A few interesting comments here about Aimpoint. Please understand this was our FIRST attempt using it during normal play (we are still practicing, this takes time like ANY change) Also when vlogging we cannot read our putts whilst filming each other as we would do during a normal round to save time. Lastly there seem to be a lot of people trashing the theory of Aimpoint who clearly have never been on a course or used it before. I would always recommend practicing the technique first before drawing sweeping conclusions, that is what we are trying to do :)
Peter Finch Golf I think people forget that, like us, you are always looking at ways to improve your golfing ability. The 'Quest for the open' was very well received by the following - but yet when you try to better yourself and your golf game, people get shitty about it. Do what you need to do. If using aimpoint saves the shots required to get you playing in this years Open, then people would be very quick to forget their criticisms.
I have been using aimpoint for 1 season and i gotta say you are doing a very good job. Love your videos! And those who trash talk you about using AP. F*ck them :D
These coursevlogs are getting so enjoyable to watch with all the new additions like the shot tracer or even the drones angles sometimes. Really feels like walking on the course with you guys. Keep up the good work Pete!
I have been a faithful follower for a couple of years now and all I can say is keep doing what your doing. Because of you two guys I have found a new love for this game.
Pete i check out your videos every upload and the thing i enjoy the most is how much enjoymemt you get out of golf and how positive you are despite conditions or how you are playing. If everyone had this attitude not only in golf but in general the world would be a better place. Watching all the way from Wagga Wagga. Keep up the work
Course looks superb but with the wind so tough!! Aim point with regards to the reads looks great but as you said it will take time to get used to and fully trust it. Keep up the great work 👌⛳️
everyone on here giving out about pace of play and how long they're taking over putts need to get over themselves the two lads are bringing great content everyday while also trying to improve their own games... keep it up rick and Pete iv been watching from basically the start of your channels and all I can say is every video is getting bigger and better keep it up 👍
Don't use aim point myself but know how to use it. Where I find it very useful is if your really struggling to see a line you can use your feet as a "second opinion" Found it hard to move away from how I'd always read greens.
I think the majority of people understood you guys are trying something new and appreciate that. I also get your point about the constraints of filming on the pace of play. I think the issue is the editing - most people want to see you hitting shots, not lining them up. That said, I know it's tricky getting the balance - and it only needs tweaking slightly. Perhaps a separate video going into detail about AP. BTW I subscribe to both Rick's channel as well as yours and Crossfield's, and you all do a good job in different ways. Keep it up.
Cheers bud, I think the balance is key trust me, if we edited the putting set up out there would be a number of comments asking why we are editing it out :)
I've not watched the vlog yet in regards to aimpoint. But I was taught. Stand feet over middle of untended line. Or both feet on the low side. My routine is mark ball. Walk the lowside get a quick foot reading, get my line, put ball back and wait for my turn to putt. I tend to have that all done before it's my turn. It's only slow if you do it all when it's your turn to putt, rather than as soon as you get on the green. Everybody should get their ball lined up before it's their turn to play. R&A recommended Different for these guys with filming though.
Loving the series and am curious about AP but not sure I would have the patience to use it... ...which probably explains my lack of good scoring LOL Cheers
Pete, what is the move you do before you step up to the ball? You take your arm and restrict the other like an isometric exercise. Please explain what you're going for.
i think ap can work, but you have to train it a lot. i dont think it is something for weekend golfer. it will slow down a lot and there will be no benefit. but for good and regular players it can help (when you train it a lot)
Did you see the bloke who sells golf balls from other side of the fence next to 14th tee box? He saved me loads of money as I lost quite a few balls other week when I played there!
Pete, definitely noticed a strange increase in negativity & sometimes plain trolling on your vids & also Rick's videos lately (and not just on that controversial, really shouldn't be controversial, Finch Friday). Not sure what's going on but I genuinely hope neither you nor Rick take any of it to heart. I'm sure you both know enough to ignore non-constructive/ignorant comments, but you're also still human so please remember...Clearly, the vast majority of us are still golf fanatics (thanks in large part to you guys) who truly appreciate the time/effort/and quality of the FREE content we get from you & Rick. Keep up the great work.
Always found it harder playing downwind than into (the) wind .. there's the excuse for you Pete .. love the way you guys miss out 'the' when you speak ;)
Pete, Pete, Pete... I apologize for my overzealous comments on Part 1 and unleashing the wrath of the Golf Gods upon you. Look forward to seeing Part 3. #yougotthis #getittogetherman
Mr Q monument golf is the company that makes it. You can purchase it through their website or check eBay. I got mine on eBay for $20 brand new...$10 less
Any new technique tends to send you backwards before you go forwards, all golfers know this. Question Pete. Do you think you will stick with AP or is it more of a trial? I suppose the true testament is whether you adapt it ongoing?
This aim point is interesting, the reads seem very good with it, yet never seen you both struggle to hole as many putts, think maybe its because with you trying a new technique maybe taking the eye off of the speed etc? Either way i think i want to look into aim point more as it seems to take out just using your eye for a read!
340 yard drive = 1 stroke Dispersion variability 30-60 yards 10 foot putt = 1 stroke Dispersion variability "millimeters" Us amateurs lose more strokes putting than on any part of our game, mostly because we don't know how to read greens, nor do we have a routine for doing so. Become a better putter by 1 stroke per hole and you'll feel different about reading greens. Pros spend more time reading greens than hitting full shots, plus someone helps them read the green! These guys are trying to educate and entertain. Watching the pros on TV doesn't show you their putting process, because they know we will complain. So they cut it out and give us commercials to make us buy clubs that we believe will transform our hook or slice. But then again, their aren't trying to help us with our game.
I would really like to learn more about aim point...If Adam Scott makes it work for him, it can't be a bad technique...and to think, Rory hit a drive over 400 yards!!! Holy Crow!!
Great vid. Good to see new techniques and both of you putting alot of effort into new things. People complaining about FREE entertainment and advise.... Morons. Keep it up
Aim point is a pain in the ass but if it gets the ball in the cup,why not, might try it myself but if the ball doesn't go in you look a Wright tit, super course pity it's so windy🌬
Haha these comments 🤣 - professional golfers need routines and Rick and Pete are no different. Golf vlogs like Pete already said in his pinned comment is not identical to normal golf as you aren't able to prepare like you would normally when someone else is putting. This, along with other factors (actually playing with the new technique for the first time on the course), at least doubles the time it would normally take around the greens and on an emptyish course whats wrong with that? Too many people want to be fed with silver spoons - get over yourselves people!
My point is, your channel has quite a few subscribers (myself included) I think if we were all to emulate this putting technique then we would probably be holding up a lot of play. It seems to me that some of the new rules being introduced are there to speed up play. This just slows it down again in a major way. On a separate note, I do enjoy your videos and will continue to
You two gents are the only UA-camrs that i am seriously subscribed to. You guys are pretty much apart of my daily routine. Love the videos and banter. Keep up the great work.
Club golfers giving it the beans about rate of play? Give it a rest lads, the course is quiet and these lads are pro's even with Aim Point rate of play is still good. Content is only getting better. These guys are trying increase interest in this great game, while inpatient club golfers ruin it for everyone. If you want to play a fast sport, don't play golf.
To be honest I don't mind you using aim point and everything like that but your and ricks vlogs have purely been talking about aimpoint... I mean use it if it suits you but don't ram it down our throats :/ First time I've ever had to say anything bad about the vlogs, love em :)
Ppl need to get over themselves about slow play, as you can all see the course wasn't busy!!! So what better place to practice than on the course.. Jealous ppl maybe Pete?
Your vlogs used to be interesting. Now you spend a lot of time over the putts. Your stance is both not very good. This is not an aimpoint or not question. Go an see Andy Gorman both to improve your putting.
A few interesting comments here about Aimpoint. Please understand this was our FIRST attempt using it during normal play (we are still practicing, this takes time like ANY change)

