Exactly our feeling when we had to leave after a trip to Turkey that started the Friday following 911. We were a little awed at everything happening around us as we went through London to Istanbul. After a month we felt like never leaving… and I have wanted to return ever since. Turkish people are the best!

Ended up meeting a beautiful Turkish lady. Got married and now we have spent the last 23 years both living at home (Australia) and in Turkey. What a privilege. How fitting Ersel saw you two off at the airport! A heart-filling way to bookend your time in Turkey. And, yes, to marvel at all the beautiful people, places, and things that would have been missed with the "original plan." And then to think of the people that have met each other through you that wouldn't have! Ben & Chesca wouldn't have found Scout, Seher would have probably exhausted herself and been forced to give up, and so many people (myself included) would never know just how much they wanted to visit Turkey! Amazing!!! And to be reunited with family and friends after two years. I can't even imagine. 🤗🤗🤗 I think Trudy received more than Tender Loving Care at the trusty garage, it was more like the automotive equivalent of Deep Tissue Massage! I can only imagine how difficult and emotional it was to leave Turkey, we didn't know we were not going to be able to head back so we didn't get to "be sad". I've got a V Plate 1999 Ducato. Mine rusted in exactly the same places. A bit of welding and TLC and we were up and running again.
Yes - Andrew having an old van and parking on the beaches etc has this effect but she is all good now and ready to go

Not gonna lie, I teared up on the Turkish photo montage. My husband and I are serious Turkophiles and feel the same way you do about Turkey! If Trudy needs a check-up in the Seattle area, we own two auto repair shops just north of Seattle, and we would *love* to talk about Turkey! :)
I haven't been to Turkey since 1986, my wife since 1984. Watching the great vlogs from Chris and Marianne have convinced us to go back. Hoping to get there for a month this October even thought the 24 hour flights from Australia knock us about as we reach out dotage.

How fitting Ersel saw you two off at the airport! A heart-filling way to bookend your time in Turkey. And, yes, to marvel at all the beautiful people, places, and things that would have been missed with the "original plan." And then to think of the people that have met each other through you that wouldn't have! Ben & Chesca wouldn't have found Scout, Seher would have probably exhausted herself and been forced to give up, and so many people (myself included) would never know just how much they wanted to visit Turkey! Amazing!!!
And to be reunited with family and friends after two years. I can't even imagine. 🤗🤗🤗
I think Trudy received more than Tender Loving Care at the trusty garage, it was more like the automotive equivalent of Deep Tissue Massage! "That's just a thing." 🤣😆🤣😆 Glad you have mechanics you know and trust so well. The garage Mimi & I go to have serviced our cars for over 20 years!

I can only imagine how difficult and emotional it was to leave Turkey, we didn't know we were not going to be able to head back so we didn't get to "be sad". We were so sure we were going to be there last October... but oh well life works its mysterious ways.
Poor Trudy had some tough times, she deserves all the love and cares to get ready for this wonderful new adventure!!
I was laughing as I chose the picture .... do you remember this day !! We went shopping together and then got back to see the guys having beer in our beautiful Dalyan .... And then we all laughed at how rubbish we are at taking selfies LOL 😂. - Thank goodness Lieles has long arms !! A sad day, I am sure. Two years is a long time to spend in a foreign country, but you picked a good one, and all the nice people you met along the way. You are not the same after such an experience. I have thoroughly enjoyed visiting Turkey with you albeit virtually.. I am actually in Istanbul at the moment, this fascinating and historic city. Happy travels.🚐🇹🇷🧿😻

It was so sad watching you leave Turkey and all your friends. I always shed a few tears when leaving this beautiful country. Your videos have been amazing! I'm excited to be planning a trip there very soon. First port of call, İstanbul! It's been a few years since I've been able to get back there (not my choice) but you have allowed me to have a virtual holiday.
