How Long Does Minecraft Have Left?

  • The long awaited Minecraft video is finally here, I hope all of you will enjoy it. In this video I talk about Minecraft, and how long it's ongoing meteoric resurge in popularity will continue, and also about how long Minecraft itself, will continue. Currently it's 8am at the time of writing this because I stayed up all night editing the video and i'm also tired so goodnight.

In this video I talk about Minecraft, this isn't a usual Minecraft but challenge video, or a Minecraft challenge, or a Minecraft speedrun, or a Minecraft Hardcore 100 Days challenge, but instead it's a video essay. In this essay I talk about Minecraft's current resurge in popularity, heralded in by Minecraft celebrities like Dream, TommyInnit, Sapnap, GeorgeNotFound, Ranboo, etc. In the video I talk about how long this popularity is going to last for, and how long Minecraft will last for. Also, while i might not mention it in the video, Mojang’s recent decisions with the 1.19.1 update have certainly given people many strong opinions on the future of the game, and where minecraft might be 2-4 years from now if the chat report feature stays in the game.

Do you just asume dream's community consists of only small childs who dont know how to write a sentence but still manage to put in 12 different swear words?
Just take this video for example. With roughly 1000 comments and 225k views barely 0.5% of people even wrote a comment. It just so happens that some people like to comment more often then others. So what you see in the end is heavily distorted. Btw this just scales up for even larger videos. I think I needed the break though because when I came back there was so much to explore. It has been about two years since I quit Fortnite and I am still not showing any signs of stopping. I recently bought my own PC and now I am hooked on Java edition and it is awesome. I'm 23 years old now and I grew up playing video games and loving my time with them; however, minecraft is one of those games that never really pulled me in. I have fond memories of occasionally hopping on to play with friends, but those periods were brief and sparse. I could never figure out why I couldn't get into it as much as other games even though it has all of the things I like in a video game like freedom, exploration, crafting, and creativity to name a few. I sank countless enjoyable hours into somewhat similar games like Subnautica and Garry's mod and could spend the entire day playing until fatigue is the only thing that pulls me away for the day but with minecraft I never had that experience. I almost feel as though something's wrong with me and envy those that are so fond of the game and hold so many good memories of it and wish I had whatever you need to have such a fun time with what seems like an endless experience. I have it on both xbox and pc and this video inspired me to give it another shot and really be patient with myself and the game this time. I think maybe I go into it as well as other games and maybe we all make this mistake with new experiences, expecting it to be like previous experiences and not allowing it to be great for what it objectively is unbiased by our expectations and past experiences.

My god times fly, but i will always have memories of that playthrough and the times i ended up having with minecraft, all the way up until mid way through my time at Uni. I think when it comes to Minecraft's popularity I have to say for me at least it was not about Minecraft becoming popular it was more about having fun in game that you can git loss in for hours or maybe years.
To simplify its more about the experience you create well playing the game. That's what it was always like for me for years. Minecraft blowing up for the first time just increased my enjoyment for the game but even after other games took it's spot I stilled played the game when everybody thought it was a "dead game".
But still this is my own opinion maybe other people have different views about popularity on UA-cam with Minecraft.

This brought a tear to my eye! (And then some.) I love this game so much. People always say I don't seem the type to be into a game like this, in fact, I'm not a gamer, I'm not into any games or gaming in general. But I have been playing this game since 1.2! I've played it on PC, mobile, and Xbox. Even though I don't binge it anymore as much as I used to, every so often I get an urge to start playing, and even though I don't do more than simply mine, fish, or explore, I always come out happier-a week later! I have had build plans from when I was in college, that I'm pretty sure I'll still build one day; I have worlds and servers I started with 3 of my siblings a long time ago and still go back to. Now my other 3 and youngest siblings are in that age where they get to play it too, and I have been inspiring them and motivating them to log on at least once a day!
My first ever tattoo that I got way back was of a (Minecraft) diamond! People always say, think about your first tattoo and if you really want it, make sure it has meaning and you won't regret it in the years to come. Well, it's been 8 years and I've never regretted it as I knew then that I wouldn't!
There is a line in a song from this artist (Lomelda) whom I recently discovered, which perfectly encapsulates the joy of Minecraft-"it's infinite, you'll never quit."
    I'll never quit!

Beautiful video and explanation, though not to the point, but I love it. And that quote at the end, man, words can’t even describe how nostalgic it is.
And, the thing is, I remember playing MC in 2019, then I quit. I thought I quit. But that was just a break, getting my inspiration little by little again with creators hyping it up. I finally took interest in redstone, and I came back in 2021.
Every game is like this. You get bored of the game, thinking it’s not fun anymore. But, you will come back. You will eventually play that game again. (Except those you hate, of course)
Remember, a game may end, but your memories, they last a lifetime. No, not even a lifetime. Forever. It will pass down to your children, grandchildren, and even more.
Thank you for reading, and goodbye.