we went down to Jamie Donaldson at Woburn, we've only had the one session though. We need a few more to develop our understanding a little more
cheers Steven :)

thank you very much :) will do and thanks for watching

I always catch up with these lads when I'm on a day off! And the girls are taking a nap! Nothing to moan about here! Keep it up lads! 🙂🤘
cheers bud
These blogs are so much fun to watch, banter is good, two unique swings to enjoy, and wonderful drone footage! Thanks for the hard work guys!
Pete i check out your videos every upload and the thing i enjoy the most is how much enjoymemt you get out of golf and how positive you are despite conditions or how you are playing. If everyone had this attitude not only in golf but in general the world would be a better place. Watching all the way from Wagga Wagga. Keep up the work
Enjoying the vlogs, Pete & Rick! What a brute of a course, esp with the wind! I predict Rick sinks a putt on the last for the win.
keep watching :) it gets dramatic
Just saw my 9 year old son do a Finchy take away. Smooth as silk. Keep it up and ignore the haters. You provide great content for everyone.
You guys always play on the best courses.
Course looks superb but with the wind so tough!! Aim point with regards to the reads looks great but as you said it will take time to get used to and fully trust it. Keep up the great work 👌⛳️
I have got to get back over the pond! Great vids Pete.
Cheers!
thanks Travis
Awesome blogs Pete, keep em coming.
cheers Bryan
Good videos Pete looks a lovely course.
cheers Adam

go boys!
People coming to your channel, to watch your free content, and complain 😂🙈 Keep up the great work gents
Ive started looking into it and it could be good. Don't know until you try it... Keep it up. Also Congrats on the WRX.

