I am going to acknowledge that I may be being unfair with this, BUT: I just took a peek at both their IG accounts and then here. Trying to just take a peek now and then because like others, I think it’s time to move on. And on Kai’s story he’s on whatever show this is from, plus I just saw whatever this is. And it bugged me. And maybe it was this contrast: 1. From seeing AJ with no stories & in her last post being still injured and very still & serious when the AJ we normally see is bouncy and laughing. . 2. To seeing Kai dancing, jumping around with a soccer ball, laughing his head off & having a grand old time with other strictly people on the tv show and then in this clip. My response was: I felt EXTREMELY ANNOYED at & by him being on tv & having a great time while she was home, injured & looking really sad despite trying to put on a brave face. And I realize that it’s because I do kind of blame him for her situation. I think I was affected before by all his crying & sadness. Some women are suckers for men showing a lot of emotion & I am definitely one of them. So I had been focused on the idea that Strictly as a business let AJ down, didn’t protect her health, pushed her way too hard & led to her being injured. But when I saw Kai dancing & laughing on tv, I thought: ‘Naw, Dude. You were there. You were supposed to be looking out for her safety and protecting her as her partner. You pushed her too far because you wanted to win & she let you because she trusted you, not the show: YOU! And what she got for her trust in you was an awful injury that is going to take months to heal and will cause her pain & problems for her whole life.’ In fact, we don’t even know if she will dance seriously again. Or how much she will be able to do as a dancer after this. It’s a really bad injury. Also, I suspected before but now do really think some of his tears on ITT were guilt tears because he knows he pushed her too far & she has to pay for it. But he said he would help her recover & we all assumed he would. And now, we don’t know if he has spent a single second helping AJ or at least sending her a bowl of soup or something. If he has, they haven’t show it on social media. Has he done anything for her??? But we’ve seen him golfing and now playing with the soccer ball & dancing while she can do nothing, partly because of him. And it makes me really annoyed at him & for her. Am I being unfair?
You're being totally fair .I agree that these routines were pretty advanced for a beginner. I was quite surprised that he never actually took any responsibility for the injury. But we all got sucked in with seeing him cry. I suppose he still has a job to do but we don't really know what's going on behind the scenes. I am more concerned for AJ, poor girl is so quiet these days .It's not like her at all. I was beginning to move on then I saw Maisie in AJ'S jive dress and I was gobsmacked!
Hi Dionne, Tbh I don’t think Kai is being selfish at all. He’s probably checking in on her and not posting about it. I know it feels a bit unfair to see him having a good time whilst we know Aj is probably going through a really rough time but it’s the way life is unfortunately. One minute people could be at a funeral mourning and the next back to normal life coz it’s just how life is…people have to move on regardless there’s no other option I am afraid. It’s a shame Aj got injured and I am hoping she’s surrounded by her friends and family. Kai is carrying on but I am sure he’s just as hurt by not being there for Aj 100% coz of other commitments but given a choice I am sure he would happily give her a piggyback 24/7. From what I understand training starts Monday so he’ll probably be more busy than usual and come Monday things are going to be hard for Aj , reality will truly kick in. She always puts on a brave face but that girl is in bits🥺. Good thing she has a very supportive loving family.
AJ and Kai also have a personal life. What kai is doing on tv is his business life and not his personal life. Same goes for AJ. They don't have to show there contact on SM, because it's nobody's business but theirs.
Hi Dionne, This is my first time posting on here but I have been a silent AJ supporter from week 1. Please forgive how long this post is. To me, yes, your statement seems quite unfair for several reasons: 1. We don’t know the extent of AJ’s injury. Yes, it is serious but Athletes come back from injuries all the time. Let’s pray that with the right support she will get there. She said it's on a positive trajectory so let’s remain hopeful! 2. As @Sib Sibby stated we don’t KNOW what going on. Social media is NOT a reflection of real life. For all we know, Kai could be at her house right nursing her broken heart (and foot)! I admit his social media leaves much to be desired in terms of showing public support, but is that really enough to crucify the guy? 3. He cannot be expected to just sit around. As harsh as this sounds, life goes on (and I am devastated for AJ believe me!) 4. Now, I hear your point about him failing to protect her while they were dancing. I partially agree. With Salsa week, the routine was far too difficult and taxing on AJ. As the pro, he really should have seen this during the week and altered the routine. However, the only times I really saw them push physicality were in the Salsa, Charleston and CC weeks- all choreographed externally. Maybe he didn’t feel confident pushing back. I don’t know. But this was his first year, he was bound to make mistakes. Hopefully, he has learnt some lessons from this entire unfortunate ordeal. Importantly, the man is not God, he can’t tell the future. We are all operating with the benefit of hindsight. If he knew this would be the outcome, he probably would have done things differently. However, AJ is an extremely athletic, very capable, confident woman known for pushing herself to her physical limits (see celebrity SAS), way past most ordinary people’s threshold. It wouldn’t have seemed crazy to push her. Especially as she asked to be pushed. He would have wanted to give her a full experience. And he did! We all loved their routines didn’t we?? Would she have gotten to the pro-level she reached without being pushed? Let’s also not forget the pressure he would have felt from week 1 to get her to the final (she wanted to win too!) and the fact that they were being sabotaged the entire time by the scoring. Would they have even arrived at the final if they had played it safe? Ultimately, we don’t KNOW if the injury was a result of being pushed too hard or one of those unfortunate accidents so I don’t think we should be quick to blame. I would suggest that if seeing these videos of Kai are triggering, perhaps consider blocking/ muting him and the other strictly folks for the next few weeks. It's only going to get worse when rehearsals start on Monday.... Honestly, I understand the hurt and anger but I think we could all take a leaf out of AJ’s book on the power of positivity. Let’s channel our energy, where possible, into supporting her through what will be an inevitably challenging and painful few weeks.

Rose was supposed to win, a person like AJ shocked them. 2020 Clara with Aljaz was good, however she peaked when she did the Charleston was out by week 6. AJ got low marks for the Samba, she didn't go home, she was at the bottom of the leader board with the Paso Doble. The public saved her and peole rang up and complained to the BBC about the marking, that must be very upsetting for the powers that be. The marks for the CC was an absolute disgrace and the only person who supported them was Shirley. Again outrage from the public. You could see AJ and Kai were very upset at the marks of the couples choice, Cynthia's mark was disguisting. Then they had a dance off with Dan and people accussed them of cheating. We don't know much tears and doubt were behind the scenes with AJ and she mentioned it. We would never know if AJ would have actually won the glitterball. Everyone talks about the magic between AJ and Kai, but do they actually want it. People would have loved to see the kitchen sink throw in the show dance and yet would they have won? Kai has to work and get more experience and he can design dances for Aj, where she can take her time and learn without injury. Being mediocre seems to be the order of the day in the UK. On DWTS (USA) Jojo and Jenna were expected to win, however Iman and Daniella won. Although, we would have liked to see AJ on tour, I feel that she needs a bigger platform, where she can shine without people trying to undermark her. SCD tour only lasts for 6 weeks. We must continue to pray her healing and she dances in shows that celebrate her, not tolerate her.

It's his job. He is going to dance with Maisie. If you like it or not. They do re-use dresses; that's what's happening all the time at strictly. Don't make it personal because it isn't. Kai and AJ don't plaster their personal life all over SM, respect that.
