I love this💚 I grew up in the West and remember Men and Woman like this when I was a kid, Hard people for hard times, They didn't have a lot but were happy with what they had!
He was from Scrancally, Keenagh, Crosmolina Co Mayo. His old house is on the left going North toward bellacorick on the R312 from the Keenagh Beg Crossroads before the Tractor Dealership. The church in the video is the Church of the Holy Souls Keenagh. He visits Tolan's Butchers in Crosmolina, Tolan's is still in business today and is on the corner of Chapel St. Patrick is buried in Our Ladys Kilmurry old cemetery. He passed away in 1993. He can be seen attending the Sheep Fair in Crossmolina. When I was growing up in Mayo as a boy there were many living like Patrick Fergus, and they were my neighbors, sadly his way of life and many of his type are now long gone. As in the previous comment, he was an Absolute salt of the earth, may he rest in peace.