I hole in oned the 13th when I was 8. Such a good course
tough course I played it with no wind off yellows and scored 32 points was well pleased.
I've not watched the vlog yet in regards to aimpoint.

Great video! And i think you guys should do a competition like closest to the pine on the range. You guys did it last year. I love thos videos
Loving the series and am curious about AP but not sure I would have the patience to use it...
...which probably explains my lack of good scoring LOL
Cheers
haha cheers Malc

It's the same as anything really, just needs to be practiced loads
Love these vids 😍
cheers James
Great advert for Aim point - "My technique has never been better and I've holed less putts than I ever have done", Rick Shields 25/03/2017.
Lol comment of the day;)
he was talking about nerves here bud
Did you see the bloke who sells golf balls from other side of the fence next to 14th tee box? He saved me loads of money as I lost quite a few balls other week when I played there!
haha yes! He almost jumped out at our buggy

how hard was the wind blowing overall on the course? Nice video!
very hard 30+mph
Always found it harder playing downwind than into (the) wind .. there's the excuse for you Pete .. love the way you guys miss out 'the' when you speak ;)
we are rather Northern :)
Pete, Pete, Pete... I apologize for my overzealous comments on Part 1 and unleashing the wrath of the Golf Gods upon you. Look forward to seeing Part 3. #yougotthis #getittogetherman
Pete, what's the name of the company that makes the magnetic cover for your range finder? I dig that thing and want to get one. Thanks!
Mr Q monument golf is the company that makes it. You can purchase it through their website or check eBay. I got mine on eBay for $20 brand new...$10 less

Pete for the Win I reckon 🏌️ or he will hit the next marker post
340 yard drive = 1 stroke
Dispersion variability 30-60 yards
10 foot putt = 1 stroke
Dispersion variability "millimeters"

Hey Rick are you ok? Noticed the last few months you've had a bit of a cough. Need to that checked out.
finally subsiding now, he was struggling though
I would really like to learn more about aim point...If Adam Scott makes it work for him, it can't be a bad technique...and to think, Rory hit a drive over 400 yards!!! Holy Crow!!
What do you use for the shot tracer?
shot tracer app
Man that's a big 150 marker at the golf course where I play here and Utah it's only like two feet high and the width of an iron😂
Great vid. Good to see new techniques and both of you putting alot of effort into new things. People complaining about FREE entertainment and advise.... Morons. Keep it up
Are you going to do a whats in the bag 2017 pete ?
Just putt it
Aim point is a pain in the ass but if it gets the ball in the cup,why not, might try it myself but if the ball doesn't go in you look a Wright tit, super course pity it's so windy🌬
ignore the hate Pete. also, I read someone suggesting that you edit out your discussions, preshot post-shot. please don't. that's why we tune in
I got a hole in one when I was 8 on the 13th
i noticed a typo on either the thumbnail or video title, great video though
What 3 wood is rick currently using?! Thx
Cobra
Don't watch these videos if you don't like the pace of play:s
even from yellow tees this course is difficult.
In this wind yes 100%
which app you use for the shot tracer?
It's called shot tracer just type it into app store
shot tracer
thanks!!

Imagine playing behind these 2
I mean imagine waiting behind these 2
it would be a delight and you would be let through if held up

I'd ask to join them and hopefully learn something that would help improve my game
Rick, it looks to me like the ball is not rolling well AT ALL since you switched to the evnroll. Just what I'm seeing.
Pete playing head games with his banter on hole 14 during Rick's final putt. Not very nice Mr. Finch lol
Mwahahaha
You two gents are the only UA-camrs that i am seriously subscribed to. You guys are pretty much apart of my daily routine. Love the videos and banter. Keep up the great work.
Can you do more coaching vids plz Pete? I think you will get more subs to
I'll keep doing a mix, there are already a lot on my channel though
Come on guys' this AP really slows you down and the putts do not fall either.
The shot tracer always loses the ball at the apex.
if you can design a better one for the i-phone let me know :)
Club golfers giving it the beans about rate of play? Give it a rest lads, the course is quiet and these lads are pro's even with Aim Point rate of play is still good. Content is only getting better. My TM R15 3 wood will never come out my bag. I hit better and just as far as my M1 driver

some people like it others don't, you can't please everyone and shouldn't want to
Both of you take too much time over your putts
U guys need to stop with the "jedi aiming crap" and just get back to the basics... line it up and roll it in with your natural feel!!
Please stop dicking about with AimPoint. Putting is taking forever and still not holing anything !
Your vlogs used to be interesting. Now you spend a lot of time over the putts. Your stance is both not very good. This is not an aimpoint or not question. Go an see Andy Gorman both to improve your putting.
