    I am a completely self taught fashion illustrator/ designer. It can be extremely stressful trying to figure things out on your own without a mentor or guide. This video helped me out extremely well in understanding shading. I applied the same technique you used in the face to a garment and the results were impeccable! Thank you so much! I look forward to watching more videos and learning! : )

    Your point is totally accurate. But be confident in yourself, i feel that you're trying to explain things in a way that's not familiar to yourself. Just be yourself when you speak and that would make it easy for us to understand too. :)

    I didn't quite get anything out of this because it seems like you know what you're doing but decide how you were going to explain it beforehand

      I think you have to learn a few more basics about face construction, light sind so on. Them you can understand what these planes are for.

    what brand of pencils are you using?

    • @joshbauer3694
      @joshbauer3694 9 років тому +1

      ***** they do matter. now of course a total beginner won't become a master by using a certain pen, however without the suitable softness pencil, shading properly becomes impossible, hence leaving your picutre 2d and weird looking

    Also if you don't understand what you are drawing it is completely pointless. You will only be able to recreate the exact pose with the exact same lighting. He is helping you create any pose under any lighting circumstance.
    Newbs troll hard on this one.
