    With respect, the video's title was about rope length for beginners. I am a beginner 6'4" and found out very quickly using the step on the rope length gauge technique leaves a great deal to be desired.
    Im now focusing on getting the correct form, with my elbows back, hands near the body at or about my natural waist.
    Found its important to notice and adjust your rope so its impact point is just before your toes and when skipping your rope forms an elongated oval shape around your body. When the rope reaches its apex (highest point in rotation) no more than a 9 - 12 inches (23 - 30 centimeters).
    Skipping in front of a mirror is essential as you can see the rope's form its oval around your body. Again keeping hands at or near your natural waist, shoulders back, head and chin down/level and rotating the rope around you using your wrists only.
    It takes practice, practice practice. I've been athletic all my life and very successful. But learning to skip correctly and efficiently is a humbling experience in that I have to be "bad" at something for a while in order to acquire the kinesthetics, balance, flexibility and endurance to get better.

    I'm 5'2" and still would like to go to the underarm length....,but my friend said the rope looks so long that way for me as it's hitting so far away from my foot😊 I think you're perfectly right,it all depends on the technique and where you're comfortable with. Thanks for another very useful vlog. Take care .

    for me that wants to copy your style, I'll set my rope in my rib cage area too. With that, I will be forced not to flare my arm outside and eventually it will become my normal form

    So for a boxer what do you recommend ? Long or short ? Because boxers do speed too

    • @gab5012
      @gab5012 9 місяців тому +1

      Yeah that confused me a bit because boxers do speed but he implied that boxers use longer ropes (not that long though still shorter than the armpit test for him). That being said I’m pretty sure Floyd Mayweather and other boxers (I say Floyd cuz there are more clear clips of him skipping online) look like they have longer ropes and just still go very fast with a lot of tricks

    • @djtruedomination
      @djtruedomination 22 дні тому

      To me you can be fast with a longer rope. I prefer long ropes and generate speed.

    I have been following you for years and I share your videos with all my PT clients, and get them to buy your ropes.
    I’ve had many many money ropes - and other styles of ripe - off you for me and my health club members.
    So this is said with affection, and a desire to see your channel thrive and expand, cos I love it.
    Please, please, please get rid of the pallets and garbage in the background of your recent videos.
    You spent tens of £1000s to paint the house, and redo the interior, but now most of your vids are spoiled by piles of trash behind you.
    Just honest feedback; take it or reject it as you see fit. If it were me I’d get rid of the trash from all videos.
    You’re still the most elegant and accomplished jumbo roper on UA-cam.

    17 and a half minute video just to advise how long a jump rope should be... I understand UA-cam and being an "influencer" you have to get people to like you and stay engaged with your content, but jesus christ is it annoying to try and find simple information that can literally just be shown and not a single word spoken... Thank fuck for the highlight in the timeline
