I have my mums barbie, which is a second gen, 1960 doll. I have to say, the press stud openers are ok, but you can’t beat the tiny, metal zippers they used to do. And that Velcro on the belt, for a 60th anniversary doll is inexcusable. They should have pulled inspiration from the old clothing line for this doll. The wardrobe mums barbie has is incredible! (and worth a small fortune now!)

Not a fan of the outfit... maybe it looks better in person. It's all the same color pink neck down! She's just a hot pink glob! You can't see the silkskin exsept for her face and neck. The fabric looks kind of cheap as well 😕 I do love the purse though!

Quick question, did you ever try Kurhn dolls? I believe those are like Asian (Korean? Chinese?) versions of Barbie as well. I actually have one which I got from a friend, but there's one on aliexpress I'd love to have as well and I'm still not sure if I should order her or not.

I really like this doll and I can also see you done your nails as well which I really love. The color of them matches the doll and I also do my nails as well. Mines are blue and black with the thumbs having a curl and the rest in stripes. This is because I base off of Sanji's look from One Piece with the curled eyebrows and blue shirt with the black stripes.

As much as I love Barbie and the quality work they put into their dolls, I don't find myself much of a fan of this doll. The Barbie website itself retails this doll at $75 USD, which is not as expensive as I expected it to be, but I'm not a fan of the fashion choices made here. I feel the top is a little too plain for my liking and needs a little something more than a Barbie broach. I also don't care much for the tights/shoes. They're too simple for a doll celebrating its 60th anniversary. I think the skirt is moderately acceptable because it reps the Barbie logo and displays "since 1959," but I just can't help but think that there could have been something more done with this doll. I must say, I adore the hair though! The face is also very sweet and charming.
