Who Are The Middle Powers In Today’s World? | Maleeha Lodhi | Dawn News English

- The notion of middle powers has long been around. But it has acquired new relevance in the current geopolitical context whose defining features are increasing multipolarity and the US-China competition. There is no consensus in the growing literature about how to define middle powers.
However, according to former Pakistani diplomat Maleeha Lodhi, there is general agreement that these countries are neither among the world’s superpowers nor are they small powers as they have the ability to influence geopolitics.

Her pride is preventing her to name india as a middle power. Ad a matter of fact, india has become a upper middle power whether she acknowledge it or not.
I am surprised that she can not see the reality standing right in front of her.
She implies India is a super power
Hahaha this women is a big comedian
In these days with out naming India how can some one discuss the world politics
She looks happy after deliberately eliminate India from this list.....thus what Pakistanis say don't matter
This is the same lady who showed the Palestinian women photo misrepresenting it as kashmiri. Pakistan is middle power. I couldn't stop laughing. World class beggar is middle power. I'll suggest that she claim sole superpower for Pakistan. Such people brought Pakistan where it is.
Good perspective on explaining the current world situation through the lens of middle powers 🙌
She is in a dream world. She talks about middle powers without even mentioning India! It is sad that that people at such high levels do not see reality. She says that Pakistan is a middle power!!!!!!!
"Turkey has good relations with the US" Hmmmm
If she does a fair and balanced analysis, and mentions India, Maliha Lodhi may get arrested by the Pak Army.
Thank you maam
There should be a comprehensive dialogue on this topic from the experts of the topic
Tomorrows special edition opinion programme will be about looking out the window and seeing the weather during the day. This masterclass of stating the bloody obvious as an excuse to earn a few shekels will make good comedy in the future, when Pakistan has a truly free and independent media.
me
South Africa GDP is around $ 400 billion. India's GDP is $ 4 trillion. Actually India is no longer a middle power. India is a major power in transition to become a global power.
