here from your FB post. this is really great for it only being your second vid. Very informative, nice footage and great voice. Also thanks for the warnings! I really appreciate stuff like that.
OH MY GOSH. Thank you SO much for linking the knob you bought from aliexpress! I've been trying to compare sizing to make sure it fits and your videos was perfect. Tysm !!!
I have a Gamakay TK68 which is a fabulous board to type on and comparable with the LK67 but without the knob. The main con is the software. It's Ok for RGB settings but you can't remap the keys. It would be a big plus for Gamakay products if the software would be upgraded. In case of the LK67 the knob could then be assigned to do other things like te more expensive Keychrons or GMMK. The thing about the case, I once opened it and had a rough time closing it again because of the alignment of the little switches on the side. In this construction it is better to leave it as it is. That is not a problem because the board is excellent the way it is.
Completely agree regarding the software. I omitted it from this review because it doesn't support Macs. Tried it on Windows on Bootcamp and it was terrible. Laggy and unintuitive. If Gamakay can work on improving it and making it Mac compatible, they'd be onto a winner.
@@groesjenka I've been eyeing that for a while! It definitely looks to be a better keyboard than the LK67. Haven't pulled the trigger because I really have no use for the function row and prefer the smaller footprint of 65% layouts.
The ACR67 and Dukharo 66/Lychee 66 seem like good options, although I really like the Feker IK75. I am biased because 75% boards are my favourite lol. However it is a very popular keyboard, both the LK67 and IK75 have gotten pretty popular as beginner custom kits. Would be great if you come around reviewing it
@@MohammedUsaid Thanks for the recommendation! Now that both of you have mentioned it, I'm very tempted to get the Feker IK75 in for review. Might just change my perception on 75% keyboards!
Saw your build on a reddit post and it looks great, one question I have is should I use the included cable or use a different one because I saw people saying that using the included cable can kill the board entirely.
Thank you! You can use the included cable. I believe that issue affected the TM680 variant, haven't heard of similar reports for the LK67. I've been using mine with the included cable and aftermarket coiled cable with no issues.
Great quality content. Im thinking of getting this keyboard kit as well. Not sure if its the same but on amazon US there is a gk68 that looks exactly like this one.
I need help I just got my lk67 today I got the switches and some keycaps but the keycaps don’t fit it seems like they’re too big for the board itself I’m new to this does anyone know what keycaps I should get? Or look for?
Wow so in wired mode, the knob doesn't light up at all? Perhaps it can with the custom software? Yet in the video the green lights up while you're typing?
So the behaviour is a bit weird. I was using it on Bluetooth for the typing test. This is what I've noticed: Wired: Red light when switched on, no light during use. Bluetooth: Blue light when switched on and pairing, green light when paired and during use. 2.4Ghz: Green light when switched on, no light during use.
Thank you! I'm in Portugal, right beside you. The best place to get good affordable keyboards would be Banggood or AliExpress, though shipping time can take between 2-4 weeks.
@@HarvindG The problem here in Spain are taxes and customs.. from 22€ have to pay, about 21% (other taxes apart...) From where did you buy KBD67 Lite? I want upgrade the hobby ... Muito obrigado ;)
Try searching for Gamakay LK67 and see what pops up on Amazon. I've also had great experience with Banggood, although shipping can take 2-3 weeks depending on where you live.
Added a link in the description! Just recorded a video of some mods to make this keyboard more thocky than it already is. Should be up sometime next week. Enjoy the thoccs.
I read on some reviews that this keyboard isn’t totally compatible with cherry profile? Or is it based off the switches because I’m using gatreon ink v2 and I’m concerned if I get cherry profile they won’t fit
Interference can happen with cherry keycaps on north facing LEDs, but it depends more on the switches you pair it with. Long pole switches alleviate this problem, and some new switches like the Gateron Oil Kings have a groove on the top housing to avoid interference. I did the 'paper test' on these Jwick switches and they don't seem to have interference with cherry keycaps. The Ink Black v2 has an older mold, so I think there may be interference.
Thank you! Yes it does, I use it with a Mac. The software is not supported, but it's terrible anyway, you're not missing out on much. You'll just need to change the CMD/Option modifier keys through the 'Keyboard' setting on Mac OS, and you're good to go.
Fair warning, while the hardware is good (for the price), all the saving went into the software thats so bad it doesn't even have (real) layers. What it calls layers are just profiles and not switchable without opening the software. The only exception is the fn key layer and that blocks the mapping of some keys, and no the shift layer isn't remappable. That's if the software even detects the thing (and believe me, that's one hell of an if) and on top of all of that the side and back RGB isn't user controlable (or the software makes it very hard to find) and as the final sucker punch, the hotswap sockets are so tight there's a good chance it will wreck your switch pins and even the socket itself, also the case is hollow but that is easily fixed and by far the least of this rip-off GMMK Pro's problems
This keyboard can be opened w/o breaking the three mode switch: ua-cam.com/video/FlcWeJ-QxUQ/v-deo.html
You're the real MVP! That's going to be my weekend project. Subbed and pinned for others to see this.

Any other 65% layouts with a knob below $100 that I should check out? Let me know!
Not a 65% but an interesting 75% board is the Feker75

wont it have north facing interference with the cherry profile
It did but in all honesty, I didn't notice it during regular use.
What cable is that?
It’s a coiled cable I got from AliExpress
