. Of course it’s just to buy you those extra precious minutes to get to the hospital if you need it.
You’re right it probably would be a wise idea Two make a partial garage over your cabin. The roof covering the cabin would help keep the rain and snow off of the trailer and then doing so help prevent leaks.. you said if there’s a leak anywhere in the walls they would crumble. so this might be a good preventative. I have no name for what the structure would be called but I think you know what I mean anyway I just love love love your videos not so much the silent videos I like to hear you talk, but even those are interesting, hi Susie
'In the sun it's a sauna' - using my days in the Army as a reference, all you need is a camo net, or similar and 4 x extendable poles. The poles we had, had an inverted 'basket' on the end, to easily support the net. That will take a lot of the sun away from hitting the roof of the trailer and make it much cooler.
You referring to yourself as lazy in the morning cracked me up :-) That cover over your cabin is a good idea for all the reasons you mentioned. Those two burgers would cost some serious $$$ if you were at a restaurant...with much less ambience! And I feel bad for the heat and humidy you have. I currently live in Arizona Southeast of Tucson, but grew up in Michigan. Humidity is a game changer when it's hot. You feel like you're wearing a hot blanket of wet that you can't take off. Glad your sting wasn't as bad as it could have been! And thanks for the phone tip!
In this areas, everyone fears the wasps-- yellow jackets and the like. Their sting really hurts. Bees tend to leave everyone alone. Enjoy your videos and glad you are okay.
I am not sure how they roofed the trailer, whether it is a membrane or overlapped metal but either way, it is always a good practice to NOT perfectly level your trailer. That particularly applies to a flat top roof. If the roof is lapped metal, look to see the orientation of the overlap and slightly slant the trailer downstream of the underlap and toward a downstream corner. BTW....very pretty outro music.
That coffee combo will put hair on your chest if you don’t have it, and take it off if you do…… It’s my go to when I backpack. 😎🥾🥾 Another great adventure!!

