Hey I was watching Requin's PBEM match of yours in CM Cold War from a few months back. Did you not publish your turns? I wanted to see your perspective.
Only thing I would say is the brigade that uses t 84s is based around karkhiv, so I'd change the tanks to different variants of t 64 or t72, otherwise cool vid
Liked this video. Would they use Javelins on BMP's though? Maybe these would be reserved for MBTs. Ukraine must have amazing C2 if they can call in artillery with that speed and precision.
I used them initially on the Russian T72s. I did call in artillery later in the video and even successfully destroyed a BMP with it. The Javelins were just fun to use. Cmo is a good Sim but struggles at simulating ground combat.
This video kinda demonstrates that CMO is somewhat inadequate for simulating the conflict in Ukraine. Because, while the operations themselves are CMO-level of complex, they also happen at a much lower scale, which CMO does not model much.
The war in Ukraine, especially now, is like platoons and companies fighting one another. These are just tiny engagements for such a large scale sim like this
this is basically what ukraniens were doing past 4 months , as the attackers . 70.000 deads , 4000 vehicles gone . 30% of their offensive capability and build up . 90% of soldiers recruited last autumn gone . and these are not russian claims but western estimates and some ukranian admittings
it's time to understand a long time ago that the USA simply does not give weapons to end this in a couple of months of the beginning, when Russia suffered crushing defeats, there is no aviation, there is no result, no one will assault mines, in the end it all comes down to freezing the conflict again.
These are not fully scripted scenarios. I have designed them to demonstrate certain aspects of battle. I am just now learning LUA and designing something more complicated takes time.
@@TacticsWithJoe thx for the response. However, to make an accurate combat senario you should give the russians lots of artillery as they always use a ton of it. For the terrain part, the javelins would not have been able to engage the column as there was a 25 meter wide woodline between the convoy and the javelins units line of sight
I don't know if they improved ground unit functionality. One of the devs stated that they are planning to update them soon, so we have that to look forward too.
This scenario was really simple. I just gave the Russian units a move order with the F1 key. There is no additional logic behind their movement. you can switch between sides in the scenario editor.
Nah. Look at the videos. There are like 30 tanks just driving into artillery and mines as they dont care. And 30 tanks plus other vehicles in a less then 1km by 1km area is a Lot
The tank shell vs ATGM speeds seem way off.. a tank shell is approx 1500m/sec whereas ATGM is about 250m/sec.

I did not publish my turns. If we battle again, I will probably publish my turns. Right now, we are playing Strategic Command American Civil War.

I think there are many scenarios where the jav can be used, just preferably tanks because of the cost of each missile .
Meh, it's the Ukrainians, they'll throw everything at the Russians...
Like a micro-management? (Btw, seen you on Reddit CMO, I really like your videos, man, keep it up more.) Cheers and kudos!
Thanks for the re-upload, much better now 👍
No problem, I will be making more of these later.

The reality was they all went straight into mine fields.
You can't landmines in CMO
Drone UAV made this possible with minimal casualty for attacker.
That was the point. The ambush was successful in real-life.
quick question: why havent you included russian artillery in the senario?

@@akboy47 They fire less artillery shells per month than Ukraine at this point lol.
@@shadowguy1112 Jesus, you Russia-Haters are totally out of your minds.
Is this using the new ground unit functionality from the update?

Hi, I want to buy this game so I have a question are these freezes are ok for this game or it's because of your computer ?
I am pausing the game..
How did you make the enemy units ambush your units? If u make the enemies they just stay still can someone help me with it pls

@@TacticsWithJoe but how can I see all the troops from the map cuz I don’t see any only by the god eye but I can’t attack that way
@@TacticsWithJoe but do u know how i can make every single unit visible without gods eye?
@@ensarlecaj3538 you need to spot them. I was using a uav

Vuhledar is down.
Video was posted in March 2023
@@TacticsWithJoe Make a video how the Russian took over Vuhledar.
you can command land units in this game?
That is basically all i play
Is this a mod or does CMO have ukranian and Russian troops as displayed in the video by default?
I think I modded these troops. I don't really remember. If I did mod it, then all I did was run a lua script or I just added javelins to UKR troops.
I love how javelin shoot through buildings and forest belts
You need to take those issues up with the developers of CMO.
@@TacticsWithJoe yeah no worries pal
*Great!*
Thank you
Too much zooming in and out. Otherwise cool video.
I will see what I can do to improve the viewer experience.
No I didnt find this an issue
Who told you Russia lost 150 tanks in one battle? You are seriously misfinformed.
