Cheers Trey, great insights and first reaction as always! Just a little correction on the pronunciation that they go by 'Cor-teen-ers' (rather than 'Court-a-neers') but glad you enjoyed them! I think you hit the nail on the head. Musically it's a nice, jangly guitar sounding song but the real pull to the band is the charisma and 'lad type' Mancunian attitude of Liam's lyrics and vocal delivery... The Las line gets more everytime too haha. They've got plenty of belters that do well in a festivals as you could probably imagine with this style of music :) They have a more mature sound in their more recent stuff but the whole St Jude debut is worth a listen for anyone who likes what they hear here (notable shoutouts to the songs 'You're Not Nineteen Forever', 'What Took You So Long', 'How Come', 'Bide Your Time' and 'Yesterday, Today and Probably Tomorrow'). Impressive list of 'best songs' for an album only 38 minutes in length! If you really want to go deeper, their next album 'Falcon' is also worth people dipping their toes into.
Trey, The facts are cool to learn more about the artist. This song is catchy and melodic and has great guitar and drums and percussion. The rhythm is unique. I agree about the strong vocal delivery. The lyrics contain a realistic approach to relationships and good storytelling.Your breakdown of the meaning of the song is accurate and well described. I like this song. Good song choice Chris.
The whole album is back to back bangers and classics, it's a brilliant album it really is
Need to check it out. Thanks Peter!

Great suggestion and thanks for the help!
I love the Manchester sound - it's part of where I live. Very sardonic, frank and melodic! So many great sounds from the area.
Agreed! Thanks LJ!
Woooo more Courteeners!!
haha thanks Ryan!
You’re not nineteen forever, is still a favorite. This song makes me want to dig deeper into this debut.
