Love mine with smooth 🍒 bone. I usually use traditional puukkos but i find myself picking this more and more often especially if i do something around the garden. Edit. The edge was little too obtuse. I gave mine around 20degrees. I find it takes lovely toothy edge.
Rough Ryders got me into slip joints. Case are too expensive to just buy a bunch and see if you like them, but rough Ryder are made well (there’s some lemons obviously), and I was impressed by what I’ve gotten. I’ve had to return a couple over the years, but they’re warrantied for life. I’ve got a lot of them, as I decided to collect them along with the vintage stuff, and rough Ryders are great users for sure. I recommend their carbon steel knives, they are made of T10 tool steel and from what I understand, it’s basically Chinese 1095. They have about 4 or 5 series with that steel and they’re great. Also, they make some VG-10 steel slip joints for the same low prices as their other stuff, and it’s the real deal, ppl tested the Rockwell on them to see. So yeah, if you’re against buying Chinese, I’ll never convince you but if you don’t mind, I def recommend them to ppl along with SAKs as first skip joint options. I grew up with traditional knives as a kid. Then I went to tactical ECT, but with the economy the way it is I really can't justify spending the money on a spiderco ECT right now. These knives have gotten me excited about the hobby again, I e already ordered 1 RR and I actually dug out some of my old made in usa schrades and started carring them. Forgot how useful they are.

Puts me in mind my case XX hunter, with few variations. My rough Ryder knifes sharpen up and seem to cut fine for similar uses., and if I break it I'm not out a knife I'd really grieve over
if only the Rough Rider lacked the double pulls on both blades. ☹️ I know RR is not the first with that to my six eyes (with bifocals) EWWwwwgly feature, but for me, it is still a deal murderer. Both the offshore Old Timer and Marbles two blade folding hunters (and the considerably more spendy vintage pre-2004 Imperial-Schrade family of brands, Gladstone, MI. Marbles, and Camillus made Buck 2 blade slipjoint folding hunter,) lack the double pulls. If RR dumped that feature on the (yellow) Classic Carbon (preferred) or Classic Carbon 2 version, or even the G-10 version, I would get one. As it is, I'll "make do" with my offshore Old Timer and Marbles 2 blade slipjoint folding hunters ... even though I would love one with 1095 or T-10 carbon steel blades that will patina.

Real nice knife. Took me about 2 years to collect almost the entire line. I don't use them because they are not replaceable.
