Richie, thanks so much for this video. Bickert is my favorite jazz guitarist, and I have been borderline obsessed with his playing for the last year. I would love to see a future lesson analyzing Ed’s comping. His rootless harmonic approach to chord solos define his sound from my perspective.

Great lesson, Richie! Keep the Ed Bickert lessons coming. This solo is beautiful and very harmonically rich, rhythmically interesting, and melodic.

What a magnificent interpretation! This music takes me to a place where I want to stay forever. What an honor to play this for Segovia the most important of all classical guitarists. Bravo for Benedetti

Thank you so much, Bickert is my favourite jazz guitarist! Such beautiful chords phrases and lines! I appreciate that you take the time to analyze his music and to make this video for us, Bickert (it seems to me) isnt talked about much on the music scene (at least via lessons on youtube etc), so Im always happy when I find people like you who cover his beautiful playing 🙂

My pleasure, like I said in the video, when it comes to Bickert I can spend all day transcribing him. So much to learn!

I feel like jazz guitar is a foreign language, I can say some words and phrases but I don't know what I'm saying... I feel like your way of explaining notes over chords as interval numbers is a little like translating for me, it fascinates me and intrigues me but it is daunting and intimidating at the same time

You have a nice channel. Are you trying to tell me that as a teacher, using a guitar with markers wouldn't be a better way to teach guitar. Really? @@RichieZellon

@@genec8393 Yes, it is for beginners but still, you're missing the true point of my answer which is part of the reason I don't play a guitar with markers!
