    A very worthwhile and enjoyable series of talks . I would be interested in further information on what determines box size and shape . With thanks Leigh .

    Thanks for this video. It explains a lot about the graphs.

    Excellent review of why speaker's have issues and what issues show up in measurement's. I am wondering though if you've found any correlation in phase response curves to breakup areas .

    Thank you or your advices and your technical overall knowledge that you pass. Please is it dificult for you when talking over a graph, to show what are you talking about with the mouse cursor viewable- something like voice over in other dimension- prefearbly with yellow circle around for easy view. Thanks a lot Leon.

    Danny, can you explain what parameter I would look for to determine whether a driver is used for hifi use, pro sound use (as in on stage), or car audio use? I'm not sure if it would be in T/S parameters or something else.

    Do you have any advice on type of speaker wire gauge, coating slid vs stranded etc.

      For our internal wire we use a four 9's pure Copper in polyethylene, and it is solid core.

    So how do you make a speaker have a good spectrial decay?

    • @dannyrichie9743
      @dannyrichie9743 4 роки тому

      NO break up modes or stored energy issues. Lighter weight moving masses really helps and limiting exertion.

      @@dannyrichie9743 So film, foil or multiple dynamic drivers sharing the load. The later is what I did. Thanks.

    This is the 300ms 20Hz-20kHz waterfall on my Linaeum LT1000 speakers - initial output is about 85dB and the floor is at 35dB:

    As I watched your video, I realized that the spectral decay graphs you show are a different thing than the waterfall I got in REW? Unless mine in is in microseconds and yours is in milliseconds?

    • @dannyrichie9743
      @dannyrichie9743 3 роки тому +2

      300ms is a long time. You are also looking at the decay rates of your room. I am showing the decay rates of the speakers only. Big difference.

    • @NeilBlanchard
      @NeilBlanchard 3 роки тому +1

      @@dannyrichie9743 Okay, understood - I will see if I can get a gated / pulse measurement, in REW.

    • @NeilBlanchard
      @NeilBlanchard 3 роки тому +1

      @@dannyrichie9743 Thanks for your reply - I was attempting to find out more about what the waterfall graph in REW is showing, and I am still not sure. I redid the EQ filters and now have the response smoother, and pretty close to a room curve.

    • @dannyrichie9743
      @dannyrichie9743 3 роки тому +2

      @@NeilBlanchard It is showing how long it takes for the room reflections to die down. Unfortunately it will all change with SPL.

    • @NeilBlanchard
      @NeilBlanchard 3 роки тому

      @@dannyrichie9743 Okay, that makes sense. I am now wondering if REW can do a cumulative spectral decay measurement, or what program that I can use, can do this?
