Great you went for the Sussex, being a minority native breed, nice cattle that deserve support. Crossing some with shorthorns a good idea too. I am glad the market fairies are working for you too.
I like your choice of cattle. We used to have a neighbour graze his Sussex Bull on our field. Sensible size and a wonderful chestnut colour. (The horse chestnut sapling seems a good welcoming omen!). And a hard bred local native breed ought to suit your system well. Well done making top prices with your texel ewes.
Great video and I really like the new cattle, good choice. Also smart getting them from a source that raises them with similar management that you will use. You are probably already aware of this but if you rotational graze, have the cattle follow the sheep. The sheep parasites will not affect the cows and they will consume the worm larvae from the sheep, and this will reduce the worm count on your pasture. Good luck!!
My husband and I are planning on moving to Canada and I want to start a dairy sheep herd. A katahdin/friesian mix if I can find them. But if not then I'll get some katahdin ewes and the best friesian ram I can afford.
I'm not familiar with Sussex cattle, but I must admit they look good. I have many years of experience with Pedigree livestock and have come to appreciate the 3 way cross, try it and create your own breed. Good luck
Liking the purchases and even with the red price dropping back you did well. When will you hill them? I've started shifting my ewes every 3 to 4 days. Keeps parks clean and always fresh grass ahead of them. Good video.
Nearly half the time I don't grasp what you're talking about but it's still entertaining to follow your adventures. I'm that extra proud of myself when I figure something out after a time. 😊
Nice cattle ,should be easy to manage and low maintenance. Can’t beat cattle for improving pasture ,I rotate mine with cows in first eating long rougher grass then haye sheep in when grass is shorter high they prefer. I was curious what your plans are for the cattle ,in that are you planning to sell them store or fat at certain age or maybe box beef to order?
Love the vids lovely cows I took to dutch spotted lamb to market and made 380 pound. What bull you gonna use I put a lim on my hereford (the profile picture) her calf is lovely. Love seeing you happy with your pucheses
What a lovely farm and land you both have. Great channel 👍
Loving the new cows. Such lovely animals
Beautiful cattle Chris. I love your good luck bit, if we all keep believing, it will come true! ❤❤
I thought it was 10 years good luck… yeah that’s it. Them cows are sexy beasts. Hope they earn great returns.
Well done Chris. I can see you being very happy with the cows. We shall see. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Great video kris nice cattle you bought good luck with them ☘️👌
Your new cow will make a great sheep hearder! 😂
I confirm- 2 years good luck when you tell all your friends
Great to see you went for the Sussex. Great cattle, esp when crossed with an Angus. Not a big cow, but very solid.
Great choice on the cows mate! They’ll hoover up some of the sheep worms too. Cross them with a native I’d say. Shorthorn or Galloway 👍🏼

The cows look pretty lively. I guess they like their new home. I hope they bring you a lot of smiles.
The tail on that sheep! 🐑 😂
Lovely heifers! Well done. When is the bull coming?!
Kris, I'm enjoying the adventure in farming you're having with Zoe.

Don't really see Sussex around here in Australia but they look a nice type and move out well. Hopefully a great new chapter in your farming.
Those Cows look AMAZING!!!
Great choice of cattle you bought well hope they do ok for you 👍
Congrats on the cows. They look right at home
Your very multi talented Chris and looks decent shearing to me. More concerned about your setup for handling cattle that hasn’t been discussed yet.
Good video very nice cows wish you and Zoe all the best with them 👍
Well done on the cows they are beautiful, gorgeous chestnut colour to match the horse chestnut 🌰 can only be a good omen. ❤

The new cows are awesome.
They're some cracking cows, well done!

Lovely little cows!
Nice heifers but i hope there not going to take over from the sheep. Your our main sheep man😊.
Shearing is hard work at best of times ,,
❤
Synchronize them with cydirs, prostaglandin, estromate and AI them all the same day to an easy calving Angus bull for thier first calf.

roflllll u r soooo funny, love the giggles
🍀🍀
that was good clipping tbf
Talking of tups, did u ever find that one u bought last year that u think went in to the burn?
I think it may have ended up in kebabs. Sheep rustling UK is an unfortunate fact.
Did u ever find the ram that went missing Chris
Did you ever track down the tup that went missing??
Why did you go with these . Just wondering.?? .
There handsome , nice looking .
When you shear just a couple like that what do you do with the wool?
Welcome to the darkside!! 🤩🤩
nice cows, and a pedigree but why would you consider putting a different breed bull on them, keep the breed / pedigree going, best of luck with it
Not sure if it’s true, but apparently running sheep and cows together cuts down the need for worming
