Wow, 2.7% off the tap is really good! Is that what you always get? Another great video Tony, It's obvious your in your element when talking about maple syrup here in the Hoosier land. Good luck with your season.
Thanks John. No, our sap typically runs around 1.5%. The sample I was using in this video was collected a few days earlier, and had been frozen and thawed a couple of times beforehand. I'm thinking it was more concentrated because of the way I handled it. I've also read where some folks are claiming the Milwaukee unit struggles to give an accurate reading once the brix drops low, so that may be part of it. I'm definitely gonna do a lot of comparison between the three devices before trusting it completely! Fun stuff! Good luck there in Freeman!
Thanks! For several years we used a homemade RO that we put together ourselves, using (5) 150 gpd membranes. It worked great, but we just outgrew it. So for this season, we have a new 60gph single post unit from the folks at RO Bucket. Excited to see what it does for our small operation! Good luck with your season!
Very good video and informative on the gauges you need. Your like a Homesteader, saw cutting scientist!👍
A crazy, mad scientist maybe! lol.
