I love this game! It's great to see it again. Hints: If you want to trade at the start, lookout for trade bans (faction tab) which may prevent you from trading because it creates negative reputation. May not be that important if your run is designed to last 2 years only anyway. At the start don't take missions that require a jump. They do cost a lot of time for the reputation gain. Take local missions, they are much faster. The initial goal is to build up reputation quickly with your starting contacts so you can use their services effectively. Prince Faen can provide Shock Trooper or Soldiers as crew or officers. If you build him up quickly you can have a level 10 Shocktrooper or Soldier within a couple of months which would help a lot in crew combat. They can fill 3 positions in your crew combat team. 1: Shocktrooper 2: Shotgun Soldier 3: your starting medic 4: rifle soldier. You can use filters in the crew tab. Your most needed is probably the filter for training. So you don't have to search your crew manually.
21:48 Before taking the Arbiter to her destination, you could have looked at the Star Atlas to view the supply and demand information for the systems you had already visited to help you plot out trade routes. 😉
Good point. I tend to forget you can do that, probably because that data goes stale. But you're correct, and at the start of the game the data is fresh, so I should have done that.
@@ColorsFadeGaming Also.. don't forget that you can search the Atlas too at the bottom left. You can even look at the Galactic map and other systems' Atlas to really plan things out. Using Keywords is easiest but filters also exist to help you sort. O7 Cap'n. Glad to have you back on the bridge.
Nothing like a fun, relaxing afternoon on the Frontier! In previous playthroughs you mentioned you would like to unlock the mystery surrounding the carrier ships. Will you adventure into the carriers in this series?
Doubtful on this run because the 2nd unlock requires taking on the Jyeeta, and I don't want to be experimenting against them. Will stick to the tried-and-true Catula Titan for the endgame here.
I really want to have a successful run of this game someday, but I need some kind of ELI5 guide first. Does it help to play on easy difficulty the first time?
It helps to play on Normal, because there is no perma-death. So even if your ship dies or your captain dies in combat, you can keep playing and it's like it never happened. I do have a noobie couple tutorials on this game: ua-cam.com/video/WppPorbWBxk/v-deo.html
@@LordofSyn Would you have a tip for helping me with my last achievement? I can't get the Pit Fighter storyline to proc. 10 games down and still no Pit Fighter. :( Do you know the secret?
@@Hackmanic O7 Eryn Razor can be found on any zone with a Spice rating of 6+. She usually shows up later in the randomized vignette sequence but you'll know her by her name, the fact she talks about gambling, and how she looks! Edit: In fact, pay attention to Rumors as well as you'll want the best Fighters you have as those Pit Fights are not simple at all.
👍 Agree ! Star Traders: Frontiers is a much better game than Starfield. I followed your first STF game play through and tutorials right to the end. STF takes a bit more brain matter to get to completion. Thumbs up! 😀
@@lonewolf5238 I agree, games need more than fancy graphics. ColorsFade, his approach to methodology, detailing and game setup caught my attention on how to really play STF. And as the game progresses the game strategies and player have to updated and adapted as well. Yes I do own the game as well. :)
Going to get into star traders frontier again I just started this video and and I have a question ? Do you u remember that cut scene where you can either help or attack those guys robbing something , I always choose to attack him to not gain bad favor with that nation but if I were to defend them do I unlock their contact ?
Aww they make wing commander needing Xeno slayer to unlock and hunt the hunters for shizari huntress. I had wing commander unlocked when they release and was working on unlocking shizari huntress through Xeno slayer when it release before I gv up due to burn out from countless failed game.

If you go to your Captain's Log, you can tell how many times you've patrolled. 😉
Did not know that. Thanks! That will be useful with the other unlocks then.

Imagine what the Trese brothers could do with half the resources that were used in Starfield
