I'm planning on getting the HTC M8 from Verizon in the near future. I want to root it first thing, since I absolutely HATE their built-in apps. Before I do, I have a few questions. First, will I still have access to phone/SMS/LTE functionality on Verizon's network? Second, what are the complications with updating apps and versions of android (for instance, updating the OS to Android 4.5 when and if it comes out). Lastly, what's the best custom ROM? I'm find in cyanogenmod intriguing, but I know too little of the subject to make an informed decisions.
Hello, So the rom has been updated on the website. I downloaded it on my phone and then I tried multiple times to install the rom and it didnt work. So finally I just installed nothing extra just the basics and it worked. Then I got a text and I realized that I had no contacts. So I went into twrp and made a backup and then restored back to sence. Now heres the tough part I got all of my contacts onto my sd card but when I go back into twrp and wipe to install the rom I get stuck in the boot up and I have to force back into recovery and go back to sence. I have a verizon htc one m8. I am running android 4.4.2. My build number is 1.55.605.2 CL326752. I use twrp as my recovery.
Few questions. Can you do OTA updates with this ROM? Do you need to do a factory reset when switching the ROM? And did they fix the camera or is it still having issues

Hey, what have you found for the Verizon Motorola Droid MAXX (VX10180)? Can the VX1080 be turned into a Google Play edition? I've rooted previous version devices, but - haven't Rooted this one. What are the benefits of doing same to this unit?
question: If you're doing this on the m7(with the m7 version obviously) when you put the ROM on your phone in a folder, then hit restore to factory(in the recovery), will it wipe the ROM off too?

after flashing google play edition rom will you get the updates from google?
If you have the SuperCid 11111111 than will the ROM work on any us phone regardless of carrier.
Is there a reason you have been using TWRP? I used CWM build and want to make sure I can flash with that still.

If you do this GPE ROM on the Verizon One M8 will it receive updates from Google just like other GPE devices?

No. When you perform a wipe it only deletes all user data. It won't delete any existing rom files or nandroid back ups on your sdcard
Unless of course if you are trying to re-lock and unroot the device. In that case, yes it will get deleted
So it doesn't matter where I put it in my phones storage.

You can convert a GSM M8 to a GPE, I believe. This is for us on VZW.

I was excited to this as well. Then I installed it. It's agonizingly slow. I've never seen a ROM as laggy as this one. I'd call this beta at best.