Hey, Luke. I'm glad you're doing okay. I'm highly allergic to wash these everything. And bites actually carry a pop 4 epic bands. If you can it took 24 shots to bring me around my first 24 hours.
Drinking a warm/hot drink in hot weather is actually good for you. Hot drinks can trigger your body's cooling response by stimulating sweat glands. Just make sure you consume plenty of water when doing so 😁
I bought a 6'x12' Cargo Craft in 2009 and outfitted it as a camper just as you did. First trip out, we got on a rough back road road and the heads on nearly half of the screws around the door sheared off, and a small leak developed on one of the windows, but that's it for problems. I've been very happy with it, but let's not talk about gas mileage. I really like what you did inside.
Have you been tested for an allergic reaction to bee venom before ? You mention yellow jacket and wasps and bees have different venom and while you may be allergic to one or both . I have an allergic reaction to honey bees but have been stung numerous times by wasps and have little if any effect other than the initial sting . Also have liquid Benadryl with you for use as a topical ointment and also to drink if your throat starts to swell .
Thank you for saying that about staying calm and I lost my daughter and now I suffer with some mental issues with depression and anxiety and I tend to do the opposite of what you just said I freaked I and I need to learn to do what you said so thank you for that
I never knew cowboy coffee lowered the acid. Good to know! I have special dietary needs, thought for a long time I was allergic to coffee. But some coffee wouldn’t affect me, but even at most places it was still inconsistent. What happens is my throat starts to feel tight, like anaphylaxis, but never to the point I feel like I’m in trouble (but I also stop drinking it, so…). Finally figured out with my doctor it’s acid. So I started using low acid coffee and once in a while I’m able to enjoy coffee again! In case anyone else has these issues, Folgers is the lowest acid off the shelf that I’m aware of. As an aside: Unfortunately, the same effect happens to me when I have ANY amount of alcohol, plus I feel nauseous as a bonus. Therefore the whole “alcohol culture” that seems to dominate American society baffles me.
Luke you should install a roof solar system and some batteries and also where you use a gas generator to charge batteries and power a AC unit and heater for your trailer
Try 26,000 per injection x4 Luke I got chemical poisoning from black rubber belts at work it was a year and a half before the doctors got me diagnosed it’s called rubber poisoning a lot of tire makers have to retire workers for this and I triggered on parabin too there taking parabin out of all soaps and other things these days by the way those injections didn’t help me at all so yes guys get and stay insured !! Btw rinvoq is what’s got me cleared up .
Unsolicited suggestion over here😂 but I’d build out a little “lean to” on the cabin:) Thats what I’d do anyway:) there are a ton of really good blue prints online that could help ya, and also make it removable/temporary, but also very sturdy considering the weather conditions you have there:) I’m in Minnesota so I know allllll to well about what the weather can do to just about any structure 😂👍🏼😂:) I really love your channel so thanks for all your content 👍🏼
I have been SO SCARED that I did not react emotionally at all. Maybe that's what happens to you when you get a bee sting, Luke. All I know is when it happens to me, I just can't BELIEVE what happened so I'm just too stunned to react right away.
Re epi pens, Generic Brand is the word you were looking for. I’m from the UK and I get my epi pens free as I live in Scotland and we get free prescriptions at the moment
Wow, you are lucky. Of course, so am I. Last time I was stung was by a wasp the day before I started to school in 1954. I had looked so forward to school but I had my eye swollen almost completely shut that first day. Memories. Lol
1K for an EpiPen? Geez, that is harsh. In Australia, we have something called the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme in which the federal government subsidises the cost of certain drugs. Here we can buy an EpiPen twin pack for AUD $38.
I think the term you were looking for is "Generics" for the non-name brand meds. I didn't see other responses but I'm sure you've gotten others to states this.
Good idea to have multiple doses of epinephrine since one dose only lasts 20-30 minutes. Benadryl is good for secondary treatment and steroids third, but those are slower to act than epi. Generic Epipens are cheaper, but all of them have short shelf life and expire way too fast.
I would get some of those silica gel packs to take the humidity out of the air once you close up the trailer. Don't want to come back to a trailer full of mold.
@nisemonoyarou German here, Goddamn 30° C with 55% humidity. I hate it especially since I work up exactly until sundown. Haven't seen real rain in like nearly 3 weeks, usually at least 2 days in two weeks it is getting down(Source: Trust me bro), and we had stormfloods phothezised from the national government civil warning system. Gettin' cooked all sides here. Stay hydrated and also, safe!
An epinephrine inhaler is another tool to keep with you ask your doctor about it my husband died from a yellow jacket sting and was allergic to five different stinging but I understanding is you can be allergic today and not tomorrow or vice versa good luck man I love your show keep it keep it going please
If you get a chance to speak with an allergy Md, you can build up your own natural immunities with allergy injections. Not only does it work, but you’re now safe to get deep into nature.
I'm am also allergic to bee stings as well. I wasn't when i was a little boy. It wasn't till i got older, i got stung on the foot, and half my face swelled up, and my left eye closed up for a week. But then i got stung on the hand a few years later, and no happen 🤔
İf you have reaction to bee or other insects venom you should consider to use sentless soap. Not shower gel or other sented products like cologne or any other thing dor perspiration. İ use only bayleaf soap. İts pretty much odourless and repels bees and wasps. İ know the suffering… and i am always so happy that you use metric sytem and celcius so i can easily learn some of the measurements. Thanks
Thank you from this elderly non-camper woman who loves your videos and adventures and reviews as well as following your life as you share with us . God bless!

A car port would cover the cabin just perfect.
Yes I agree one hundred percent ❤
Best thing is they'll install it quickly

Luke, I see you need to do something with the tires on the trailer. They look low and maybe you need to get some covers for them.
Those burgers look fantastic!
How many of you have now decided to grill burgers for dinner tonight? I know I am! 🍔

If you got a wide enough carport to put over the trailer, it would also act as an awning allowing you to stay outside in the rain.
You didn't lose your cool...you just made up new words!

Thanks
