Trevor only really knows weapons and their maintenance, he was never taught to read through the library (everyone died before he ever got the chance) so him leaving that up to Sypha and Alucard only makes sense. He's currently looking through the weapons they have available so that when the fight with Dracula and his minions begins, each one will work appropriately.
I don’t think that’s entirely true. He was educated and has studied from books to a degree; but his training and education was incomplete. So you’re right. He was looking for tools and things best suited to him.
I don’t think you mentioned it in your commentary, but I believe the reason Trevor isn’t doing much in this is mentioned (briefly) in an earlier episode when Trevor says he can’t read. I always liked that detail; he knows he’s illiterate but he doesn’t let pride get in the way of the mission. He doesn’t seem particularly embarrassed by his illiteracy; it is what it is. He knows Sypha and Alucard + the knowledge is home may be just what they need. It’s a small character trait that makes him seem more of a person to me.
bruh...he can read... he just can't read magic. he had a full education as a child under the belmonts, he is extremely intelligent, he's just not a sorcerer...
@@nonuvurbeeznus795 I stand (well, sit) corrected. Some quick googling confirms that, according to Samuel Deats (director of the show), you're right: he just can’t read magic. Based solely on the what Trevor was saying in that episode (I want to say 2x01?) I think the wording allows for either interpretation; my bad for not poking at the meaning with a sharper stick. A more accurate phrasing would then be that he’s partially illiterate insofar that he can’t read magic. I don’t know that I like the phrase “magic illiterate” as it seems to imply a person doesn’t understand and/or can’t use magic, which (while true) isn’t what I’m trying to communicate here. Sound right?
@@noahrobin1941 He's not illiterate in any sense XD calling him "magic illiterate" is like calling me "Chinese illiterate". That would mean every person on the planet is illiterate in something and at that point the word has lost its original meaning if you ask me. Which is someone who can't read or write, period. I'm not holding it against you or anything I just think it's kinda funny. I mean the guy possesses an Encyclopedic knowledge of monsters, history, and martial arts, and his childhood home (that he lived in for ~12 years) was built ontop of the greatest library in the country if not all of europe. He's overshadowed by the two nerds but he is very smart. He's just monolingual. He only speaks "English". (or Romanian which is the language they are probably actually speaking)
He did mention earlier in season one he recognized the cyclops straight from his family’s bestiary. So that does imply reading and education. He did comprehend the knowledge involved in his training and education, but it was incomplete. I don’t exactly know the extent to his education, but he is more intelligent than the average person in this era.
Yeah Carmilla shows her true colors and is no longer keeping her ambitions in check. They did find the viewing mirror last episode, they have everything they need in the basement. Yeah the next two episodes are action packed and Trevor is fully prepared now wielding the Morning Star and now finding Leon Belmot’s sword. Also as of last night I finally finished the series, onto Nocturne and finally wait for the new season for that like everyone else.
I always thought Alucard quickly developed a liking for Sypha because he reminds him of Lisa, his mother. And he antagonizes Trevor way too much to argue he doesn't actually like him.

Sypha: Perhaps you’re just an angry teenager in an adults body.
SHOTS FIRED!
I like how Isaac still gave Godbrand a honorable sendoff.
And trolled him afterwards
Dracula sitting in his chair asking, "it doesn't matter. They all have to die." Always sticks out to me

The way Dracula speaks with no energy in his voice, he's showing signs of depression; considering why, it's not that surprising 😔
Gonebrand

He definitely sees that in Sypha but i think he becomes more rivals to frenemies to best buds with Trevor
I love all characters, but i do believe Isaac's the best one out of all of them.
I’m a major Alucard fan. I appreciate that they kept the core of his character in tact.
Isaac's character is probably the most intriguing but he was also given the strongest plot armor among any of the characters in the entire series.
Idk if you both know but after this series is another one that takes place centuries later, castlevania: nocturne
I kinda wondered if Alucard was reminded of his mother by Sypha.
I would of walked back into that room and said this a set up talking about you implicated now yeah ok 😭
.......can't wait till your next 2 episodes:D
Carmilla revealed her hand to Hector that early because she and he knows that he couldn't do anything about it.
Thanks
Hector feeling that Top 10 Anime Betrayals ngl.
Also lmao that reply. 🤣
Things are going to get crazier in the next episodes. Are you sure you’re ready? 😏
Thx for Cvania. 👍
Dracula having a ball of a time trip through memory lane.
Carmilla being a girlboss for 18 minutes.
Gaslighting. Gatekeeping. Girlbossing.
